The ''Blue Figure'' and Midna

Having got August 2009's issue of Official Nintendo Magazine, there is a huge and clear image of the Zelda Wii artwork released.

Having looked very carefully at ''The Blue Figure'' and its face, I have decided she looks vaguely similar to Midna. Looking at her eyes, it seems thats just what they were, very similar to the Queen of Fairies in Wind Waker, just plain eyes with no pupils but I have finally (some other people may have already noticed), but she has her eyes closed, as she has eyelashes.

Now I can clearly see her face better, she seems to have similarities to Midna. Midna can be seen in some of Twilight Princess artwork, leaning back with her eyes closed, very similar to the ''Blue Figure''.

Its not much to go on, but I find it interesting that this blue figure could have something to do with the Twili or Midna.

Midna has proved to be such a popular figure, with countless Zelda fans (including me, Midna was fantastic!) demanding a reappearance of some sort from her, and Nintendo did say they would listen if there was enough support.

So maybe they have somehow or will tie her into the story in a very different way, maybe as a reincarnated form or something like that.

What does everyone else think?

Re: The ''Blue Figure'' and Midna

See the thing is, most people that take a strong interest in the general well-being of the future of the series, at this moment in time, care most about how Zelda can re-innovate as TP showed just how stagnated Zelda has become. To me, Midna has become the representation of how TP ignored what was important for the well-being of a good Zelda game and instead focused on making some new character the most important aspect simultaneously ignoring the important factors like Link, Zelda and Ganondorf that ended up playing a smaller role than Midna, who should have really only have been a supporting character.

If Nintendo do this a second time in a row I won't be buying this game. If I find out that another character, other than the main three is focused on instead, I won't buy it. Thats it.

Re: The ''Blue Figure'' and Midna

I doubt that it's Midna... I mean she shattered the mirror, remember? Unless some idiot actually took his/her time to reassemble the mirror I don't see midna or the Twili coming back... well maybe a member of the Twili may return, you know how Zelda is, lol they'll never say it's a Twili, but you can look at him/her and tell who it is...

Besides although there are similarities, there are also plenty of differences... Midna is an adult while the blue figure looks more like a young girl(or at least it takes on the form of a young girl... I mean her/his pose says it all... the buckled knees, her arms(or lack of arms) in the cloak as if she's trying to stay warm, her skinny frame... she/he almost looks like a nervous girl who is lost trying to find her way back home... This contrasts with Midna's confident, sassy personality...

Given that Link is supposed to be an adult and more mature than any other hero in the past, it looks like she may be a lost young girl that clung to him and is looking to him to lead her home...

That's just my opinion, I obviously have no proof...

The mirror was only shattered on the CT. Maybe it and the twili will make an apperance in the AT.

I doubt it will, but it's possible.

I never thought of that o.o

If Nintendo did want Midna, or the Twili to return, I suppose this is the way they would go about it.

But back on the subject of the picture of the girl, i really don't think she is a Twili. She resembles the Fairy Queen a lot more, so, if i had to guess, i'd say she is a fairy being, but perhaps not the Fairy Queen we see in TWW (due to the fact the Fairy Queen in TWW seemed flirty and happy. This girl just seems mysterious and solemn.) But ofcourse, she may not have any relation whats so ever to the fairys. Nintendo could have just been reusing a character model they liked for her hairstyle and stone like skin tone.

That's what I've noticed, too. She seems to be significantly younger than Link--a mere child, in fact. This might put you (Link) in a position of a kind of guardian in the next game--having to perhaps protect her a la Resident Evil 2 with Sherry and RE4 with Ashley.

...Hopefully, she'll be more helpful than someone who just curls up in a ball and yelps every time danger is afoot.

Anywhoo, excited!

Re: The ''Blue Figure'' and Midna

I dunno. As much as I'd love Midna to make a comeback, I doubt that it's her. We already know Zelda Wii isn't going to be a TP sequel, so it seems a little unlikely that they'd bring Midna back in a whole new era, doesn't it?

But hey, you never know.

Unless, that is, if it's Tetlink. Tetlink is adorable. Wait, that doesn't REALLY count as Zelink, does it? I mean, it does, but it's not the same Zelink as it is in the other games. And it's still considered Tetlink in the end. But it's still officially Zelink, right?

Oh great. More people who cannot see that the "blue figure" is BLATANTLY the Master Sword AND the Fairy Queen from TWW. Tell me that you've looked at the evidence on various blogs, compared the pictures for yourself, still don't see either the sword or the fairy queen, then we'll talk.

Re: The ''Blue Figure'' and Midna

If midna ever does return (via the adult timeline), then she will probably not be such a big character. She would be like King Zora from OoT, just another person you have to help/save/do a step in a miniquest with.

but anyway, i really doubt that midna will return in this new zelda game, and the blue girl probably doesnt have any connection with midna.

Sigh. Yet MORE people who haven't bothered to examine the evidence pointing to the "blue/purple girl" being BOTH THE MASTER SWORD AND THE FAIRY QUEEN FROM WIND WAKER.

Seriously. What will it take you people to actually look at the overwhelming evidence?

what evidence, all we have is the picture and the interivew. but anyway, i think that this girl could be a older fairy queen on the CT.

Meh, I kinda doubt it.

Besides, I've already sold myself on the "Girl = MS" Theory

Re: The ''Blue Figure'' and Midna

i think that the girl in the picture with link has some connection to the master sword because if you check the picture more carefully the girl has a diamond shape on her chest and gold lines like the master sword now the theory whether or not it is in some way connected to the fairy queen from Wind Waker is understandable because i checked and they look a hell of alot alike so my guess is its both the master sword and fairy queen P.S. here is a link to a picture of the blue figure and fairy queen side by side http://media.photobucket.com/image/W...FairyQueen.png

I basically think they are going to bring back "fairy" side-kicks (OoT/MM) combining it with the Master Sword or some sort of sword for an ultra-awesome weapon combination.

i doubt that the Sword Lady has any connection to the Twili and less Midna.
The Girl resembles a WW Great Fairy, While Midna(in her true from) has a striking resemblance to Veran(from OoX).
