Re: The *Official* FSA Buyer's Guide

I figure I would throw in my two cents in for this game. First off, if you have friends with gba's and cable's, and you are a fan of Zelda or even games, GET THIS. I didn't realize how much fun it would be.

I started off playing Shadow Battle, which was very fun. It is sort of like a SSBM type fighting, more simplistic, but great non-the-less.

After that we went into Hylian Adventure, and let me tell you it is a blast! It makes you work together, but if someone is getting on your nerves, throw them in a lava pit. I mean it is so great how Nintendo makes it so you have to be rivals with your team-mates.

Just trust me on this one, this game is amazingly good!

Oh, I understand completely. My list was:

Zelda GC
FSA
Minish Cap
Metroid Prime 2

but I try to get them as soon as they come out. So most likely the list will turn out to be like this:

FSA (I just got it today!)
Minish Cap
Metroid Prime 2
Zelda GC

Re: The *Official* FSA Buyer's Guide

This game is officially on my list of favourite Zelda games, period. I love the way the story is progressing, the gameplay has to be some of the best I've seen in ANY game, whether it's single player or multi-player (I've been playing a lot with my sister lately and we tend to randomly swing our swords at each other just for laughs). I know some of you weren't sure as to how the levels are set up, but I guess you could say that it works kind of like the original Super Mario Bros. in the sense that there are 8 worlds with 3 stages each (and each stage is generally pretty huge) and you progress from one to the next and can go back and re-do other stages etc. Each stage has its own end boss, so there are 24 bosses throughout the entire game. There are plenty of elements spanning from every Zelda game to date. The only reason single player isn't quite as fun as multi-player is because with multi-player you can interact with the other players (if you're playing with 2-3 players, you can steal a Link from them, swing at them, pick them up and carry them around, throw things at them or my personal favourite, pick them up and throw them into one of the spotlights around Hyrule Castle even though it kind of delays the entire group). There's also Tingle's Tower in multi-player games, and in each world there is one appearance of Tingle's Tower and one mini-game is added (so there are 8 Tingle mini-games in all including horse racing, monster hunting, chasing players around with the hammer and more).

This game is unbelievable and I recommend it to everyone, whether you're a hardcore Zelda fan or not.

Re: The *Official* FSA Buyer's Guide

yeah the games great, i just got to level 3 not in hyrule i mean like up in death mountain, its cool, i just have two questions:

-when the gameboy plug is in and you go into a house, do it appear on the actual gameboy, or does the gameboy screen pop up cause in my games it pops up on the tv not on the gameboy'

-not really a question more of a commment, i lopve every aspect of the game except that you can only hold one item at a time, besides pracelets, and you start each new segments/level thingy with 4 hearts, and no items from previous levels, i still think its fun, this weekend i gathered three more friends, oh man its going to be great.

First I'm trying to understand you with all your gramatical errors. What I can understand is you get a pop up screen on the T.V. whenever you go inside a house. This is happening because you are using a Gamecube controller. If you have a GBA/GC connector, you should connect both systems together, turn on your Gamecube first, quickly turn on your GBA, choose to have a GBA as your controller, and while you are playing (when you are inside a cave/house/ or anything of the sort) you should be able to see the action happen on your GBA. I hope I've helped you.

Re: The *Official* FSA Buyer's Guide

Hmm, well.... I'm having a hard time buying this. I know that it was based originally on the FS that came with ALttP, but I don't think it was smart for Nintendo to stick a game like this on a Gamecube disc. The graphics and overall size of the game could probably have fit onto a single GBA cartridge and I just don't have enough money to pay for a $60 game on GC that they could have sold for $30 on a GBA catridge. It seems like a grab for money, and they already have all my life savings, so unless there are some super long cutscenes of portions with 3D graphics, I just don't see the incentive to pay a whole $60 for this. If they do lower the price to that of a GBA cartirdge then I'll consider it, but otherwise it just feels like a rip off. =/

It's interesting that you should say that, because just about the only gripe I have with this game is that it doesn't feel like a Zelda game. It looks like one, and it sorta plays like one, but it doesn't feel like one. It feels more like... I'm not sure, just some generic kind of multiplayer party game, with a Zelda theme. I don't know why that is, or what I was expecting it to be like. Maybe I'm just resistant to change, and I will learn to love it.

I agree with Dark Grapefruit here. The game completely and totally lacked any sense of... Zelda, to me, in single player and multiplayer. Even tWW had more of it.

I totally agree with your $60/$30 idea. It was a rip off. The first time I saw the 3D graphics of Tetra's Trackers, I thought cut-scenes would happen throughout all three games. I also agree that FSA could have been made into a GBA cartrige, however there is this trouble about having to see the over-all view. What will happen when you go inside a house/cave? You wouldn't be able to see what's happening outside (and personally I think that is key). If you, or anyone, has noticed, when you go inside a cave/dark realm/house, the graphics seem to have deminished (does everyone know what I mean?).

Re: The *Official* FSA Buyer's Guide

That's because when you go in a cave or a house, it would be shown on your GBA screen. GBA doesn't have the graphical capability of GCN, thus, the graphics are diminished.

Well yeah, that would detract somewhat from your overall view of events during the game, but if I personally would still be looking down at my GBA and not at the TV when I went into the house, I can't look at both screens at once. It would be rather hard to hold my GBA right next to the TV in order to look at them both, since my TV is mounted high up on the wall. I'd just as much not see what was goin on outside than end up paying the $60, since the house GBA screen feature is the only real reason that this was on GC in my opinion.

Actually, now that I've gotten to some of the later levels, it's got some of that Zelda feeling back. The Pyramid of Power level especially feels like a dungeon from ALTTP, and not just because the pyramid was in that game. I think if you play it one player, it's more like a "real" Zelda game. But there's still something missing.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It is true that you can go back to previous levels to play them over again, but it isn't the same. In FSA you can go back, but, nothing will change. There aren't any side-quests or anything. The only things (I'm still talking about side-quests here) that resemble other Zelda games would have to be collecting items (the four hyrulian jewels) and saving people (maidens/ Malon) and their home-towns.
