Rrrromance?

I voted for kissing. They won't put anything more than kissing and to think they would is just tripe, though amusing They can have scarce hints of Link having compassionate feelings for a new lady to the story, then tease the Link by having her leave because of some unexpected event. Until the end, they do realize they have deep feelings for eachother and are maybe able to show a short kissing scene but that'll be as far as it goes.

Zelda doesn't need a whole lot of romance in my opinion because it's not based on that, although the games have had scattered subliminal hints at possible love interests for Link. By the way, in OoT, remember that as Link sleeps for 7 years in the Temple of Time, he probably still has the mind of a child when he awakes. This may enlighten some of you on why he doesn't really show or atleast know how to express his emotions to the various valuptuous women he encounters. Or he takes too long to think, I don't know...Take from it what you will.

Ditto...to me this is the most easiest explanation for OOT Link's lack of emotional understanding in romantic situations throughout the game. I think the scene in the sky sums it up best.

The scene with Link and Zelda in the sky in OoT, that scene always used to make me cry. D= Yeah, I'm pretty sure most players were like "NO LINK! Keep the Ocarina!" But as Zelda said "When peace returns to Hyrule, that is when we have to say good bye." *sniff* >_> Anyways I always saw Link and Zelda as having a never-meant-to-be kind of romance, and I think it'd be nice if they went further with that.

Yeah, the scene in the sky is another good example of Link's emotional and even moral stance. He gave the Ocarina back because peace retruned, and he no longer needed it. He may or may not have had deep feelings for Zelda since it's hard to tell with what 256-megabit's can show in character models. In essence, body language is probably the main language between admirer's and unfortunately, with the pasts' graphics, it's hard to tell for Link and Zelda. Though, I do believe Link had the most feeling for Saria due to there hesitant goodbye's given to eachother when Link left Kokiri Forest for the first time to go to Hyrule Castle.

Although Saria's gone now cos she's a Sage. So that'll probably never work out.

I knew that about Saria being a sage, but I'm not too sure about Zelda being a sage too. Anyone know?

So far in LoZ, the only viable relationship for Link is probably with Malon, in my opinion.

Well, this really varies from game to game, but for OoT Link, I heartily agree. Malon is the girl for him.

Well the "kissing? why stop there" option is winning. Looks like majority of people want that option. I suppose the traditionalists that love tradition and are too scared to see change for Zelda will vote for the top option. Or maybe they vote for that option because they have 6 year old kids that they want to protect. Pretty sad, really.

Eh..you know I was just kidding right?? But yeah...I agree 100% on the "love that was never meant to be." thing. I'm aware of the popular OOT has bad graphics argument that Majrin Twili referenced. But since the OOT graphics clearly demonstrated that Link DID have different emotional expressions other than his silly looking blank stare, and other Zelda games with LESSER graphics (AOL, LA, Oos/Oox) portray Link with romantic feelings, its a moot argument at this point IMO.

I still think the makers at Nintendo actually INTENDED for OOT Link not to show emotional romantic feelings to anyone due to the 7 years of lost maturity in still having the mind of a sexually pure & innocent child. With that said, I have no doubt that he definitely cared for Zelda's well being for sure and without question. But in the scene in the sky I felt that he was still just a little boy in a young mans body who out of his own freewill wanted to entrust Zelda to restore his childhood.

Hence the very sad expression Zelda had when he handed back the ocarina without putting up much of an argument to stay with her in the Adult Timeline as any normal heterosexual male teenager would have. As you said, Adult Timeline LinkxZelda was just clearly never meant to be. But I think Child Timeline Zelda has a chance to eventually be with Link romantically, despite my belief that he will more than likely end up with Malon to continue the life of a hero with more freedom to ride around with Epona.

Ganonslayer2000, OoT graphics weren't bad at the time and they were good enough to have mildly detailed facial expressions. I agree with you on Nintendo's decision to not have Link show passion for the women he meant.

OoT's graphcis at the time was amazing, as a person who grew up with graphics of a commodre and watching them evolve first hand, the facial expressions in itself even if slight was revolutionary.

Even back then I thought N 64 graphics were very good compared to the original Playstation graphics. As for OOT Link I had always thought his very funny looking blank stare, whether as a kid or an adult, made him a very strange protagonist. But given the circumstances as I got older and understanding that Link being a little boy who was a very lonely social misfit and the aspect of the 7 years lost maturity, it now makes perfect sense to me as to why Link seemed emotionally introverted and awkward when it came to social situations in general. And with his precious fairy randomly whirling and twirling about him I just now want to go Awwwww OOT Link is the most adorable shy & lonely eternal virgin ever.

Romance would definitely make the story more emotional, protecting the one you love and all.
It would be cool to see a visually updated Malon hook up with Link.
