Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
Beautiful visuals, pitch-perfect controls, very few (if any) technical mishaps, incredibly diverse gameplay, and a gigantic campaign coupled by loads of side content
Basically what makes most video games a quality production. (note, I'm speaking about the GC version here)

TP's in-game graphics and it's art style both are pretty far from realistic.

TP had an old western theme to it. It's colors are appropriate for what it was going for. As for opinions on how pleasing or displeasing the colors were to the player, that's just your own view.

Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
...Nostagia is one of them.
Midna was by far the most blatantly indepth character in the series. The hidden skills were very fun to learn and master. The atmosphere of mystery and beauty of twilight was amazing and way more than original. The water effects are also more beautiful than anything a celshaded game can provide. Personally I loved playing as Link again, with a not so high-pitched childish voice. Double Clawshot was really fun. Stallord and Argorok were my favorite bosses ever. Princess Zelda look pretty for once. I liked the dungeon design of most levels The game was nice and long, main quest-wise The fact that this is one of the few Zelda games that puts meat between each dungeon is an amazing plus for me. I loved the horseback battles, it was an opening to directly helping and connecting to characters. Which is something that you don't find in OoT or TWW...but more so in MM and LA. It's a very special element to me. The spinner was really fun. The ball and chain was really really fun. I liked the snow boarding minigame. I did like sumo wrestling. The overworld was on land, which is good for anyone who hates the solid colored ocean overworld. There were bosses on the overworld Prince Ralis and Queen Rutela had a touching story I liked Telma a bunch, she was sooo...just wow. Barnes too. I liked the soundtrack, it was very different from the typical Zelda track. Sometimes Sci-fi It made me want to get 100% which is a feeling I NEVER had before. Being able to dive underwater is awesome. Being able to swim for more than a minute is awesome Loved every cutscene the game threw at me, even when I was angry for being confused. I greatly respect the cinematic direction. Dialouge was well written, kept my attention. New spins on old items were very unique, and I actually liked it. Adjustable/equip screen is back, and very very missed. Fishing is back and better than ever, I've spent an entire day just fishing in this game. Epona was awesome. I liked seeing Hyrule castle and all of it's freaky ghosts. Freaked me out though. Lizafos, Aerolfos and Darknuts looked freakin' awesome...and some actually fought pretty well. This is the first 3D Zelda game that had archer enemies, doesn't seem like a big deal...but it's a lot of fun dodging, blocking, deflecting arrows for hours. Probably one of my favorite past times in Zelda. Loved the design for the Zoras, and Zora's domain in general. Ontop of that Lake Hylia was amazing, just swimming across it was very pretty after years of celshaded blue water. The sci fi spin on the game was uncalled for, but I like it now. The game had it's difficult parts. Shooting arrows more accurately is an awesome plus, I can't go back to a GCN controller now. Zant was intimidating, and his theme song made me want to hide in the corner or something, I couldn't even believe I was scared of a Zelda villain while he spoke. This game still gives me goosebumps. The game moved me, just like every other Zelda game. Oh yeah, and don't bother trying to negate all of my statements because these statements are actually called "opinions" and thus cannot be proven wrong or right. Buuut according to every lick of statistic 94% of people would probably agree that TP had something great.

Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
First: Returning to the good ol' Hyrule. And I'm talking about Kakariko, Zora's Domain, Death Mountain, Lake Hylia and Castle Town.
Second: The Twilight. The blurry colors, the creepy music, the odd enemy design, all within the Twilight is just awsome and add a beautiful but deppresing atmosfere. Zant: Sure, is only a puppet, but, damn, the cinematic when he attack Hyrule Castle is the epicness incarnated Midna: I have to say it? Dungeons: Snowpeak Ruins. City in the Sky. Temple of Time. In my opinion, three of the best dungeons in the series, specially the frost mansion. Epona: You can use tu sword while riding in Epona. And this time without glitches or cheats!!! Basically, that's great about TP

Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
- Beautiful visuals
- Faron Woods. Seriously, ever gone for a ride on Epona through Faron Woods at sunset? - I also loved the Lost Woods, and the part where Link goes "back in time" to the old Temple of Time - Loved the Gerudo Mesa - Loved the Hidden Village shoot-out - The fishing was good fun, and I liked how the seasons changed with each visit. Catching that elusive Hylian loach added extra challenge - damn, that Rollgoal game took me forever to beat! Hena and Purdy were amusing as well. - Loved the boat trip down to Lake Hylia - Speaking of Lake Hylia, the view from the field just south of Hyrule Castle is amazing - Though I didn't like the soundtrack as much as some other Zeldas as a whole, the Faron Woods, Ordon Ranch, Lake Hylia and Gerudo Desert soundtracks were great - Midna had by far the most depth of any character so far - I loved the art direction for the Twilight zones - Being able to transform into a wolf was pretty cool - Using the Wiimote for archery allowed for a fantastic level of accuracy - Sumo wrestling was weird, but fun - Having five heart pieces to fill a container, instead of the usual four, added some extra challenge - Large Hyrule Market, with some amusing characters - particularly those two blokes outside the doctor's building at night - The quest to retrieve Ilia's memory was fun - Speaking of which, so was the quest to get Ilia and the injured Zora to Kakariko village - The cutscenes were amazing - I liked the "duels" with that great, green moblin, particularly the one on Eldin bridge. It was cool how he finally spoke in the end. - Midna's transformation at the end was stunning - The Light Spirits were cool - Snowboarding on Snowpeak |

Nope. The wii version.
I'm guessing you thought that the wii version was ridiculously difficult. ![]()

Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
Yep. Really difficult. I think I only got past world one as well.
Aren't you supposed to get a special frog bait for beating it?

Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
I have yet to find out. I think after you beat all the levels, it goes to medium difficulty. It starts at 1-1, etc, then 2-1, etc, then 3-1, etc, or something like that.

Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
what ^ said, the final ones are 8-# the time limit then is I think 35 seconds. after you beat the final 8-# whats her name is will fill up your rupee bag to the max(...yay...), and any time you want to play it you get to choose what level you want to beat.

Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
It's insanely difficult to complete the entire Rollgoal game, ie. 8 times, to the end. The satisfaction I felt after beating it was worth it though - that's the true reward, really, rather than having your bag filled with Rupees (since they're easily obtainable anyway, thanks to Agatha).
More things I liked about Twilight Princess: - The field north of Kakariko Village, with the boars and moblins. The part where you battle Ganon on horseback in this area was rather spectacular, too. - I actually had quite a bit of fun tracking down the poes and golden bugs. I don't mind "collecting" sidequests. - I liked the characters of Telma and Renado, and their one-sided "relationship" - The Cave of Ordeals provided some additional challenge - I found it amusing how the postman would pop up in the most unexpected locations - including the aforementioned Cave of Ordeals! - The latter half of the game included some very interesting and unique dungeon designs, ie. Yeti's mansion, City in the Sky. - I loved Yeta and Yeto as well - their characters were rather interesting - Also, I loved the occasional "life-or-death" situations in Twilight Princess - ie. when it's possible to die instantly, if you don't move quickly enough to avoid the flames. These include the bridge over Lake Hylia, Barnes' warehouse in Twilight Princess and (I think) the boar compound near the Arbiter's Grounds. - I liked being able to combine bombs and arrows - The battle against Stallord was ridiculously fun |

Re: Turning the Tables: What the hell is so great about TP?
XD
Uh, WW had controls that were nearly as good. Improvement of controls in a physical sequel (i.e, it was the next 3D Zelda) isn't anything to be happy about. XD I'm serious, this one made me laugh. Sure TP had some improvements in diversity from some past Zeldas (not even all of them), but it was far from "incredibly diverse". And much of it was pretty unoriginal. ... XD Yeah, almost everything that makes a game good, except for originalort and a good soundtrack. This. And the Double Clawshots in the City in the Sky. Those were just about the only things I actually liked about TP.
