Non-combat uses for MotionPlus?
The issue with adding WM+ into ZWii is that there needs to be many situations where WM+ is used in a non-combat focus.
Remember, Zelda is a series which is not combat-centric. How could Nintendo add WM+ functionality outside of combat?

Re: Non-combat uses for MotionPlus?
This sounds queer, but I was thinking of it today. Like, instead of making everything gameplay relevant, you could make the whole environment interactive. I was thinking for example, you have a sword, but you can scoop an apple or something up from a table, and fling it from your sword. That's completely pointless in terms of gameplay, but it would be incredibly realistic. Trouble is, you'd need to implement some form of gravity engine for everything, and considering that it's pointless in terms of gameplay - it's not going to happen.

Wii MotionPlus has gyroscopes (two I think) and the Wii Remote has an accelerometer. Together, they can detect any motion you make. The Nunchuk is limited because it only has an accelerometer.

You mean like picking up pots and throwing them with the Wiimote? Sounds cool but might get tirering after awhile...

You're welcome

![]() One thing that hasn't been mentioned here much but was mentioned by one of the Red Steel 2 devs, is that they can "see" where you're pointing even if you point off-screen, thanks to Wii MotionPlus. I hope more devs implement that function in their games, it would greatly enhance the nearly perfect pointer functionality.

When I first saw the new artwork and read Miyamoto's interview regarding the lack of a sword. My first thought wasn't on if the fairie Queen looking character was the MS or not. It was that they were working on making Link a more interactive character with more control options. Will Link be a lefty like almost always or will that be the player's choice?..depending on rather they're right or left handed. Edit: Of course, the artwork could have been hinting at both options. |

Re: Non-combat uses for MotionPlus?
Another way they would most likely implement the motion+ would be in the Mini Games you would play in the game. Which is fine my be cuz I always loved taking breaks from the main quest and just play mini games.

Mmm, more fishing. Lol.
I have a question, does the Nunchuck benefit at all from the Motion+? For Wii Sports Resort they said you have to draw the nunchuck back in before shooting an arrow...sooo, is the nunchuck going to be less suckish now?

Re: Non-combat uses for MotionPlus?
No the nunchuck is pretty much going to stay as it is, since there isn't really a way to add and motion+ on to the actual nunchuck.

OMG I hadn't even thought about fishing. I liked TP fishing a lot and is my favorite mini-game in Zelda. Add some motion control to the canoe and allow Link to fish in more areas (how about in normal areas with water streams/rivers/ponds/lakes) and we're good to go

That would be so sweet... but the problem is that TFU on the Wii didn't have those engines, cause it can't handle it.

The Wiimore can be useful when Link looks at pictures of Midna during her modeling days.
