I also liked how in TP, enemies would poof and explode away after their death. If they could improve this method, I'd be a happy Nintendo fanboy.

Re: Killing People
He kills them in both "A Link to The Past" , and "Oracle of Ages" (at least in the latter he fights some humans at one point.) in both games he fights guards. (Ah yes, And in "Ocarina of Time" and "Majora's Mask" he fights Gerudos. (stunning them temporarily)
but yes, I agree, I would like to see more human combat. Pehaps in a future Zelda game, one of ganon's generals could have humans in his army. Perhaps they are from a far away tribe that hates Hyrule, or they are possessed. Also, the fact of an entirely new sentient, humanoid race could open up several possibilities. |

Re: Killing People
how would that be far more like a zelda game if all the zelda games have you killing monsters....

Re: Killing People
Oh yes, and blood. there was blood in Ocarina of Time.
on the floor in several rooms at the bottom of the Kakiriko well and in the Shadow Temple, there is blood on the floor as well. It was spread around various torture devices which were a great horror effect. This was unusual for a Zelda game, but it produced a good effect. (morbidly) |

Re: Killing People
I think the series definitely needs more fights against humans. Look how much fun the darknuts were in Twilight Princess. I don't think it needs too much gore, though, that wouldn't fit the series

Re: Killing People
I had always accepted an enemies death to be like it was in the older Zelda cartoons. They were all just bursts of magic from Ganon or his big glass container full of spirits, and their deaths were merely them being recycled.
As for killing human enemies.. I don't think that would work. Knocking them unconscious seems like a more conservative approach.

Re: Killing People
Forgive me if this is too old, I honestly don't understand the old thrad stuf evryone gets all mad about...
But I think having human enemies would be great, especially in the dark direction Zelda is going. There need to be other evil people that take Ganondorf's side or something. Of course, these human enemies should be rare, and shouldn't be an entire race to themselves. This reminds me of Lord of the Rings. Most of the evil in those books are orcs and trolls, but eventually there are the Haradrim. But Im not exactly sure about killing people in Zelda. Zelda seems to be a typical legend or myth where being the hero and slaying evil is glorified. By adding humans as enemies, you begin to question whether what you are doing is actually right. But maybe this complication would be really cool. I'm just saying you don't really feel bad for the moblins and stalfos... |

If it was a person in Zelda, I think they would lay there dead normally, like what humans do when they die... But as for Ganondorf, he is an enemy, but never "poofed" away. Now I don't know what I am talking about. :/

*Edit: I like how in OoT and MM, enemies burst into flames upon defeat. The poofing thing is too childish for my taste.

Re: Killing People
They could be like Redeads. When you kill a redead they stay there for a pretty long time before the suddenly poof into smoke...or slowly disappear. When I was younger I was convinced that a dead redead would get up again just because it lied around for so long. >_>

But you don't kill him. The bag gets knocked off his back and he keeps running.

Re: Killing People
We should be allowed to kill whoever we want whenever we want. Fable has this pretty well. Very little blood when you kill and if you do it in a town or something the guards get pissed at you.

Re: Killing People
No. If I had the ability to kill any NPC in Zelda...the temptation would be to high...and the entire town would probably have to go into hiding. >_>
