Fishing Rod Trick?

According to a friend of mine, during the last boss fight with Ganondorf in TP, you can stand next to him, use your fishing rod and he will look over his shoulder, making himself vunerable. I never tried this(Back Slice FTW!) but he says it does work and it was a centerpiece of his victory. I dont really beleive him. Sure, he comes from the desert, but it's not like he's never seen a fishing rod befre. So i just wanted to know if this was the case.

I've never done it before, but have seen some videos... Yes, Ganondorf has a short attention spam, and opens his guard if you pull your fishing rod...

This. I always found it funny though, such an item useful in the final boss fight, that is.

Yeah I tried this on like my sixth play through. Worked quite well. I would rather beat him the normal way though.

Yes Ganon looks at the hook and line giving you the perfect opportunity to whack him with your sword. I actually use this trick every time when fighting with him. Makes it easier and faster since it's not my most top ultimate favourite fight so I just get past it as fast as I can. I'm impatient sometimes.
