Zelda Transportation

So theres been Horse, Boat, and now Train.
What else would you like to see for transportation in future games?
I would personally love to have something that flys.

i think the fancy new transportation methods should stay in the cel-shaded zelda games. just because idk. that kind of transportation is always just related to that i think. but if we are talking about something that is in a cel-shaded game, then i would like to see maybe link with a car that has a bumper sticker which says,"No stupid theories, please!" but nothing like a airplane.

A big bird. That would be cool and unique, but I think it could make things to easy outside of dungeons.

Re: Zelda Transportation

An underground mine cart system that leads all over Hyrule. Just imagine; an Indiana Jones-style mine cart chase with Link fighting off Moblins that are in another cart.

Or maybe Link having a dragon or something to ride on, other than Epona. Maybe the dragon could be used to cross large gaps Epona couldn't jump.

Heck, why not some sort of magical jetpack? Wait, that'd be too much like Mario Sunshine...

Mort pondered this.

Re: Zelda Transportation

Airplane! I would like to see Link in an airplane, flying his way through Hyrule. Didn't a train work out? So why not.

Just kidding, anyways. I'd love to see Link riding a dragon. That could work out well for flying.

Link should drive a low-rider car throughout the land of Hyrule with a *****in' sound system, vinyl interior, 24 inch spinnas, neon lights, and *****es and hos like Midna, Navi, Marlon, and Sara wearing bikinis.

Re: Zelda Transportation

Well, with the way Phantom Hourglass introduced a steamboat for water travel, Spirit Tracks introduced a train for land travel... The next logical step would be...sky travel? Some sort of Zelda-esque airplane? Heh, I can see it now--the third Zelda DS installment--The Legend of Zelda: Spectral Sky!

Re: Zelda Transportation

I'd like to see a teleportaion ability, but rather than using only warp points or portals, you could choose exactly where you end up. You could also use it in combat to do stuff like this.

If the car was powered Flintstones style I would totally go for that.

I think somthing that flies would be the next step. A Da Vinci inspired flying machine would probably fit with the world the best.

Depends on the game's setting. Overall, though, I'd stick with the horse.

Re: Zelda Transportation

Link started on his feet and should stay on his feet, sure horseback is fun, but until we can get horseback gameplay like assassins creed then I'm sticking with feet.

But alas, one can always dream, I would love link to fly in either a giant hawk ala Lotr, or a glider, similar to davinci's inventions.

The horseback combat in Assasins Creed was horrible to the combat in TP.

I would really like to fly. I would choose an owl, similar to how kaepora flew you around, but instead you choose where to go.

yeah i strongly agree. Epona is all I personally would need, but since we're on the topic, I wouldnt mind seeing some kind of underground tool like a drill in the cell shaded Zeldas, so that tunnels could be built and whatnot. I think that would be a cool concept that would open up a lot of different opportunities for gameplay and storyline.
