Should Zelda Have More Different Swords?

It would be pretty cool if a new sword could be used to beat certain enemies in interesting ways. Possibly a sword that doubles as two weapons would be cool to.

I don't think anything should ever replace the Master Sword, its pretty much a character and is just as important as Link or Zelda. And how lame would it be if Hyrule had all these different sacred blades with magical powers? I mean, I know there are people who hate this idea, but I believe the Four Sword and the Master Sword are the same thing, just that the Master sword has been changed over time. But of course having other swords in the game like the Biggoron's sword would be really cool! But it shouldn't be able to do much damage to Ganon or anything, as it doesn't have the ability to repel evil or anything. Maybe certain enemies can't be destroyed by it such as poes or weird supernatural things. It could be pretty cool I think

I want the sword from ALttP back. The one that shoots magic if you're at full health.

Playing as Kafei is the closest thing to that, other than the boxing mini-game in OoS. Oh, OoX has a ring you can wear that allows Link to punch.

I think in recent games the Master Sword has been sort of under-powered. I think they should have more swords, and than just for the end of the game have the player get a super-overpowered Master Sword. Of course, that would mean that the end of the game would have to be hard, but Zelda isn't exactly a child's-toy.

They should allow you to decide which sword and design them in a way you'll switch for different enemies.

Yes, I want more swords. I like style, and it won't matter to me if it's weak. I actually like the wooden sword in TP and will glitch to allow me using it for the whole game.

I personally thought that PH did a good job with this idea. Letting one sword do the sword beam attack, another has flames, one increases defense, and the last one stops time is a good, healthy mix.

that would totally screw up the concept of the game though.

edit: ok, maybe not the concept, but you know. like, how lame would it be if got to design a magical sword. this is zelda. not WOW of Runescape.

there should only be like two more swords.
one should have something to do with zoras and one should have something to do with the twilight world.

a twilight type sword would only be good for the twilight princess, i think. because the twilight probably wont be explored that much in future games, unless they make a direct sequel to TP.

and a zora sword would be need.

More swords? Why not? As long as they are different enough.

But what's even more important are more different types of weapons. Next to bow and bombs we had the hammer, the ball & chain in Twilight Princess and we will get the whip in Spirit Tracks. That's all nice, but still not enough. I would like to see something like a battle axe or a spear. Maybe even a large scythe (like the one Gomess used in MM). I think those kinds of weapons would be could, if the game utilizes them enough (like using the battle axe to destroy certain trees and other wooden stuff).

You know, a scythe would be a ****ty weapon in practice.

I'd love a spear, though. I'm always happy when I get one in Wind Waker.

There should be swords that you can dual-wield, now that would be awesome.

I want a game with three swords that are actually usable and selectable at the same time. OoT had two, MM had two, TP had two, I want three. Plus a melee weapon like the megaton hammer or ball and chain. More weapons means more character customization. And bring back tunics! Even if they cost 10,000 rupees and don't do anything besides look cool.

Adding more different types of swords or other main weapons in to Zelda needs to be well reasoned. If they add more weapons just for the fun of it, the gameplay will end up boring.

What would be great is if they could do some kind sword that could use special moves that rely on a new type of magic like sword magic or something so there would be magic and sword magic
