No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
I know that some of you may think that it's too early to do any meaningful speculation on this game as of now but...
I was thinking about whether or not Ganondorf would appear in the new game, and I came to this conclusion: If this game features the same Link from OoT, it would be unlikely for Ganondorf to make an appearance. There's a whole argument that explains that Ganondorf did not recognize Link in TP because he had never met adult Link before. If he meets Link in this game, it would contradict the fact that he did not mention any earlier confrontation in TP. Even so, if Ganon's banishment to the twilight realm took place immediately after OoT, he would never see another Link until TP anyways... So, if this IS the same OoT hero, I would not expect to see him in the story, unless some alternate dimensions or time traveling is involved. But anyways, what would you want? Would you like to see Him make a return, or would you like to see another original story like LA or MM? |

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
Well, after TP, I was craving Ganondorf to be used decently and have better involvement in the story. It's really a mixed bag for me, I really hope Zelda Wii is a continuation of MM Link's journies, which i agree would mean no Ganondorf. However, after that i would like a game where Ganondorf and maybe Ganon (not the dumbed down thing in TP, i refuse to call that Ganon...) play better roles. Where Ganondorf has a similar perception as from TWW.
In short, I want to see him used properly at least once before yet another sidestory. |

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
I think we definitely need a new villain, or a return of a villain that's not Ganondorf.
Ganondorf has long overstayed his welcome. He's been turned to stone, banished away, stabbed and shot with countless weapons... But he never stops coming back. After a while, its like, "How the fu** did you do it this time?" And if this next game continues the story of OoT/MM Link, then Ganondorf will still be around. Like in the beginning of OoT when no one knew he was evil. Though the king might have kicked him out of Hyrule or something. So I don't know what they're going to do. But I think they need to finish of Ganondorf once and for all.

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
^^ I agree we do need a new villian to spice things up. I wouldnt mind seeing a new villian and what would make it eveb cooler is if the made him a bad ass that is way better than Ganondorf, Make him as ruthless as ganondorf but better. Make him as evil as ganondorf but better. Make him more sinister and play mind games and get inside link's head. Make him destroy link from the inside out. Make him do something more than just kidnapp princess zelda and then you will have anew bad ass villian.

He'll be back. I haven't gotten tired of him yet, I don't think I ever will. He's a key role in the franchise, he should never be axed.

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
No Ganondorf, I'd rather see the return on Bellum. Lol, just kidding.
I do want the return of the hero of time, and I would also like Ganondorf to be in the next Zelda to redeem himself, and just because I want him in the game doesn't mean I want to fight him. I'm just easily engrossed by his backstory and character potential. ![]()

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
haha well it is posible, since he only appeared on one timeline. but that was in a alternate world anyway, so it wouldnt really matter.

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
There is no need to axe him, but we need a break from him.
But if they bring good old Ganon back, like Florina said, I would be fine with it.

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
ya I hope it's a sequel to MM as well .
I feel that ganondorf should be given some more motivation for what he does besides his obsession for the triforce. It would be cool to have a game with a good ganondorf who gradually converts to evil as the story progresses. kinda like Darth vader Even a love interest would be intersting to see. |

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
That would be great if it was a prequel, but it probably won't be. As for axing Ganon, I agree that we need a break from him, but he should not (nor will he) be gotten rid of for good. If they eliminate the wielder of the Triforce of Power, what's to stop them from getting rid of Zelda, or even Link (not that they will)? All three are equally important in the Zelda franchise.
And yes, I would love a sequel to Majora's Mask. Can you imagine Termina with Wii graphics? But yes, I'm almost certain Ganon will return, if not in this game, then in another.

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
Man i really hope it IS a Majora sequel, Link in a new land that isnt Termina or Hyrule, something new, hes passing threw sees something, kind hearted that he is epicly saves the day yadayada.
Important part is= New villain not that same old ginger bastard again, New Land to explore, not that same old boring western desert, eastern forest 1 mountain 1 lake, 1 castle. Plus it would be the hero of time, everyones favorite. (HE CAN TRAVEL THREW TIME)

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
He doesn't need to be in the next 2 console Zelda games. Nintendo need to make more original unique Zelda games like MM. I wouldn't mind a evil deitish female villain this time around. Perhaps an evil Great Fairy? But she'd have like ten times as much power as a regular Great Fairy.
They dont need to kill Ganon off for good tho. That would just hurt the series. Ganon to the LoZ is like Bowser to the Mario series. If you took him away for good it would ruin the brand. |

Re: No Ganon in Zelda Wii?
Well, I remember a bit after the release of TP (2008 or so) Miyamoto made a few statements regarding the new game he had been working on (they've been working on this about a year prior to TP's release!).
He was saying how he was basically going to "refresh" the series--not only gameplay, but the story elements as well. I'm thinking that he meant scrap the whole save-the-princess, save-Hyrule thing for this next game. If this is so, then Ganondorf would be a bit out of place were he to return, unless of course he finds something else to do with himself. It would be nice to see him with a kind of personal vendetta against Link/Zelda, versus them just being really big obstacles in his irrational mission to "RULE ZE WORLD!!!111"
