Re: New IGN interview: Link has no sword? Not TP sequel
That's actually what I'm hoping for as well... But I don't want to get my hopes up. Before twilight Princess I thought Zelda would get a bigger role then she had before... But she got the opposite, she got less then 5 minutes of screentime and wasn't at all important to the storyline.
Besides the girl is actually shorter than Link, and we all know Twilight Princess Zelda is one foot taller then Link himself. Edit: Well Miyamoto did just hint that this won't be the sequal of Twilight Princess, maybe a new Link and a new Princess Zelda?

Since when did we figure out that picture wasn't a fake?
But I think it would be cool to have some sort of spirit sword and more magic!!!

Re: New IGN interview: Link has no sword? Not TP sequel
Well, after reading IGN's interview, I'm going to go ahead and take a guess that the girl with her back against Link's can transform into his sword... Pretty bizarre I know, but Miyamoto actually pointed out that Link does not have a sword in his hand in the interview. Furthermore, the girl is right against Link's back, which is where Link's sword is always sheathed. Could this be a hint that she is in fact his weapon? I realize that this is pretty far fetched but I could actually see the Zelda team doing something like this. Well, that's my theory anyways.

As I said, it could mean anything. It's such an abstract word when applied to Zelda.

Re: New IGN interview: Link has no sword? Not TP sequel
What picture is everybody talking about? I just read the interview, and all I see are three pictures of Miyamoto. Sure they mentioned a piece of artwork depicting an older Link that's heading into his adulthood, but I have yet to see any picture of Link, or a little girl that's being mentioned in this thread.
Would anybody please care to post the picture here in this thread? -BGS

The leaked picture is real because gonintendo recognized the picture and they were present at the roundtable, but they refused to show the picture on their site because it was against Nintendo's rule

Re: New IGN interview: Link has no sword? Not TP sequel
Maybe it means Link has to collect pieces of the master sword:
"IGN: Has he lost his Master Sword? Shigeru Miyamoto: [Laughing] I just wanted to make sure that you understand we are making it. That's all I'm going to say on that subject." So maybe he means that in the game it's not to a point were Link has made it or whatever.

Nothing mindblowingly new in that interview, but he did say a lot of things I found interesting. For one, I'm glad this is completely different from Twilight Princess. Not because it "lolsucks", but I just think one game is enough for that style, and it had a definite ending too. Two, I like how he talked about ramping the difficulty up. They've been saying this about their new Mario games too, so maybe it'll give a little more challenge this time around for both games.

Ah, thank you L176 & Zeldablue777 for bringing that picture forth and into light (it will make further discussion a little more easier to people who don't know what picture we're all now refering to).

I'd love to see a clearer (possibly a hi-def) version of the picture before I start making theories, but for now, it's a good one to start with (just be prepared to make drastic changes when the time comes). -BGS
