Din's Fire doesn't do jack against bosses or keese, the only two groups a large-area spell seem more useful than a spin-attack for. Farore's Wind never stays in rooms I want it in and saving, quitting, and reloading gets you out of dungeons faster and cheaper. None of the battle situations are frantic enough to warrant Nayru's love rendering it only useful against Ganon himself (and then it's still more reliable to just leave it off and roll under him). Those spells were crap. |

Re: Magic
He needs his wands/rods back.
Fire and Ice Rods were pretty cool. Maybe he could be able to put different kinds of elements through a single, magic rod type thing. But I like the idea of magic in Zelda, but most of the time, it's done in such a way that it's not enough (Ocarina of Time), and another time it was done too much (Link to the Past). Wind Waker would have had a balance if the Fire and Ice Arrows weren't completely useless for puzzles.

Re: Magic
I'd like Link to use magic as an "enchantment"(not permanent, but like a timed power boost). Instead of having the "Fire Arrows" or "Ice Arrows" you could choose to combine fire or ice with any (or most) of Link's weapons. Ice boomerang? Fire hammer? Electric Master Sword? Why not?

Re: Magic
I don't know, I normally don't like items, that waste something. Like the bow. I only use the bow, if I must. The same goes for magic items, I always prefered if the game doesn't have a magic bar, but magic items, that don't need any magic jars or whatever to be powered. Like items for puzzle solving. Because otherwise I can't really enjoy those items, because I always have the urge of refilling the magic bar. And we don't really need any powerful spells. So, I'm fine, that we didn't get any magic since The Wind Waker.

Re: Magic
What about Powered Gaunlets? (eg. Fire, Ice/Water, Wind, Earth). You can use them to do different things, eg. manipulate the elements. Imagine a water temple that invloves freezing and melting to complete it (like MM, but on a much larger scale).

By the way, no, I've never met Pizzaro but I love his pies. And all of this pales to utter insignificance in light of the fact that my ship is once again gone. Savvy? |
