I think a troll is someone who is purposely trying to piss someone off with offensive comments or something like that. But yeah...a real boy to manly man transition would make Link a believable male character that could maybe get a girlfriend unlike TP or adult OOT Link.

I admit with Ruto, her feelings for Link are far more romantic than Zelda or Malon period. Still..Link didn't seem interested in her in that way at all. The only proof that OOT/MM Link is heterosexual is the Cremia hug and that supports more for Link being with Malon if anything. But back on topic: In a future Zelda game, the whole boyish innocence thing will have to be scrapped if we as players are to believe that Link can get a girlfriend of any kind

True...TP Link did seem to have more of an interest in girls at least. But he still seemed to be an effeminately gentle spoken nice guy that would probably be clueless on what to do if he was naked with a female IMO. In his defense, at least he obviously seemed to be more interested in girls than OOT/MM Link did without question.

Jeez come on, being a nice guy doesn't mean he's clueless. Link obviously loved Ilia. I don't think kissing or sex -for sure- fit at all in a Zelda game. Come on, really? Sure there can be a wish for a relationship, but we will probably not ever see Link IN a relationship. It doesn't work with the whole tragic hero thing.

I think the thing with Link though is female relationships are really the last of his problems throughout the course of the games. He is fighting to save the entire world from an unimaginable dark evil.

Anyway, i think link rode off at the end of TP to find another way into the twilight realm so he could be with Midna

The way they fit Marin into Link's Awakening's story was amazing. Her song was the key to ending the game, it was so moving you couldn't help but cry. Even though Link didn't talk in that game (Arguable...they're are times where the text sounds like something Link would say to himself) Marin and Link were closer than any other couple I've seen in a video game. That game had some deep "romance" even though it had no kissing, sex...or a simple "I love you" (close though)

But if he didn't end up with Ilia after all that I'd be mad, but then, its hard to believe he would after all he went through. I think he realized he loved Midna at the end when he saw her alive again, and when she broke the mirror. That was so sad...

And I want to play this game!! I only played it a little when I was younger. I never bought it and now I can't find it.

I definitely think there should be romance. It would make the game more memorable and would give more purpose to the Zelda/Link relationship.

I can just picture it: Link leaves his hometown at the start of this Wii Zelda and travels to Hyrule Castle on an errand (bit like TP but this is just an example). Then when hes travelling to meet the King and his on the road from CT to the castle, a cart with horses drives by and Zelda looks at Link and Link looks at her (its a cutscene) and she looks behind her as they pass (just like she does in OoT when shes escaping except this time she has an obviously different purpose).

Maybe the game could have a more RPG storyline driven element to it. The focus would be on single-player combat, but maybe there could be a group of characters you meet up with through the game and travel around with. Well the game would suggest this because in cutscenes the characters would (majority of the time) be with you, except in actual gameplay, they'll just be in the inn or walking around in the town. Maybe the Zelda romance could happen at times where Link has escaped at night from the town inn (while the people he travels with are sleeping) and thats when he visits Zelda. Maybe the game could incorporate a whole "carnival" thing (like in MM) and Zelda puts on a disguise (mask anyone?) and Link and Zelda go on some rides together (just like Cloud and Aeris in FF7). Aside from this, the game should have a massive emphasis on side-quests (like the Kafei/Anju side-quest as well as the more simple side-quests like saving Romani ranch or getting the Bremen mask, or getting the bunny hood etc). I would expect the game to have twice as many involving side-quests than MM did, given the power of the Wii in comparison to the N64.

I agree that as a normally matured adult in the Child Timeline, Link being with Malon to sire TP Link in the future makes perfect sense if you ask me. Its just in the actual OOT and MM games, Link is the poster boy for sexual purity and boyish innocence. But the fan art that Behind the Mask posted might say otherwise.

You know, honestly, I don't really care for a Link/Zelda pairing. It's just so cliché and expected in the whole Zelda universe. I would prefer to see something like they did in TP, where Link had an almost exclusively professional relationship with Zelda and fell for Midna instead.

I agree with Cafe Mocha. And I concur on the point about Midna, but yet IMO Link fits better in a non royal relationship that would allow him to serve as a knight in the Hyrule court instead of an unlikely king ruling by Zelda's side. If Link does end up being with Zelda he can't live a double life in being a royal aristocrat and a knight patrolling Hyrule all at once.

Yeah. The whole royal thing is something that really throws me off with Zelda and Link pairing. She emits this really regal air, where as Link seems humble and shy...it's as if she's out of his league, in a way, and just forced together by circumstance.

With Midna, they made it work, one by her personality, and two, because they acknowledged that, in reality, it couldn't work, which I applaud them for.

But we all know Zelda isn't a series for fairy-tale endings.

With Midna it works out since the romance is way more implied than it is with Zelda. And I always thought Zelda was out of Link's league anyway since he is a shy and gentle natured nice guy of humble origin. With the exception of AOL, WW, and 80's cartoon LinkxZelda, Zelink is an obvious romantic mismatch IMO.
