Discuss the Twilight Princess music

What did you think of the music in the game? I think we can all agree that City in the Sky's music was very repitive and annoying, and that Midna's Lament was one of, if not the best song in the game. Some music was the same 'ol, and other music was eerie, interesting, bright, happy, lots of different music in the game. discuss your thoughts on the overall music, and specific music pieces.

The girl in the concept art is the living/spiritual incarnation of the Master Sword. She will change between Sword and human at her own will at first, aiding you with tips, etc. (like Midna) in her human form, and then obviously being your sword in, well, sword form. Later in the game you will get the ability to change her between her forms by yourself.

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

The Zant battle sequence had kick-ass music. Blizzeta, the Forest Temple miniboss, and the Lakebed Temple miniboss had great and creative music. The other bosses had pretty good music, but died so fast you didn't get to hear it.
Castle Town was good. Malo Mart was fabulous. Hidden Village shootout was nine kinds of epic.
Lakebed Temple and the Twilight Realm dungeon (whatever its name was) had pretty cool music, but all the other dungeon themes were bland and repetitive.
Midna's Lament was nice but generic.
Minigame music was awful.
Everything not previously mentioned was pretty but wholly uninteresting.

Other games (besides PH, ugh) had smaller soundtracks but there was more good songs relative to total content.

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

Only about four or five pieces of music actually stood out to me from TP.

Kakariko is saved

Ilia's Theme

And two or three more that I forgot. Midna's Lament wasn't one of them. I think Impaz's theme was one of them though.

Yeah. That one is particularly funny yet awesome at the same time.
Castle town kinda got on my nerves though. It sounded too much like the OoT Castle town theme.
I really liked the Beast Ganon fight music. Its just kinda..i dunno, cool to me.

I dont think it was generic. It envoked a feeling of sadness. I like that tune quite a bit.
One of the more amusing and cool bits of music in the game was the Ook fight music. I dont know why, but it was pretty damn cool.

I wish the music was in something better then MIDI. There were still some effective tracks, though, with Midna's Lament being the standout one.

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

I thing Midna's desperation/despair/lament is a tad overrated. I like it, but I like her main theme more. =/ And the credit roll music was awesome. I've gone through the entire soundtrack countless times, and I like most of the songs. I thought the Twilight music was really eerie and surreal...but it grew on me quite a bit. I like.

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

I didn't like TP's music too much... It was kinda repetitive, and I got tired of hearing the main TP motif in just about every song.

But I guess if I had to pick a song, it would be the hybrid Hyrule Castle/Ganondorf theme. That song alone made the game like 20% percent better IMO, I guess because it reminded me of ALttP(Which by the way, has the BEST music of all the games.) The only other one I liked was the beast ganon theme.

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

I liked the music for the opening and closing themes. The Hyrule Field music in both night and day seemed catchy and memorable, so no over analytical rants or complaints from me on those. My biggest complaint was the overall dungeon music in TP. My basic gripe for WW as well. But yeah...TP could have done better in the dungeon music department IMO.

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

...Well I really liked the Wind Temple music from TWW. The others were very ambient though. But it should be easily noted (I'd know this more than most) That all 3D Zeldas are composed of two different types of music. The nice and the downright disturbing. D= TWW is no exception, every 3D Zelda has disturbing music files that are composed of screeching and ghostly ambience.

I would not go into Dodongo's Cavern because the music was scary as a kiddy. Then TWW copied the same music and pasted it right onto Dragon Roost's cavern. T_T

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

Good points. I generally liked the dungeon music in WW and TP pretty much the same. I tend to agree with your examples on sounds and ambience related things for sure. Still, in regards to just TP, the dungeon music was decent and tolerable overall. I just thought the music was far better elsewhere within the game itself like in some of the cutscenes.

I really do not understand how you guys could leave out the one that plays when Colin says "Link is coming." That piano piece just tore me in two. It was heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time. I will remember it to my dying day.

I also loved Hyrule Field's theme at first, but after a while the beats got really repititive and annoying. The final boss music did not disappoint me. It was downright epic. Especially during the fight with Ganon. I remember when I was fighting him and a friend was watching, he said the chant sounds like Homer from Simpsons saying "Get a job." I listened in for a bit to that song and started dying of laughter.

Some of my absolute favorite tracks are the overworld theme, Blizzeta's part theme, Midna's Lament, and too many others to count. However, I really wish they had used ALTTP's dark world theme for the Twilight Palace.

I thought Midna's Theme and The Hidden Village were the best. Midna's Theme was beautiful while Hidden Village was just catchy. :3

I loved the versions of Serenade of Water and Song of Storms.

I hated the music that played whenever an enemy approached though. It was so annoying.

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

I think the coolest musical aspect of the game was how Ganon's Theme started to build in intensity as you climb higher and higher throughout the final tower.

As you ascend from one floor to the other, more and more instruments are added into the mix, until it is finally at full orchestration by the time you reach the boss door.

I thought that was absolutely brilliant (not too mention how badass Ganon's Theme already is).

Re: Discuss the Twilight Princess music

Even though there was the whole "orchestra" deal surrounding Twilight Princess, I think Wind Waker's music was a lot better in comparison. Wind Waker seemed to have more original tunes, and even though I did nostalgasm at the Temple of Time in Twilight Princess, I would have appreciated a more complete soundtrack.
