Look i like that formula! It has been used for twenty years and still works! WW even uses that formula! The fact that MM breaks it is one of the reason it's my fifth favorite Zelda because all the others that i perceive to be better than it use that formula!

The formula is stale, and it needs a complete revamp. You might not like innovation, but I do.

Look that's just your opinion! And what would you have the new formula be out of curiosity. I fail to see what the big deal is about innovation, i mean come on, hasn't anybody ever heard the phrase if it ain't broken don't fix it!

But it is broken. The formula has been used in too many of the games. If this continues, the story will continue to be overly predictable. We need a new formula, that will keep us guessing up until the end of the game.

Something other than the ALttP/OoT/TP formula would be much appreciated. I'm not in charge of the games development, so I can only hope and pray that it won't be crappy.

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

they may have pushed zelda wii back to 2010. the only reason being is that metroid other m and super mario galaxy 2 are coming out in that year, making 2011 a perfect year to release zelda wii in. earthbounding has good news on the next zelda wii game

Why can't SG2 and MOM come out in 2011 and let zelda wii come out next year. But I suppose I can wait and Metroid Other M is going to be off the chains.

Go play twilight princess and I bet you can agree that the formula doesn't work as well as it used to. The new games are too easy for older gamers but still too confusing for some casuals. Hopefully the possible new formula will make zelda more enjoyable for both casuals and gamers. Well, at least that's what I hope.

Hey, Metroid takes priority over Zelda. Unlike Zelda, Metroid has been consistently good. I cannot think of a single Metroid game I did not like.

Mario's most recent installment (Galaxy) was also superior to Zelda's latest outing.

Besides, seeing as we haven't even seen a trailer yet, if it did release next year, it would be rushed, with awful design, barely functional gameplay, and bugs up the arse.

Zelda Wii hands down. Phantom Hourglass was really boring to be honest, and I just know I'll be dissapointed by Spirit Tracks. I'm still buying it though...hm...

Nintendo's. The NDS Zelda Team's to be accurate. See, they had the Phantom Hourglass engine and it's really good. So, it was economically the right choice to use it for a second game. But an important part of the engine was the 3D sea travelling. They had three options for that. Either have some kind of sea travelling again, but that would certainly be boring. Or screw it completely and create a pure 2,5D Zelda game, but then you couldn't see the new land of Hyrule in 3D. Or try something different with it, which was probably the best option. And they choose the last option and the train definitely was the best idea to come up with in this situation. It was probably also heavily inspired by Aonuma, who talked about a "Wild West" Zelda a lot. The idea of trains running through Hyrule probably comes from there.

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

Is the Train really that bad? I mean, I'd rather they just have one unified overworld, but it isn't the end of the world.

Good point but I am going to have to disagree. IMO Zelda did better than mario galaxy and metroid corruption.

DEFINITELY Zelda Wii! No matter how amazing Spirit Tracks may be, an epic DS game cannot compare to an epic main console game...let's only hope that Zelda Wii lives up to it's early expectations.

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

I am not a big fan of handheld games so Spirit Tracks isn't as interesting to me. I had to force myself to purchase a GameBoy Player for GameCube in order to finish LA. There's something about handheld that puts me off, but I can't put my finger on it.

I've been waiting for Zelda Wii since they unveiled the "Revolution" motion controllers back in 2005/2006.
