I'm having SUCH trouble escorting Ilia and Ralis

It's nuts. I've had no real trouble with the game so far, haven't really died much or anything... but I'm getting game overs CONSTANTLY with this one. Not because I'm dying, but because Ilia's carriage keeps burning to the ground. I got past King Bulbin no problem, it's just the escorting through the paths.

I know everything I'm supposed to do - use the gale boomerang on the carriage when it's on fire (although half the time it feels like the boomerang misses it even when I'm targeting on it and am RIGHT next to it), I know I need to watch out for the birds because they drop the bombs and the riders with their arrows, but I just am having serious trouble being able to juggle all those balls. Most of my arrows at the birds miss unless I'm using the Hawkeye, but when I use the Hawkeye I slow down too much and it's just problem after problem.

Anyone have any advice or tips or tricks or anything to make it easier?

Re: I'm having SUCH trouble escorting Ilia and Ralis

i actually saw a video online that had a nice way of going at this part, i just could not get it without help. here's a suggestion- search on youtube "twilight princess escort" or something like that, and there should definitely be a strategy you see that you like. if i find the video i used i'll def. show you it, but my suggestion for now is to look at videos online and see which method (there are lots of different ways) you think works the best for you. good luck! also- always lock on with the arrow. don't just point and aim, lock it on, and don't use the hawkeye as it will limit your vision from the rest of what's going on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZbe5I2BJtQ that's an example of one of the videos i mean. trust me, they help better than text.

My theory for Zelda Wii-
The girl in the concept art is the living/spiritual incarnation of the Master Sword. She will change between Sword and human at her own will at first, aiding you with tips, etc. (like Midna) in her human form, and then obviously being your sword in, well, sword form. Later in the game you will get the ability to change her between her forms by yourself.

Re: I'm having SUCH trouble escorting Ilia and Ralis

I feel your pain, when I first played that part I had so much difficulty. I even cracked the you know whats and didn't play TP for a month, haha.

Then I discovered the lock on method, always used it in OoT & MM but couldn't work it out with the Wii Controls, once I discovered that it was easy.

Good luck though!

Ignore everything but the carriage and the birds. Use nothing but the boomerang.

Yep, He's ^ got it right. You just have to kind of...wing it, and concentrate only on the most important parts. They put so much stuff in there to distract you, and make it harder.

Just out of curiousity, do you have it for GC or Wii?

Well, I've died around three times too before I finally did it. Keep a watch on the carriage at all times. Take care of those Bulbins firing arrows at it, and ignore the ones attacking you (you can easily outdistance them with Epona).

Z-target the "birds" and shoot a bomb arrow at them. Also, make sure to always stay in front of the carriage and just ignore the Bulblins.

The boomerang is way more accurate than the bow, and it causes the bomb they carry to detonate on them. Hence "Use nothing but the boomerang."
And I find it much easier to stay behind the carriage.

Re: I'm having SUCH trouble escorting Ilia and Ralis

Well it seems this question has been well answered. I never knew some people actually had trouble with the escort mission in TP. I beat it rather easily the first time I played it.
