So it's Star Wars, except Link instead of Luke and Ganondorf instead of Darth Vader?

Re: Do you think there should be a futuristic Zelda game?

I've always been strongly in favour of the idea, mostly because of an amazing cartoon show called Samurai Jack. I always imagined Zelda taking that sort of route, a fantastically bizarrely surreal future, in no way like our own, a sort of split on the branch of time.

Re: Do you think there should be a futuristic Zelda game?

oh yeah but it worked because they did in a special way where it was interplanetarily futuristic but didn't really have to much guns and because jack was a master samurai
a european style swordsman is much different than a samurai

Re: Do you think there should be a futuristic Zelda game?

So you're saying that Zelda can't have a unique science fiction setting like Samurai Jack did because Link is not a samurai? You don't think a comparable world could be created without the samurai component?

thats not what im saying im saying it'd have to be a lot different and that it takes a lot of hard work and the fact that samurai jack is a cartoon not a video game

Yes. It would take lots of work and would need to be different.
We know that Samurai Jack is a cartoon.

Samurai Jack was used as an example that a futuristic setting does not necessarily mean it'd be all laser guns and space marines. We did not suggest putting Zelda characters in Samurai Jack's setting. It would be in its own Zelda-tailored setting.

Samurai Jack simply proves that there's more than one kind of science fiction.

A game should take a lot of hard work to begin with. Otherwise we end up with another TP.

Your reasoning sucks.

No they don't, there is no such thing as a certain time period of which legends can only happen in. There were legends in ancient greece aswell

Re: Do you think there should be a futuristic Zelda game?

I could count the amount of people on one hand who actually understand what a futuristic Zelda would be like.

Everyone else is thinking things like Halo or Final Fantasy or our world but with Zelda themes

Zelda moving a little farther in to the future couldn't hurt. Cannons are already present, so it can't be long before they figure out guns.

Re: Do you think there should be a futuristic Zelda game?

HEY! TP is a good game stop ripping on it like people used to do to WW and my reasoning doesn't suck b/c a cartoon is much easier to make than a game my point being as well as the fact that you'd need a different futuristic atmosphere and btw if they did do a more futuristic Zgame it be best if it was only a little farther and the technology would have to be different considering current Ztech. and the fact that it has magic in it but not like ffs magic b/c their different kinds
over and out

And stay out. Cause that was irritating to read.

Your excuse is "It's hard to design a new futuristic atmosphere"

Uhmm. That sucks, man. The creators have to design a new world for each game. What's so much more hard about designing a more futuristic world that would seem logical in the Zelda universe?

And people ripped on WW for it's animation. People rip on TP for sucking.

Okay i'll try to be more litterate for you. Also misspelt words are sometimes people trying to do things faster or just shorten things. Im using a PS3 so it takes longer to type things.

Re: Do you think there should be a futuristic Zelda game?

I say no.

Making a futuristic Zelda can be compared to making a new series (infact, why don't Nintendo just make a new series to make all you BAWWWWWWers happy?). I mean, I know it's bad to cling to tradition sometimes, but the line has to be drawn somewhere...
