Do any of you think that we'll see Zelda on D.S?

Hello everyone,

nintendo has announced that there will be 30 titles available to the D.S. These titles will probably be titles with nintendo's mascots along with unique other mascots. There was speculation way back that capcom was working on a gameboy Zelda title. Now, how many of you think that there will be a zelda game displayed on the nintendo D.S? I think we might see one. What are the peoples opinion on this subject?

I don't see why not. The only idea that I have is the third Oracle game Nintendo intended to make (but thought it would be too confusing for the password-linked game delima) and have Ferore in it of course. If not then they could create the game with a storyline that will clearly link the timeline from Four Swords to ALttP.

There is a very good chance that Zelda will be in there and a very little chance that it won't. I don't know what it is going to be like. For all we know the supposed Wind Waker 2 will be on D.S

If there isn't a new Zelda on DS, there will definitely be connectivity options to link up to the GC or maybe the GBA (though I'm not sure how a DS/GBA link-up would work). You can bet they won't leave Zelda out on this one =) Even if there isn't a new DS Zelda when it first comes out, they'll make one eventually. They usually wait a while after a new system comes out before they release a Zelda game for it anyhow.

I'm almost positive that we'll see a Zelda game on the DS.
I mean , why wouldn't Nintendo make a game that'll probably sell good thus making them money.
That's what it's all about , money.
And if money can be gotten , Zelda will be there (Just as countless of other game series by the way).

Nintendo's 3rd Piller, now called Nintendo Dual Screen. It has two screens, may have N64 graphics, is a portable system, and may have a touch screen.

And of course, I think Zelda will be on it. I think there isn't really a chance that it will be a launch title, but who knows?

Most likely with the kind of design of the ds a zelda game is a most definet. Heh just thought there'll be a thread with whats the next gameboy zelda gonna be

I bet we will since nintendo seems to be trying to put out as much zelda stuff as they can, but since the most recent zelda items (FSA, WW) I haven't been too excited for, i won't be getting the DS.

Yo can bet to see a lot better graphics and advanced controls. There's no doubt that this sysetem will kick butt!

I'd bet money against seeing a unique DS release Zelda title. Nintendo almost always keeps Zelda as bait for "promise of good things to come", usually also allowing Nintendo to polish up the game instead of rush it out the door. We'll see mascots from the mario family most likely (Mario 64x4?) but I doubt Zelda, Nintenod tries to save the best for last. Heck, the only "recent" example where a Zelda game could be considered a launch game would be Link's Awakening DX for GameBoy Color but I don't think that exactly counts considering it wasn't a unique game or even a unique system.

They already said they were looking into the DS for Zelda, right? Isn't that a sign there will be a game for it?

What would be terrible is if they use gameboy graphic type thing with it (You know, those 2D over head view games). Well, it wouldn't be terrible, because I absolutly love Zelda that way, but it'd be kinda dissappointing. Then again, I'm starting to think that the 3D graphics will look really small on there. A 3D Zelda game would be hard to do with such a teensie little screen.

Oh well, we'll see what they have in store for Zelda. I'm sure it'll be awesome.

They already have Metroid in 3D, and if they can do Mario 64 fairly well in 3D then a Zelda game isn't out of the picture. I guess there I'd only be worried that they'd make another N64 -> DS port and we'd just get a DS tweeked OoT or MM. There will probably be a unique game just for the DS. GameBoy had LA, GameBoy Color finally got OoS and OoA (I don't count LA DX becuase it wasn't unique), and GBA is finally getting its own unique Zelda game through tMC (LttP/FS I don't really count either as FS is too short and requires other players to be its own game and LttP is obviously not unique). Judging from that pattern we probably won't see a completely original (or at least very close) Zelda game for the DS until well into its lifespan. Certainly would be awesome if one came sooner though

I would say that there most likely will be a Zelda for DS. If you have a Mario, a Metroid, a Sonic, and a Bomberman DS on the way, I think it's safe to say that we'll see a Zelda sooner or later.

I am sure Nintendo will make a Zelda for DS. Why wouldn't they? If they are gonna have Mario and games like that, it is pretty much certain that a Zelda Title will be released. Except for old school GB, there has been a Zelda Title for all the other handheld systems, so there will be one for DS.

Actually I think that the original version of Link's Awakening was for the original GB (the DX version being for GBC).

Nope.. not at all new.. I think it's a new system in itself.... and it can play alot of bits

I saw stuff from E3... you can like paint somehow, and yes, it has a touchscreen. You sort of paint with some pen-looking device that you touch the screen with. It looks really great, and I saw some sort of 3D Mario game on it, looked really good. A new Metroid too.

God I sure hope the make one for it. Imagine a 3d (or maybe 2d) zelda adventure you can play anywhere!
