Theme of the New Zelda Wii

Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask were both released on the same console. One was epic themed and one was dark themed. Do you guys think the same applies to the new wii Zelda and Twilight princess? That Twilight princess is epic themed and that a dark game might follow?

Again: The Wii Zelda is not a follow up to TP, Miyamoto himself stated so in his interview with IGN.

I think it will still be "darker" (I am not entirely sure what people mean with it).

That's an absurd, baseless way to predict a game's theme.

i think that it will be darker, since it has been confirmed to have an older link it makes me think he will need to be older to face more frightening challenges

I actually quite hope that it'll be slightly darker than TP, but still feel like a Zelda game. I don't want people dying everywhere and gore all the time, I just want it to feel like there's a real threat, and that you really do not want to die. In the new Zelda games, it's harder to die than it is to beat the game!

xD, I hear you. The new games were really pathetic, and I'm sure that the New Zelda Wii will be a good one. Usually with Zelda's, they are either really really good, or really really pathetic. Either a hit or miss never a middle. I don't necasarily think that just because it's an older Link doesn't mean it's "Dark." OoT and MM had young Link, and they were both really "Dark." Although, OoT had an Adult Link... So, I dunno if that one count's.

so what TP was a walk in a sunny cloudless meadow, cause its darker than all the previous Zelda games were w/ the twilight realm the curses and stuff but yeah its gonna be a different era probably b4 everything else

What on earth is "epic" themed? Epic isn't a theme. The last boss fight on Super Mario Galaxy was Epic, the boss fights in God of War are epic.

Doesn't epic used as an adjective mean something was very impressive and will be remembered for a long time? I think the new wii zelda will be darker, but I surely hope that it will be epic.

They'll throw in some weird-ass idea like they did before - Boat, Train, Wolf, Swordless, or whatever they can come up with.

I'm not quite sure if you can call 'epic' a theme...

But anyway, I do hope like many others here that the new wii game will be darker and more difficult than TP was. And I completely agree with SeedsofLight saying that it's 'harder to die than it is to beat the game'. This has sadly become very true. I really hope they don't make this new game too casual or easy.

As its already been mentioned, EPIC is not a theme. Were you referring to setting or mood of the storyline perhaps??

I really do hope it's a darker game, I like to be emotionally involved in a game, and i was way to hard to die in the previous games.

I'd love to see a darker tone in Wii Zelda. I just love becoming emotionally drawn into the game. TP did that well in my opinion, and it would be great to see that happen even more in the new game.

There seems to be a difference in opinion to what "dark" really means.

Some think its gore and blood - that's just not what most people mean when they say they want a darker game.

some think its tragedy and the deaths of important characters - i would agree to a point.

when people talk about dark they tend to refer to MM, in this sense i feel the darkness came from the underlying themes that were not vocalized in the game and how at the end there were aspects that went unresolved or how some characters didn't really get a neatly tied happy ending. - This is what i personally mean when i say i want the new Zelda to be dark.

On a more serious note-

Videogames that connect with me on an emotional level have a much deeper impact (and are more fun) than games that do not. I think a more tragic Zelda with some of that heavy moral stuff they had back in the N64 days is just what the series needs.

Oh, and I want a new formula. No more of that "collect items-plot twist-scavenger hunt" thing.

well in the pic u can see a mature link...... i hope its going to have a mature theme an evolution of quests
