I'm honestly looking forward to both. Spirit Tracks looks good and it'll hold me over until more information about Zelda Wii, and when ZWii is released...

I'll be playing none-stop.

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

I'm looking forward to Zelda Wii more because i personally didn't really care for PH i rented it, and i just didn't think it was good as everyone said it was. So with that said i don't think ST is going to do any justice for what i felt about PH, plus i sold my old DS.
I'm really excited for Zelda Wii though, the things i really expect from Zelda Wii are:

- Better Graphics than TP

- A More Challenging game (which i doubt will happen considering what Nintendo has been doing in their recent years)

- A good plot/storyline (not any of the basic Ganon takes over Hyrule and Link saves the land and Zelda, some thing a little more unique and not a dirty trick like TP) They should look at MM for inspiration.

- No "Link collects three special items from three dungeons, something very important to the story happens, then Link goes out to more dungeons and collects more special items, then banish and/or kill the main villain of the game which is more than likely Ganon". Once again they need to seek inspiration from MM.

Those are 4 major things that i expect from Zelda Wii, which i highly doubt that Nintendo will try to accomplish (maybe they'll get the graphics right though)

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

Zelda Wii for me. I've never been big on the cell-shaded Zeldas. They were good, yes, but the best among the Zeldas were the opposite (OOT, MM, TP)

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

Zelda Wii, for sure. I'm excited for Spirit Tracks, but not that much, it'll probably be like PH. However, I am extremely excited for Zelda Wii! I was already excited to hear that they were working on a Zelda Wii, but seeing that picture for it makes me ever more anxious!

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

Between ST and Zelda Wii, I lean towards the Zelda Wii game.

It has kicked back my love for the Zelda games again, which is something I lost for a few months since I thought games were going downhill from the release of PH.

But I won't allow my expectations to grow too high if the two new games under-development turn out into more Zelda games that don't bring out the "wow" factor much.

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

Not too excited for spirit tracks, from what I've seen mostly because it's excatly like PH only on a train and with land, from what I've seen.

Not really too hyped about the other one either because I don't know anything about it

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

Let's talk about art styles.

Toon Link was really good in Wind Waker, I liked him a lot and still do. But, there's two reasons I don't want to see him again: First off, he looks awful on the DS, an absolute monstrosity; Second, he's a very unique design, unlike anything else in the series, so he fits much better as a one-off thing, something I like to see once but not much more: He's worn out his welcome at this point.

Twilight Princess Link was amazing. He is definitely the future I'd like to see in the series.

1-0 for Wii Zelda.

Next, let's talk about overall gameplay, the dungeons in particular.

Spirit Tracks' dungeons look just as simple and uninteresting as they did in Phantom Hourglass. Simple puzzles galore and very simple palette-swaps up the arse. Seriously, we're BEYOND simple palette swaps and the same music all the way: There was no excuse for Phantom Hourglass and there certainly isn't for this game.

We have no idea how Wii Zelda will play, maybe somewhat like Twilight Princess? With slightly better level designs and higher difficulty that's already way, way, way better than Spirit Tracks.

2-0 for Wii Zelda.

Now let's talk aboot dem gimmicks!

Spirit Tracks has a train.
Now, I'm not complaining about the technology, but it looks like it'll have the exact same "plot course and slog forward at minimum speed in an almost entirely feature-less overworld" as Phantom Hourglass did with the steamboat.
The dark nut better be utilised really ****ing well.

Wii Zelda has...that other character, maybe we can control it in special ways with the Wii Motion+?

3-0 for Wii Zelda.

Graphics: They're both 3-d, but one is on the DS and the other for Wii. If Spirit Tracks was in 2-d I would maybe consider it for a single moment, or even if it tried for one moment to look any better than Zelda 1 and Adventure of Link, but so far the Wii Zelda already looks way better.

4-0 for Wii Zelda.

It's pretty one-sided so far, yeah.

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

Map design was a huge positive in TP. A big upgrade from prior games. I really think the maps are only gonna get better. Like i said many times before, bigger maps are always better. They allow for many hours of running around, not related to the story.
For example, in TP you could search for all 60 0f the Poes, all of the bugs, all of the dig spots. Which, to me, were just as fun as following the story and any of the temples. The TP map was by far the strongest of all Zelda maps in my opinion. Thats why i think in the next Zelda, the map is gonna be another big issue, seems they're going in a good direction.

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

Currently it has to be Spirit Tracks. It's the only one I know anything about so I must say ST until I have enough information to decide if ZWii is gonna suck or not.

Re: What are you more hyped for? Zelda: Spirit Tracks or Zelda Wii?

I'm more hyped for Spirit Tracks at the moment, because
1) We've had a trailer and demos for ST while we only have had a single picture for Zelda Wii
2) ST so far looks pretty good in its gameplay (controlling a Phantom should be fun)
3) It looks like it will solve some questions about the timeline (*guess*)
4) It will probably be out sooner

I am only hyped about Zelda Wii (at the moment) because it looks like a OoT/MM sequel

I would say Spirit Tracks at the moment. Just because it will be out sooner. Once we get some details on Zelda Wii I will up the hype-age.

It was. Mostly because it was a remake of OOT.

It wasn't a total remake of OoT. You started out as a country boy, in Ordon Village, with totally different people than in other games. Started as Adult Link, not Young Link. Not in Kokiri Forest with Kokiri children that do not grow up, with regular human beings. You meet a helpful character named Midna. You go into the Twilight Realm. You can turn into a wolf. You get a boomerang that has powers of wind. No ocarina in this game whatsoever. No time travel either. Iron boots had magnets in them. More realistic art style than OoT. *Sarcasm* Boy, these games really do sound alike, don't they? *Sarcasm* I think you've just been treated....

It wasn't just the swrod that used motion, you could now aim your bow and bommerang. And fish. You're wrong on that one. It actually was cool.

How could you say it was a bad plot?

It was a masterpeice.

Are you sure you're a zelda fan?
You're the most pessimistic person I've ever seen regarding zelda games
Granted it wasn't perfect, but it was a good game.

Zelda Wii. Spirit Tracks looks fun but I just finished PH and I don't feel like playing another hand held Zelda ATM.

He's a Zelda fan, but Zelda is not his life.

Twilight Princess did NOT live up to its hype.. it was a good game, but not nearly good enough.

Assassins Creed II. Game of the year for sure.

But to stay on topic, it will have to be the Zelda Wii. Could kick some big *** if they pull it off.
