Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

I expect it to be similar to twilight princess, but more improved.

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

i hope action is a large focus now, with the whole wii motion thing. It would have been cool if the game is like Resident Evil 4, it barely had any puzzles, but still had an INCREDIBLY long run through, and I loved the game due to the fact it wasn't open ended, but played out like a movie. Usually I don't like these games because they are really short and I feel cheated, but they made that movie feeling for 40 hrs, and that is INCREDIBLY hard work, the production value of that game was just amazing. They had to create new horrifying situations for every small battle

EDIT: to above post, I don't think it will be similar to TP, because he said in the rest of that article that he wants an open world

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

I want the bosses and puzzles to be a more of a challege. I want new and better innovative weapons. Old weapons are cool but not too many. I want better action and make the sword play better and not make link look like a crack head when he is swinging his sword.

While I think it will be a good game, I don't think that it will satisfy long-time Zelda fans. Zelda just doesn't seem to go for that extra mile anymore...

Surpass OoT plz. Thnx. Just kidding, I don't expect them to beat OoT. They better beat TP though. It's going to be good, because it's going to be storyline-based!

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

Here's my full list.

Larger, more life-like overworld
Original story (No Ganny this time, please)
More freedom of choice
Difficulty settings (This way, everybody is happy with the difficulty)
Longer Quest
More items (By this, I mean in addition to the essentials. I think it would be cool to have a special weapon that isn't essential, but can be used just for fun)
I'd also like a brand new engine. TP was in the right direction, but some of the textures were lacking, and the lighting was over-saturated at places.

^we don't need difficulty settings when we have the demo play. Honestly, I would hate to see difficulty settings in Zelda.

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

I think its going to the most most amazing and best Zelda game to date yet. It's my opinion, don't tell me I'm wrong.

Besides we're basing this off of one tiny interview and one picture....o.O

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

I try to keep my expectations on new Zelda games realistic, and not expecting the 2nd coming of Christ each time a new one is released. Even if the game is half as good as OoT/MM, I'll be happy.

As far as content goes, I do actually hope they amp up the sidequests, but mainly have an emphasis on the storyline.

Yeah, well, TP's sidequests sucked IMO.
I want something in the lines of WW. That game had a LAWT of sidequests. Pretty much every island had something cool to do. I loved just going to an island I hadn't been to before to see what secrets it held.

TP just had some boring caves, and some mini-games.

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

I agree, but I still want the main focus on the main storyline, BUT it would definately be nice to step up the side quests as opposed to TP sidequests.

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

I want the story to be a little more darker and reason because is I just want to see something bad happens and when link finds himself in a situation that he loses. I know it sounds a bit too much but it wouldn't hurt to see the main hero link fail once in his life. Does anyone agree with me?

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

While I acknowledge the idea that Nintendo may pull a rabbit out of the hat and make this an amazing game, the Zelda fanbase has been let down too many times recently for me to actually expect it. If they'd just keep their hardcore and casual games separate it would be alright, but for some reason they think they have to water down their hardcore games too, which is very disappointing. Casual gamers should just go play outside or something.

EDIT: zaine09, I see your point. While I don't think that Link should actually lose, I at least think it would be a lot better if more things went wrong, even if he still (mostly) won in the end. Look at Link's Awakening (I know I mention LA a lot, but it's a good example here): Link escapes the island, which is good, but everyone disappears. That made it so much more touching than it would have been otherwise. Majora's Mask was also good because it was so dark. So yes, I agree that making it darker (and I don't mean literally, with another dark world) would improve the game overall.

Amen, brother. This is basically how I feel.

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

I only expect two things in this moment:
It will be easy, i'm talking about combat and puzzles.
Wii Motion Plus combat

What I actually want it to be, long, fun, and having an iteresting story that doesn't gets ruined near the end, and the Wii Motion plus being used for something else than swinging the sword.

I won't really get my hopes up, I've actually liked recent Zeldas (Yes I liked TP, kill me), but they still were not as good as I expected.

None of the options fit me. =\ I think this game will be greater than TP...and the only thing I loved more than TP is Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

I've always been an avid fan of Zelda's legendary creator, but I have to agree. If this next Zelda game can break past that and create an epic story with great game play and fun side quest/non-essential quests, I'll be a happy Hylian.

Re: What do you expect from Zelda Wii?

I am so sick of people talking about how the series has been in a constant decline, TP was the beginning of the end, etc etc.
No.

Miyamoto said in 2008 after the release of TP that the series needed freshness, and he was making due changes for this to happen. This goes beyond M+. He KNOWS we're sick of seeing OoT over and over again (tho I liked TP alot), and he's acknowledging it. This one's going to be very different, y'all--I know it. And Miyamoto even said it. (And that stupid "not radically different" statement was probably just something to qualm/dispel any rumors of FP or Future Zelda or something crazy like that)

So stop. Really. Wait at LEAST until we know something for certain about the story/contents before you all go to complaining, yeah?
