Some of you might laugh at me for this
But Wind Waker is HAAAAAARD!
I remember I bought after I tried Twilight Princess, turned off initially by the cartoony thing. But I enjoyed Twilight Princess and wanted a new Zelda game. I saw Wind Waker on sale and decided to go for it. At first, I didn't like it. It was so different than all the others. Too silly and cartoony and Link just didn't feel like his old self. Got away from it for a while. Decided to try it again based on what I read about it in the Wiki (favorite thing to read on the computer), and started to really get into it. What I love about it is the puzzles are different and trickier than puzzles from other games and it's so huge. And I have to say the boss and mini-boss battles have actually produced a few game overs for me. And I'm ashamed to admit the both the earth temple and the wind temple required me to go online a few times to get out of severe jams. It's not easy for me to admit that a Zelda game has kicked my butt a few times. Especially with all these pros. But I will say that I'm glad I decided to give Wind Waker another shot. It might actually challenge Majora as my favorite title. PS, does anyone else find the dance that the windfall island guy does to be strangely hypnotic? It just... goes so perfectly with the music! |

Hahahahahah....Now that that's out of the way.
I actually agree that some parts in WW can be somewhat difficult, but even most of them are more tedious than difficult. Lack of motivation to do something does not make it difficult. Anyways, I can honestly say that a few parts got me a little frustrated, so you're not completely alone.

You were right. I am laughing at you.
Seriously, though, I found Majora's Mask to be a lot more difficult. I agree it's harder than Twilight Princess, what with having common enemies that can take more than 3 hits, but its certainly easier than anything that came before it. |

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
WW was pretty difficult for me the first time I played through it. Mostly because I didn't know exactly where to go in the great big ocean, so I got like intimidated. But that was seven years ago, now I can breeze through it. I can totally see where you are coming from, though.

Woah...really? How many times did you die? Cause I never saw the game over screen until I let Link go idle with an angry pig. It's like the opposite for me. I died a lot of times in TP because of all the "environmental" deaths. My Link was clumsy.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
The only difficult part in WW was searching for the Triforce Shards and charts, and I never died on that part, I just threw the controller on the ground in frustration a few times. Majora's Mask is by far the hardest Zelda game next to Zelda 2, but I still think that WW is really fun.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
I mean sure. There are points in both TWW and TP where I got really low on health. But what's the point? Go smash a pot or cut some grass and tons of hearts will gush out of no where. Not...so much in TP though. Some dungeons didn't have any hearts at all.
TWW's health always appears when you're dying, kind of like in ALttP/OoT if you kill something with one heart they'll give you a free fairy. But in TP, all the pots had something specific in them, they didn't give you hearts when you were dying. D= or evil orbs that spit out 12 hearts at a time.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
For me MM was the hardest Zelda. I remember when I was trying to cross the Deku Palace. At the time I was only around 8 or 9. And I was like, "♥♥♥♥. I fell again." And then there was Gyorg, who was the HARDEST video game boss I've EVER FOUGHT. And I've fought the Boost Guardian from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on GC.
TP was way too easy. I absolutely never died on it. The hardest puzzle for me was that wstupid statue puzzle before the Master Sword. It took me well over half an hour.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
Both TWW and TP were way too easy, the only moments I came only close to dieing was the last Ganondorf battle in TWW( didn't stock up fairies, and I missed all the parry attack) and the mid boss in the mansion dungeon on TP.
And yet those are not the easiest zeldas. The only zelda games I had any trouble with was zelda 1, 2, and a bit in ALTTP and MM.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
Any zelda game is hard the first time you play it. Not because of the enemies, but the puzzles. Well, except maybe TP, but that's because the game reused so much stuff from other games.
And I agree, gyorg was the hardest boss ever, and I beat boost guardian easily on hard mode. |

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
I never really thought of TWW as challenging. The only time I had to use a fairy on a boss was probably on Puppet Ganon. Although if TWW was one of your first Zelda games then I would understand if you thought it was hard, I though ALttP was hard the first time I tried it.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
MM was the most difficult for me, next to AoL. Damn, AoL is just out to kill me, I swear.
I didn't find WW that hard, except for those few moments. I love WW though. |

I found The Wind Waker to be slightly difficult, but, thats only because it was my second Zelda game. And difficulty is really based on the order you've played them in. Twilight Princess was my first Zelda, and it was the most difficult for me. Then The Wind Waker, and then Ocarina of Time, and I found them to be most difficult going to easier in that order listed. I really think the difficult IS based around what you played first, since its your first Zelda game, and your not sure what to expect, and your new to the puzzles, and everything.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
Oh yeah I completely forgot about that. I've played AoL to just about the first level, and then I absolutely lost the will to play it. Yeah, I have to say, that game was tough. But I wouldn't quite consider it because I haven't beaten it.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
No, not completely. I can replay the 3D games, TMC, and PH without dying once. I still get my ass kicked in LoZ and AoL, die in LA and OoX if I don't have a potion, and ALttP still provides a challenge. I only played FSA once, so no comment on that.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
I should've specified, the 3D Zelda's. Even if it isn't true, difficulty is still based around opinion.

Re: Some of you might laugh at me for this
AoL is hard. But the bosses are complete wimps. It's like a Zelda cliche, AoL's bosses were complete pushovers. Or perhaps I've spoke too soon. Either way, I agree Gyorg was kind of ridiculous. =/
