And IGNIS, it might be a good idea if, instead of giving out game consoles as prizes, you gave out more prizes (maybe this time, 1-5, or even 1-10 ). Think about it, if you're gonna ask yet another forum to join, there'll be a lot of entries. And giving people a higher chance to win prizes gives people more incentive to join.

EDIT: If you must offer consoles, make handhelds an option as well. I'd chose a DSi.

I'm not sure if I want to expand the prizes to the 5th or even 10th places. I'll think about it, but I strongly believe the top 3 are the ones who are worthy of the prizes. Of course, if there happen to be just a ton of participants (approaching 100), then I'll definitely have to consider this more carefully.

It's likely there'll be a lot of participants if you invite another forum.

Yeah, there will be alot of entries if other forums join. There should be more judges if it goes that way.
I'll probably join the next Boss contest, i have a really good boss idea in mind. Even so, i wasn't that bad on the first contest, received 6th place.

Also, what i think would be great is giving the top 5 or top 3 winners the boss designer banner in the next contest.

I only proposed to have the 1st place winner wear it for a month, though. Let's see if I can really get it running next time, and I'll consider if more people can have it.

Ever since my epic Bidoof E3 banner made the cut, everyone has been (or was it you who made the life guard one too?) trying to make more and more banners.

No, I'm pretty sure that only one person deserves that banner.

It should stay with the first person, and no-one else.

I was wondering if it is possible for the person who posts their entry for the contest, can also provide their own artwork along with description of the boss. Perhaps even artwork of the battle arena as well.

And if you are allowed, are there any specific rules? For example, the number of images you can have, the size of them, etc. And also rules such as if the art has to be solely of your own creation, or can you photoshop other images to help give the reader the general impression of your idea?

Artwork is not forbidden. However, it will not help your entry beyond helping the judges to visualize the *whatever you drew*.

I myself will stick to words, since I suck *** at drawing.

Like Double A said, artwork is allowed though it is neither encouraged nor discouraged. Supposedly, images should have minimal to no influence over the judging, but this is not something I'm completely sure of . People can go as far as getting images from google and posting something that resembles their design. Whatever works.

Okay, good to know. Sometimes when I'm doing something that involves some sort of creative writing, I like to make an image just for myself to look over, but for this, I think it would be helpful if I did show a image. Thanks both to you and Double A for your answers.

I thought the boss contest was finished months ago, and this was like, a second version or something. Does it not seem like this contest has been in limbo for forever?

Yeah, the first contest was finished ages ago. I came fourth.

"Est. 2004
The First and Original Legend of Zelda Boss Concept and Contest Thread" refers to the time this forum event started and claims that it's the first boss event to ever happen. I'm not entirely sure if the latter is true since someone else may have established this event elsewhere, I don't know. This one started out at the official NOA forums, Nsider in 2004. There's been more than 10 contests already and the latest one, Nsider2 Debut + ZU connection ended last July (?).

The next proposed event is "Lupus." I don't know if I'll leave the title as that yet.

Seriously, though-- I think I'll take care of a few things this weekend to see what's the best time to get this started.

Since it's presumably starting soon, I started on the (rather lengthy!) backstory for my boss.

I still stand by my suggestion of adding maybe two more prizes .
