It's hard to really get the feel that there is impending doom when the character and enemies look cartoony, and the over-world is overly bright. Even the dungeon in the trailer didn't look at all intimidating.

In all fairness, that just looked like a bright area of the game, and I think that the demo was just a demo area and not so much an actual dungeon. Also, in
OoT there was a widely varied color pallet. In the Shadow temple everything was VERY dark, the bonchuu bowling alley however was very bright and festive.

Well in all fairness once again, the fighting has really been improved upon, apparently it IS generally more difficult, so I think that makes up for it. I would rather have something that is hard to execute than hard to figure out.
