Battle Axe's and Instruments.

Who thinks that there should be an Axe of some sort in the new Zelda game.I think it would be cool. I think there should have a new instrument. Something that not many people have heard of.

I think there should be more weapons, period. They should all be unique, useful, and fun to swing around.

An axe? With Link? Nah...seems a little too... bearded-man for me. Well, maybe if it were like a hatchet, or a mini-ax.

Maybe. Or they could bring back some old weapons, like the megaton hammer

Daltron, are you suggesting some sort of Battle Ax-Guitar combination?

Re: Battle Axe's and Instruments.

I don't really think Link needs to wield a battle-ax. Seriously? The Master Battle-Ax? That just doesn't see LOZ. I agree that they need to bring back old weapons. I think the magic powder from ALTTP was pretty cool. I'd like to see that in future games. As for a musical instrument....Why not a trumpet? The idea sounds kind of weird i know, but wouldn't it be more familiar with people? I think that might be pretty cool though.

Re: Battle Axe's and Instruments.

I think that the next Zelda game should be more instrument oriented. I mean, there's always an instrument in every game except TP and TP was my least liked game of the Zeldas I've played. Though I would prefer if it wasn't an ocarina/flute again. Doesn't matter much to me what it is, just a nice instrument, with good game play mechanics. Like being able to use it anywhere at anytime. That's what I believe.

How about this instrument?

Anyway, I agree with Kishiro Diablo, they should include a new instrument in a Zelda game - it's just as natural as having a sword... hm..

As for an axe... I am not sure about it. I wouldn't like it to be included but if they make a nice 3D model, implement it well and actually make it useful in-game - then I'm all for it.

Re: Battle Axe's and Instruments.

A battle-axe seems a bit brutal for Link. I'm not sure it would fit his image.

I think they should stick should stick with the ocarina for instruments. I really don't want to see the series spiral into some gimmicky instrument-of-the-week situation where everyone has to start speculating about just what kind of instrument they're going to choose next every time a new game is announced.
There's no need to do something different just for the sake of being different.

Re: Battle Axe's and Instruments.

How is an axe any less brutal than a giant hammer? If it can be used for new puzzles, I'd like it. Imagine cutting down a giant freakin' tree that's blocking the path.

Re: Battle Axe's and Instruments.

It is more brutal. It just is. And we should stick with the ocarina, but maybe he'll learn to play another instrument (New Wii Game "Link's Tuba Adventure") and still be able to play the ocarina as well. I mean, he knows how to play horns, drums and the guitar apparently.

Haha wow that's pretty weird in a cool way. Not sure how that would work in a Wii game to make it practical but whatever =P

How about you compromise and bring an axe and an instrument at the same time?

Um, what about he steals Mikau's guitar from the grave and hits people with it, I think it'd work better than an axe.

I suppose you're right. However, I would not want to see the ocarina again for quite some time. It's too hyped (can't come up with a better word) among fans. Maybe it would be better to go back to LoZ/AoL and base the new instrument off the recorder from those games.

It has the same shape as the Wii Remote, so Wii Music inspired controls could be used... or maybe not

In his magic pocket of course.. if he can fit a ball and chain in there and the rest of his equipment, then why not this...

I'd love to see the harp as well. Who cares if Sheik had one, we can pretend that it was a gift from him.. her.
