RPG zelda-good or bad?

Whatever it is. I think the shoe wouldn't fit all the same. The same goes equally for a Zelda MMORPG.

If the dramatic change in gameplay is a success then maybe it will
make Myomutoson (asian maker guy) to start looking forward into the zelda series.

Im not saying completely change the layout and gameplay and everything else
That make zelda games fun. MM is a good example. Not my favorite...
But when i got bored of replaying all zelda games alike, i turn to the games that are
different

A Quest for Glory style rpg, where you have such stats as strength, luck, weapon skill, parry, shield et. al would be cool. You could either work out or kill monsters and the more action you saw the more strength etc. you would recieve rather than a point system like FF or AoL.

Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea if it was one of the hand-held games, as opposed to a core game.

What's the difference between RPG and Zelda? Isn't it already RPG? I dunno... Someone please tell me.
Final Fantasy is RPG, but I don't see the difference between it and LOZ.

You don't raise stats and stuff in Zelda. That's pretty much it.

Wouldn't mind but it would be cool leveling up and aquaering spells,and having bigger purpuse for saving rupees.But I like zelda the way it is.

I think it could work. I mean if sonic can pull it off why can't Link and the rest of the gang?

No, I don't want VERY different. I want Zelda to stay an adventure game, there's no need to change genres.

And seriously, how can RPG games have better gameplay than Zelda games? In Zelda games, you execute the moves yourself and move the character around freely. In RPG games, you generally use menus and such to attack and use magic and that's not as exciting as doing it yourself. Turn based battles? YIKES.

Senap: Ever played Sonic Chronicles? trust me sometimes when i was playing that i forgot it was an RPG. Anyway i don't think Zelda should switch to an all RPG franchise but a few games(maybe a trilogy) would be a nice change of pace.

Amen. I think Zelda's fantasy-style and more free gameplay balances it out between a geekier game and a wider-audience game. Excuse the labelling.

I'm sorry, I haven't gotten into any Sonic games.

However, I have tried a few Mario RPG games and while they have been good, I haven't been able to get into them fully. It's something about the whole RPG system in games that puts me off - even though I consider myself to be a Final Fantasy fan (Loved FFXI!). Maybe it's because FF is a real RPG series.

I did not mean RPG as in the complete turn by turn fighting.
I meant more like Kingdom hearts.

You get freedom and control, but lvl up your move's and attack.
Maybe even gain new abilities. Sound better?

In Japan, Action Adventure games are considered toned-down RPGs...and that's basically what Zelda is. It's an RPG without all the bleh.

Just so you know RPG does not mean turn based. Many RPGs these days have real time action. AoL was an RPG, probably one of the first RPGs. Dx

To me RPG is role playing game, as in more Oblivion less FF

I think it would be a good idea! But not when the bad guys remain very easy to handle, as it was with TP-- they never got harder to defeat.

In RPG's the enemy's get harder.
In Oblivion, everyone lvl's up with you.
Evan the regular people and gaurd's.
