So the fact that it's still done completely differently than before doesn't matter?

Yes, you still had to get three items, but they had nothing to do with the Master Sword. Also, you didn't have to awaken Sages after obtaining the Master Sword, either, while ALTTP, OoT, and WW all involve awakening Sages. Yes, TP's order may be the same, but the things you're doing and why you're doing them are in no way similar to the way it was done in ALTTP and OoT.

TP basically goes:

Get a powerful helmet. Oops. Zant just stole your stuff. Now go kick his ass and then kill Ganon.

Re: Ikana's Twilight Princess review.

No matter what the circumstances, the get 3, get MS thing is ridiculous. And I will shoot someone in the face if Z-Wii does it again. It was old since OoT.

Plot:
The plot was a mess. It's basically ALttP with a few lame twists. Zant was an awful character, and, at times, it felt like Midna stole the spotlight from Link, where it rightfully belongs. It felt like Link was merely a pawn. (This is also sometimes reflected in the gameplay)
Also, I'd like to say Midna wasn't exactly all the great of a character either. She had a jarringly fast change of heart and gave me such a feeling of blah that I couldn't help but wonder 'Am I supposed to feel for this blob?'

Audio:
Aside from a few new tracks and some clever references to past songs (wolf songs), I was severely dissapointed by TP's soundtrack. It had very little original material whatsoever. Another problem was sword impact sounds. It sounds like Link is whipping his enemies. What ever happened to the cool, visceral sound present in OoT and MM? It sounded like you were actually cutting flesh.
Alright, I'm going to put out my thoughts on this:
Hyrule Field
Malo Mart
Midna's Lament
I will give the game this, those music scores were amazing.

Wolf songs weren't always clear at times and I found had some annoying notes that were like half a tone off or just discordic.

As far as the sound effects go, I agree, and that's after turning off the wii mote speaker -before that it was way worse-

Overall:
In conclusion, TP has good points, though lacking in some gameplay elements. The uninspired story, chilidish art-style, and poor soundtrack greatly detract from what could have been an awesome experience. I award TP a score of 6.5/10.
Slightly different reasonings, but I'm gonna agree on the score.

Obviously I must be biased because I don't agree with the mass opinion that TP is a godsend. How? Not sure... I mean I played the game and all, but I have some sort of bias towards something and obviously didn't come to a conclusion after having experienced the game.

Better than rain or rippling brook...
Is a mug of beer inside this Took!
