Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

Don't know if any of you have caught this yet (forgive me if it's old), but when asked in the latest issue of Nintendo Power how different Zelda Wii will be compared to previous Zeldas, Miyamoto said that “I don’t think it’s going to be that radically different.” I guess that's good news for those of us that think that Zelda is fine as it is, but for those expecting a huge change... Then again, there's no way for us to know what's cooking in Miyamoto's head!

I subscribe to NP and he never said that! Which issue was it?

I'm a Nintendo Power reader as well, but it's apparently in the coming issue. Here's my link: http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=87864

I'll have to see it for myself but that is a bit...unusual considering comments he's made about TP being the last of it's kind

Re: Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

That's what I was thinking. Of course, "not that radically different" could be interpreted in multiple ways. It could mean that it's not straying far from the traditional Zelda formula, or it could mean that they're not making it an RPG or some first-person, drastically different futuristic game.

Re: Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

Lol...Well I believe him. xD Course, I have no clue what radically different means...all I know is First Person is out of the question since Miyamoto said it won't be first person...at 2007 E3.

Re: Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

Weren't they talking about a First-Person Zelda?

EDIT: Oh they were being general. Also, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Maybe they'll put more effort onto gameplay which leaves the storyline and graphical style similar to past Zeldas.

I think they had Twilight Princess running in first-person in front of a closed audience at GDC or something similar a few years ago, but Miyamoto said that it probably wouldn't be that drastic of a change. For all we know, that's all he could be meaning here.

Are you replying to me...or the OP? I don't have the new NP, but all the sources just asked Miyamoto how different will this game be compared to the rest of the series.

EDIT: ...Sorry?

Re: Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

I imagine the major difference between this and other Zelda games will be the WM+ controls, which, if done right, could be revolutionary for Zelda.

Re: Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

The guy that said, "last of it's kind" now is saying it's not that radical of a change. Kind of confusing. I hope we'll get to see a few screenshots in the next nintendo Power, I doubt it though.

Re: Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

Lol...The last of it's kind thing has been looked in the wrong way for a while now. He said that when TP was aimed for the GCN. Since that quote we've had TP(Wii), PH and LCT...all of which used a different control scheme. Lol, that's it. xD

Re: Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

I hope we're misinterpreting this. I hope he put way too much emphasis on the word "that" and then trailed off at the end.
Like:
"I don’t think it’s going to be THAT radically different..............."

Because if he means we're getting another piece of **** (exaggerating for dramatic effect, though it was quite disappointing) like Twilight Princess I will never forgive him (also slightly exaggerated, though the sentiment is there).

Re: Miyamoto: New Zelda Wii Game "Not that radically different"

Zelda needs something to uncover what made people enjoy the series, all this OoT remake **** is not a change, god, OoT was something special, but don't keep on making sequels of it.
