Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

It feels kinda like a new and good gaming experience. But i don't care much about the train. As long the game has every thing it needs. Its great. Probably it will work out perfectly, or the other way around. The train idea will work out based mostly on how good the storyline is. Just gotta wait for it.

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

I didn't much like the steamboat in Phantom Hourglass, it was slow and boring and empty.
If the train is as similar to the steamboat as it looks, I'll probably not like it much either.

I don't give a care that it's a train, if that's what you're asking, I'm just worried it'll be boring like the boat in PH.

As long as we get to see Link slice up Zelda with the train, I don't even care.

I was kinda worried at first but now it's sort of cool. I mean seriously I couldn't have imagined him riding a boat either. I know it's weird. :/

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

I don't see what the big deal is. Link's sort of already ridden in a train before anyway in OoX and I think LA too. Granted those were coal cart things in dungeons, but still there on tracks.

I'm not too sure about it. I'll give my final comments on it when the game comes out.

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

The train idea is okay, I just don't want to be stuck on the train for long
periods of time. Zelda is about exploring the world on foot (or horseback)

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

It all depends on how well this new train works with gameplay, the storyline, etc. Now, some may be worried due to the technology involved. Some may want Zelda to stay in the medieval era and not move forward technologically at all. Granted, I am kind of like this. However, what we all have to accept is that the direction TWW has taken is leading the series forward in storyline as well as technologically. We had the sailboat in TWW, a boat with an engine in PH, and now there's the train in the upcoming ST game.

Now, I was a little turned off when I first saw the train in the trailer. It felt somehow wrong. Yet, at the same time, I thought it was cool. It was kind of weird looking, but it'll just take some getting used to. I think it could work, if Nintendo decide to let it. Executed wrong, it'll be just as boring as sailing in PH, or even TWW. Yet, it could still be fun, if executed right.

So it depends on Nintendo. My thoughts, anyway.

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

i think im more concerned with those hunt portions of the game zelda tends to have. like collecting the triforce shards in ww or finding the sky writing letters in tp. i dont really like those parts and i think its a waste nintendo could do sumthing much better at those points in the game

I'd like to say that the letters in TP was actually quite a fun part of the game for me. I don't know why, but I enjoyed moving the owl statues, exploring the area, and was glad it was marked on the map, of course. TWW's Triforce hunt was more boring, and I even enjoyed that to an extent. Mostly because I went from square to square, getting each marked, and exploring each island. I do seriously think it could have been better, but it could have been worse as well.

As for ST having something like that, it depends as to what it is, what it has you do, and where it has you go for me. I wouldn't mind it so much if it's all in one general area, rather than having it so that it's spread out over a vast land mass, with only a few guiding directions. Again, if ST has this.

I wont lie i did not mind it at all on my first play thru. But now that im goin thru it for the second time i find it was put there as a tedious chore. It could have been way more exciting in both TP and WW. It feels like a rushed part of the game that wasnt thought out, just made to add length. If they gave sum kind of mini quest that maybe revealed more back story on characters or had sum kind of unique element or minigame to getting them then i feel it would be so much better. Pretty much its put there that as sumthing u must accomplish just to proceed to the next phase of the story. In WW it was better tho because it opened up the map and i did alot of island traveling at that point. But, i still havent done my second play thru yet im waiting to finish TP first.

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

I'm fairly neutral becaue it doesn't really matter what Nintendo does, their games are awesome.
I tend to cheer the train on especially because of low-IQ whiners, though. They want something different, Nintendo does so, they whine. Yet they also whine if Nintendo does the same.

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

I was really surprised when I saw the train, but just that, surprised, I don't have any problems in the slightlest, I actually think a train fits quite well with the Zelda series, especially in one of the Cel Shaded games, wich seem to have a slightly more advanced technology.

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

I... don't like it. It makes it seem more like a train game than a Zelda game. I had the same problem with Wind Waker. They said it wasn't going to be all boat, but the majority of time I spent playing Wind Waker was spent traveling via boat. It's the same issue here. I don't want the majority of gameplay to be on a train, which is why I am probably not going to buy it. It takes away from the other, good parts of the game. I was so mad at Wind Waker that I actually stopped playing for a year and contemplated breaking the disk in half.

I don't like the direction these games are going in at all. To me it's more like a Zelda spin-off than actual canon.
