Possible story for new Zelda?

Not a bad theory at all ArchsageX, going by the image alone it could not be that far fetched.

I kinda hope she is the sword. I want this game to be voice-acted, and for hers to come out of the remote. I know Midna did, sort of, but I mean for the sword's line being delivered in real-time during gameplay without a text box.

I'd like voice acting but they should keep the text boxes, deaf people actually play video games you know. Plus what if the voice acting totally blows? Then you would want to turn it off and stick with the text.

It would just be cool if she could communicate with you in real time. Can we compromise on subtitles?

That's what I meant. Text boxes as subtitles in case of deafness or really sucky voice acting (and the ability to turn off the VA).

Apparently, the girl could be the sword... o-o

Usually Link is presented with a sword. But with his hand empty and his sheath covered by a strange looking girl... She could be the new sword, but it may not be the Master Sword. Like some shapeshifter character..

I always imagined the Master Sword as masculine for some reason.

Hahahahaha quoted for the truth, however I think we have a bit more evidence this time around that can lead to a logical conclusion, rather than finding random details that we force into our theories (in retrospect, the whole midna = MS idea was a bit out there)

It's quite blatantly phallic. Of course you pictured a sword as masculine.

I think she bears too much of a resemblance to the Master Sword for it to be any other weapon. Plus its a good opportunity to explain more about the origins of the sword and what the sword really is. The Master Sword is a really vague plot device. All we know is that it can defeat evil and that it was forged by smiths to defeat evil.

Well duh.

Obviously if the Master Sword was slim like a Katana, then I would seem more feminine.

It's just the bulk of it.

For now I'll just think that the girl is connected to the sword somehow, perhaps not as far as being the soul of the Master Sword, but it has something to do with it. Out of that, including the fairy, I'll give it benefit of doubt, after all as people mention, is not the first time they take inspiration from a character of an older game.

If the mastersword returns then a whole lot of other zelda elements will be returning as well: Sages, Zelda, Ganondorf, Triforce and Tingle.

I believe in the idea about living sword.
