Of course, a horse is shown in the trailer, so most of the travel will probably be on land. But with the new graphical style, imagine the water effects that could be used! I'd like to see at least a few destinations which you would have to reach by boat.
Now this is a good idea. I would also like to use a boat on small sections of the next game as well as sections of horse riding

No. Why make a new thread on something that there's already a thread for?

Oh, and your idea is awful.

Re: Transportation?

After viewing the new trailer I would like to see different forms of transportation. Though your ultimate use of transportation will be your horse (possibly Epona?), it would be nice to see others as well as a boat and a horse. Maybe some sort of flying (Thinking leaf or something close to that).

And yes, those idea's you both made, weren't all that good, but best of luck to you both.

heh heh.....Just trying to put an original idea for you to feast on. I just thought that this time they should try something completely different, other than a horse or a boat, that's exactly why my favorite mode of transportation is the goron roll!

Re: Transportation?

Wait, multiple animals? ...Wasn't that in the Oracles games? Like kangaroos, bears, and what seems to be large reptiles? Heck the idea is not bad by itself since it worked out fine on the GBC, but I'm not sure about the GCN...

Re: Transportation?

like a lot here i want to see an air-based mode of transportation. an eagle, typically.
that could be the basis of a whole string of elements, such as air combat or reaching out-of-the-way places both for storyline and subquest reasons.

Close, but no cigar. First, the large reptile is a dodongo. Second, you could have only one animal, out of three. You could ride all of them, but only as a temp, not like epona. That would be cool though, Three different animals.

Re: Transportation?

Oops, I couldn't recall the name at the moment But the thing is, Although you could only choose one, there was the choice of choosing. In OoT, MM, and TWW, you couldn't choose your transportation at all. I'm just saying that the posibility of using different animals has already been used on the Oracles games. It's not like I'm gonna be against it or anything, but it's kinda out of place in a GCN game....that looks like OoT so far...

Re: Transportation?

I think it would work...like maybe you could have some sort of calling device for each one...and nintendo made 3-D epona...so diffrent 3-D animals shouldn't be too hard (or too stupid)

Re: Transportation?

Errr...In the Oracles, that's exactly how you would call "your animal"...Don't kill me, but I'm more of an Epona fan than of other animals...It's just that the game could get to be very odd if you could call a huge eagle or even an elephant. Zelda is placed in a medieval realm and that's just how I like it. Besides, it doesn't make sense that Link has to go through a whole dungeon to get an item if he could just ride on an animal to get there...

Re: Transportation?

The animals wouldn't be like oracles with a bear or a kangaroo (with boxing gloves) they would somehow fit The style of this new game.

Re: Transportation?

Since this is about Transportation and it's in the Future Zelda section, I'd like to discuss if there could be transportation in the new Minish Cap game. Considering that Link is very small, probably insects could be his way of transportation. He'd pilot on a dragonfly for the skys, ride a mouse on the ground, and maybe a ride on a very small sea turtle to dive into the water. These are just ideas.

As for the Link in Zelda2005, I'd have to say that he's going to stay with a horse in 3D Zelda games. It just seems to me that all the 3D games are more mature than the ones on the Gameboys. And like someone mentioned earlier, Zelda is sorta taken place in medi-eval times, so the closest thing I could see Link having is a hawk (yes trained hawks were used during this time). It all depends if Link's hawk is going to be an overgrown hawk that he can ride on/attack with, or a normal sized hawk where he could use it to stun enemies/scout ahead (like the seaguls in tWW).

Re: Transportation?

I really can't picture link on a bear, no matter how cool it looked. Same goes for a kangaroo with boxing gloves.
