ZWii Game Play Differences?
With the new Zelda game coming out for the Wii, I find myself wondering: Since Shiggy said that TP was the '...last Zelda game of it's kind...', does that mean there's going to be some serious gameplay differences from the previous games? I mean besides the obvious changes with the Wii Motion Plus.
Will there be a jump button and an increase of platforming? Will Link gain an actual personality and interact with the other characters like we interact with each other? Will there be-- -- VOICE-ACTING?!?!?!?! *bum**bum*buuuuuum* So what do you think ZWii game-play would be like (ASIDE FROM THE Wii Motion Plus)?

Re: ZWii Game Play Differences?
TP dungeons felt like,
solve a puzzle- fight mini-boss and get item- use item to beat boss- rinse repeat. Which was fine, because it was a gamecube game and I wasn't expecting too much. But for wii I want a new generation zelda game. I think nintendo wants people to use there imaginations for links personality and everyone's voice. Every time I see a the fake zelda movie trailer I cringe at the voices because there not what I think they should be like. I want too see a zelda game that I'm getting reward for all my side quests and exploring, other than the orange rupee I can't take or the odd heart piece. And when your fighting a enemy or boss you can choose from several ways/strategies of defeating it, Instead than using the Item you just got. As for jumping, as long as it doesn't mess with my mad rolling I can't see a problem. I think the gameplay won't be vastly change, but just improved with a lot of new shiny features. |

Re: ZWii Game Play Differences?
I would personaly love to witness Link utter one word not just a nod or pause. I am definatly ready to have some voice acting too. And I agree with The_Stig The zelda series has taken on a pattern and it makes the game less enjoyable. I know when I enter a temple what I have to do, there are not many suprises anymore... I would love to see more temples like the Ice Cavern from OoT. In the game I want some temples that are simple, border-line sidequest, and then some that have many mini bosses. And the bosses should have multiple strategies that can be used to defeat them. The zelda series needs some new twists that will suprise all of us!

I think that this game is going to be BIG. I mean BIG.
Something revolutionary to the series like how OoT was revolutionary for it's time. I want a completely open overworld, without loading transitions.

Re: ZWii Game Play Differences?
I want Nintendo to come up with original and varied gameplay.
I don't care about the formula, I just want original dungeons which are either long and few, or short and many (TP and MM failed in this regard). Maybe take a leaf from Okami and integrate the dungeons more into the overworld. I want a more open overworld. TP's stone walls made Hyrule field seem closed.

Re: ZWii Game Play Differences?
I might be the odd Zelda fan but I love exploring the towns and talking with the people so I would love more towns with cool buildings and more interactions with people and stuff like that. And more stuff to buy with all those accumulating rupees.

Re: ZWii Game Play Differences?
I want a Fallout 3 like Zelda game, post apocalyptic after a huge war or something aha MM had the right idea but we prevented it from happening,
Won't ever happen though. So next best thing, more inetresting NPCs that roam around otuside of Hyrule and have tasks to complete and basically just have a life(Like MM did except outside the fortifications and have them be able to attack enemys and get killed but they can't be important if they die.). Perhaps add choice dialogue as well(Like Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Fable etc.) Basically a Zelda RPG with all the action and adventuring as a normal zelda game. This prob won't happen or be liked but something like that is wha I consider a good drastic change from the old formula. Perhaps even having everybody talk but Link. |
