Remember that they are from both different styles of art.

She might not even be the fairy. Notice the difference in graphics compared to WW and TP.

To be fair, the amount of change between WW Link and Painting Link is about equal to the amount of difference between WW Fairy Queen and Painting Girl.

I'm going to go ahead and say that, if she's not THE Master Sword, she at least has a definite connection to it.

I second this picture (in Blockade's post).
The resemblance to the sword is unmistakable upon inspection.
This would clear up why Link isn't holding a sword in the illustration, as well.
I also somehow think that turning the sword into a character (more focus on the sword) could mean MotionPlus, maybe?

I concede that she also looks like the WW great fairy.
Perhaps it's both somehow?

Zelda does recycle characters, though. The girl might merely be this Zelda's version of the Queen of Fairies (which, honestly, is most likely in my opinion). My personal theory is that she is the Queen of Fairies, just one with a much stronger connection to the Master Sword than past iterations. Well, we'll see in time.

My theory was right, the girl looks alot like the master sword. And she is probably Link's sidekick that helps him on his journey.

The Zeldas, both CT and AT, take place in the same universe. I would say that a supernatural being such as the Queen of Fairies has probably existed since before the split, and would exist in both time lines.

On top of that, we don't even know when this takes place. It could be on the AT, shortly before or after WW for all we know. It could even take place before OoT.

I'm in the group that says this girl is somehow related to the Master Sword. Miyamoto said "notice Link doesn't have his sword" and we wouldn't explain the girl.

Pretty sure that this points to the girl being either the personification of the MS or closely related to it.

Here's another reason why this game could work. People complained how Link being right handed in Wii was stupid since Link has always been a lefty. Well! Maybe ditching the sword could solve the problem.

The promo artwork is ALWAYS designed to whore out a game's "new" thing. WW it was sailing, TP it was wolf form. In Zelda Wii, it'll probably be fistfighting.

I think this game will take place in the adult timeline after Ocarina of Time and before the Windwaker. That is what my brain told me to explain to mee the WW-fairy resemblance. Also the angle doesn't let me see for sure if he has his hair in OoT Link's style or the TP Link style. But either way would work for me. =P

Anyway, don't pay attention to me and lets keep the ideas rolling, hahah. It is always so much fun to laugh at oneself once the game is out and we can compare it to all the ideas originated from the few trailers and drawsings.

I really want to see what your evidence is for the implementation of fistfighting for Zelda Wii. The nunchuk fails at 1:1 motion.

Fist fighting with 2 MotionPluses. Nun-chuck is a non-issue.

I highly doubt fistfighting is the new thing... Who in the right mind would take on a Darknut with their bare hands? Plus, the sword is Link's thing. Link without a sword by default just seems...odd.

Yeah she's the master sword, she resembles it too much and the fact Miyamoto said "Link has no sword" hints us that something has happend with it!

the fact that we can see Links back without a sword, but then there's this girl standing infront of his back where usually the mastersword is stting, is another hint..

I fail to see how that would even work. The only way you can use two motion pluses is if you have two Wii remotes... How would you control Link then? And there is no way there will be fist fighting instead of sword fighting. Miyamoto said during his roundtable discussion to think of the next Zelda while you play the sword and archery game in Wii Sports Resort.
