How do you know it's Link's train? In PH the boat was Linebeck's but Link was using it.

Well, he's wearing a conductor's uniform and so far there was no one around except for his Phantom buddy. Unless you want to say, that the train belongs to the Phantom, which is highly doubtful, it's a safe bet to assume, it's Link's train.

But I don't see a problem in him having his own train. Is he not worthy enough for an own train or what? xd

If he's worthy of his own boat and his own horse then he's worthy of his own train.

When your friends saved you the one man(i forget his name,he had like an old underwater diving suit on and you met him on top of a giant rock pillar in lake Hylia and he helped you get to Gerudo Desert)anyway,he saves you with a bazooka or rocket launcher like thing.I think it shot bombs though.

His name was Auru. And I don't think that the "bazooka" was that technologically advanced. It was just some sort of bomb launcher.

Oh, and a steampunk Zelda would be fantastic. I think they could really do something cool with a steampunk game. I guess ST could be thought of as the first few steps on the way to such a game.

Re: ZOMFG TRAIN!? WTF ARE THEY THINKING?

Zelda's always flirted with technology from the first time bombs appeared to the many examples listed in this topic. Trains are no big deal. Creativity should never be limited by something as silly as ITS GOTTZTA STAY MIEDEAEVIL

I don't like the idea of trains either, but so what if they would have them?
When talk of a steam-punk Zelda got around, everybody had their own opinions. We will never all agree with each other. The best thing to do is to agree to disagree.

This... is a pretty rational fear.

However, we aren't completely sure of anything yet. For all you know, the towns could have enough exploration to satisfy you.

I agree with the train is a horrible idea that Miyamoto probably is ruining the series.

But not that trains in general are bad for the series... just that they seem to think, "boat", "horse", "train" are the right ideas to make Zelda progress.

Um, the trailer? Zelda appeared in it, which means it's in Hyrule. Princess Zelda hasn't been seen anywhere in the Zelda series but Hyrule.

Anyway, I like the idea of the train. It looks new and interesting.

Fixed it for you. But seriously, how is a train more advanced than, say,
  • moving bombs
  • remote controlled bombs
  • bombs in general
  • a bazooka
  • neon lights
  • cannons
  • floating cities
  • goron mines' magnets
  • FREAKING GOHT!
  • Jukebox
  • Telescope
  • Great Bay
Answer this and I will take you people that think the train is ruining Zelda seriously. Even if the train does stink, though, it's one game, I mean, come on.

They have built games around gimics since OOT.
OOT: Switching between child and adult, playing the ocarina.
MM: yes the game you all praise has two, count em, two! Gimmics, they are masks and a repeating three-day structure.
OOX: Fairly obvious.
WW: Sailing.
FSA: Multiplayer.
MC: Shrinking.
TP: Twilight Realm, wolf Link
PH: look at the title.
ST: Trains, controlling a phantom.

That's good reasoning, but doesn't make it 100% fact. Nintendo may decide to break the tradition.

where is there a jukebox and neon lights?Moving bombs in tp were animal bug things.the goron mine's magnets were special rocks.the telescope is actually older than you think,at least compared to a train.the floating cities were on giant fans and good architecture, nothing the first race of the world cant handle.Bombs are older than a train too.wtf is with the great bay,its a giant wood thing over a natural cut into the side of a piece of land.not too hard to create.and also you have to think, they didnt discover everything like us,they couldve disovered firearms before they even thought of a simple clock.

I think he meant great bay temple with all the moving gears and pipes and such. The neon lights and juke box are in the bomchu bowling alley.

Re: ZOMFG TRAIN!? WTF ARE THEY THINKING?

Neon lights are in the Milk Bar, can't remember if it had a jukebox. And I think cities floating on a giant fan is pretty dang advanced. Other radical examples like those include Goht, like he said, and Gohdan. You think the Gods would use this advanced technology for something better than beating up 12 year olds. Steamboats and Trains fit fine within Zelda, which has always put an edge in its fantasy.
