Playing GameCube games on the Wii

So my game cube controllers are all getting old. and as such they continually break down. i have tried buying third party controllers and they are all rubbish. so i decided to buy the nintendo wii retro controller. the one which connects to the wii remote and acts like a GC controller.

BUT it doesn't work for my GC games because the Wireless function switches off when playing GC games.

Any advice on what to do? do you know how to make my retro controller work, or any other solutions.

maybe there is a retro controller with a GC plug, instead of a Nunchuck plug?

For those interested i am trying to play my collectors edition of zelda, the one with OoT and MM

lol help?

It really sucks that we can't use classic controllers to play GC titles... I almost sold my old joysticks before getting to know this...

As far as I know, all you can do is buy a new GC controller, like Tigerboi said.

Re: Playing GameCube games on the Wii

I got my Gamecube controller at Gamestop, and it works perfectly. They usually have them.

Re: Playing GameCube games on the Wii

ask the creators of New Wii Play Control to make those games into New Wii play control .... thats what I would do with:

WW and FSA

If you cant find a new one at gamestop/eb games see if they have used ones. They come with a warrenty so if they dont work u can bring it back.

Re: Playing GameCube games on the Wii

Unfortunatly EB only has third party GC controllers in stock.

♥♥♥♥♥♥en Nintendo not making the retro controller GC compatible.

*Shakes Head*

Ebay may indeed be the only way i wll get a controller which may last.

Pawn shops in my area always have GC controllers. If you have any in your area you could try there.

Re: Playing GameCube games on the Wii

That's why it is best to care for your consoles and it's accessories at the first time you play them so that they last longer.

My best advice for you would be Ebay. They have everything for anyone.

Re: Playing GameCube games on the Wii

I just got a new GC controller from Amazon this spring. Still in package though since I have another one, but I wanted to get one now because when I need the controller they won't be selling them any more. It's an official Nintendo controller so no problem there.
