^ Yep, it's official. They'll stick with the pointer thing from TP for the bow.

You heard it here first.

Similar, yes.

Right. Because you need experience with something in order to have an opinion about it. We might as well close down the forums as half the people here who have an opinion on something in the games don't have the equivalent experience IRL.

I may not have tried archery but I do know games - and that's what we're discussing here. I tried just now to do the impossible and do the WSR archery motions in front of the TV with both hands. Yes I looked like a jackass but guess what, I successfully shot an imaginary arrow holding the Wii Remote with my right hand. *gasp*

No arms fell off, the local archery association didn't knock on the door. I think I'll survive.

Well you're supposed to hold the bat in Wii Sports Baseball with both hands and still a lot of gamers use only one hand, including me. I know, the Universe will collapse any moment now.

Oh, I don't do baseball either so I guess I have no say. Btw, I have never used a sword or boomerang either so I'm apparently not allowed to talk about those mechanics in Zelda Wii according to you... damn.

Now we're just repeating ourselves and I'm really tired, so I'll stop replying about this particular matter. We got both our points across, that WSR style archery can't exist due to swapping of controls and my point being the opposite. GG.

Oh no, Senap, you're not getting away that easily.

NOOOO!!! Senap has survived my plan to kill him with archery gestures and a Wii controller, I have failed.

My point is, it's not intuitive. People always pull a bowstring with their dominant hand. It's actually easier to aim with your dominant hand also, which is why I think they'll stick with the pointer thing.

Yeah, but you used your dominant hand, didn't you? Cmon, admit it

And yes, you aren't allowed to tell Nintendo how they should have Link control his sword and boomerang. Prove me otherwise.

IN CONCLUSION:
I think that they should stick with the pointer system in TP, because it would get annoying to pull back my arms every time I want to shoot something, as nothing else in the game would have nearly as much motion (even swords could be used with a flick of the wrist).

Oh no
I can barely keep up with the three Zelda Wii threads as it is, can't spend more time on this one.

All the motion controls could get tiring. We'll see, as we haven't really had an action adventure game with heavy motion controls yet.

I hope they replace the point-and-shoot archery with something else because, even though it works flawlessly, it isn't that fun to use - at least not for me.

Re: Zelda-esque Gameplay in Wii Sports Resort?

I understand what Double A is saying...

-you would use the sword/Wii remote with your dominant hand.
-you would also pull back on the bow/wii remote with your dominant hand
-but for the bow to work and aim properly, the wii remote would have to be in front.

perhaps the pointer is best
But would pulling the wiiremote instead really make that much of a difference?

What if u could decide how to shoot protectiles (very possible if the game isn't WM+ exclusive). I would probably choose the WSR way because of the challenge.
