If they gave sum kind of mini quest that maybe revealed more back story on characters or had sum kind of unique element or minigame to getting them then i feel it would be so much better. Pretty much its put there that as sumthing u must accomplish just to proceed to the next phase of the story. In WW it was better tho because it opened up the map and i did alot of island traveling at that point. But, i still havent done my second play thru yet im waiting to finish TP first.
I guess it could have been made a little more exciting, but not by much. It's nothing but going around and collecting things. It was made a lot simpler in TP than in TWW due to no seas to travel and no charts to spend money on deciphering. Yet I can't see adding too much more depth to these quests, since there's not really much to them. This might be able to be fixed in ST, I suppose, if Nintendo decide to put some interesting twists, backstory, etc. there.

This goes back to what I've been saying: TWW took a turn for technological advancement. We had a sailboat in TWW, an engine in PH, and now a train in ST. It could get to the point of guns as well as other things at some point, if it keeps moving at this rate.

They said it wasn't going to be all boat, but the majority of time I spent playing Wind Waker was spent traveling via boat. It's the same issue here. I don't want the majority of gameplay to be on a train, which is why I am probably not going to buy it. It takes away from the other, good parts of the game. I was so mad at Wind Waker that I actually stopped playing for a year and contemplated breaking the disk in half.

I don't like the direction these games are going in at all. To me it's more like a Zelda spin-off than actual canon.
How is it more like a "train game"? We don't know too much about the game yet, since it has yet to actually come out, so this is a big assumption. TWW did take to the seas, and PH was a little better, or so I thought, since you drew a path and didn't have to worry about wind direction. In my opinion, Nintendo implemented this well. So, it would go to figure that, if done right, the train would be just as good, if not better, right?

And I really wouldn't let a train's presence talk you out of buying a Zelda game. Again, it's hard to tell at first glance what the gameplay and train itself will be like. Since Zelda is generally a good game series, otherwise you wouldn't be here on this forum, I would at least give it a sporting chance. At least try borrowing it from a friend or something first.

And how isn't it canon? What, then, makes Zelda game material canon?

When Link popped his head out of the "cockpit" in his conductor's uniform...

I squealed.

With happiness, of course.

I think it's full of freakin win. Especially paired up with that adorable conducter's outfit. Cuteness to the max.

I doubt I'll play the game, though, seeing as I don't especially care for handhelds, and don't own a DS.

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

I'm only worried about it being boring. I for one am plenty happy with walking long distances. While boring it doesn't feel as forced as a train or a boat. I like the horse because it helps you move faster, but you don't have to use it if you don't want to (minus a few spots). With the boat in PH and now the train in ST it is a forced action. Taking away freedom. But I will leave my final thoughts to when I play they game. I figure if it's like the boat form PH, while I'll hate it, it won't ruin the game. Just make it slower. (I'm more concerned about the game being really easy).

Re: How you feel about Link riding a Train?

A train would be a nice alternative to walking, but I don't want it to be what it looks like. I feel as if we'd be even more limited in our paths than we were in Phantom Hourglass, and that's terribad.
