Incorperate the rings from OoS and OoA into a new Zelda game.
How cool would that be?
like, who else loved finding new rings and learning their powers? my favorites where the rings that changed you into something else.

Yeah, you're right. The ring system was pretty nice. But they need to model it after Paper Mario (the series that does this sort of thing right) more than the way they did it in OoS or OoA (which had a horrible balance between number of rings, number of useful rings, and number you could equip).

Yes. I am talking about the Paper Mario badges, I said that they got the "equip multiple effects, but you can only equip a few at a time" thing right.

idk how they would pull off the transformation rings off though. maybe make it kinda like the wolf transformation from TP?

Re: Incorperate the rings from OoS and OoA into a new Zelda game.
I absolutely agree.
The rings were the best way of having more RPG elements in Zelda while staying true to the Zelda formula, that all "level ups" should be gained by items (with the exception of Zelda II... like always). Choosing which rings to use gave the game a more personal note and collecting all 64 rings was a lot of fun and quite a challenge. Of course I don't say it has to be rings, but maybe something similar. "Collective items, where each item is unique and gives you different stats or abilities." Sounds like the masks in Majora's Mask, but those items should come in larger number and some of them should focus on stats like your sword power. I'm not so sure, however, about the transforming rings. All the rings were supposed to be optional and therefore you can't integrate the transformations too much into the game. Which is why most of the transformations in Oracles didn't do anything good. Okay, I think, the Like Like ring saved you from being eaten by Like Likes, if I'm not mistaken, but that's it.

Re: Incorperate the rings from OoS and OoA into a new Zelda game.
Y'know, last time I played through Ages, which was very recently, I couldn't really be bothered to even get the ring box. I just...couldn't be bothered.
But, I mean, if they made it less bothersome with all the appraising etc. I'd be really pumped for it. Hell, even if they didn't, I'd still be up for it, as long as it was done well. |
