*Shakes head* No, they said if there were thirty they'd eliminate from there in pairs of tens until the top ten. I'm sure the same applies for forty/fifty entries. I wouldn't worry about "too many" entries. : )

10th Rider, did you try pming one of the judges to ask?

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection

I hate to double post, but here's my entry.

B.A.W.C.

Big, Angry, Wayward Cucco

Cuccos were all the rage. The Happy Mask Salesman almost went out of business. The amount of dogs roaming the streets at night grew so it was inevitable for a child to be followed home. The family of breeders in Kakariko was always busy. Supply and demand began to catch up with them. Children wanted more. Cojiro was blue. They wanted blue. The fun once found with Anju and her cuccos disappeared. Her father insisted upon more and more specialized treatment, and her cuccos began to flee their pen, as if sensing some impending doom. Anju turned to a boy named Link for help, unable to catch them by herself, due to a strange allergy she gained when touching their feathers, something she did not have when she played with them as a child, before they became so popular. Before Link left the town, Anju encouraged him to talk to her brother. Grog had turned to moping beneath the tree near the entrance of the village, muttering about people (especially his mother and father) being disgusting.

Years passed, and when cuccos once again became the fad Anju’s father hoped for, the breeding suddenly had a breakthrough. Pocket cuccos were invented. Then the cuccos became temperamental, and stopped crowing. What had once started as a simple hobby turned into an ugly biological alteration project. Anju had no one to turn to, no one to help expose her father’s experiments he held inside that hole behind the witches’ hut. Remembering Link and what he had done for her before, Anju gave him a pocket cucco, hoping he could make it crow. According to her brother, only “nice guys” could make them crow. After his success, Anju begged Link for help and led him to the hole. If he succeeded in finding her father and mother as well as Cojiro, she would gladly give the rare cucco to him…

Tortus’ Underground

The dungeon in a sense is much like a normal underground passage you’d see when falling through a hole in Ocarina of Time, involving more puzzles than actual monsters to fight, since this quest is completely optional, but must be completed in order to get the Biggeron’s sword since you must gain Cojiro to begin the series of exchanges. It is the first noticeable use of wires in the Legend of Zelda series as well, as they frequently decorate the wall as if running somewhere in particular…

*Cucco Balloon*

(This idea [name, gliding concept] belongs to MithosK, developer of the 3d Link’s Awakening, from what I gather.)

This is the dungeon’s special item gained after Link saves Anju’s mother halfway through the dungeon. Using this, Link can jump from any surface while holding it and either glide or float in midair, depending on if there is wind underneath him or pushing him somewhere. If there is no air, he will slowly drop to the ground as he would if holding a normal cucco. Think of the hover boots, but the cucco balloon makes Link’s aviary attempts much more stable and will not fade after a short period of use. If used for the Wii, a player can use the nunchuck to guide Link’s direction and move the actual wiimote up and down to make the cucco balloon flap, giving Link both longer air distance and a bit of added height depending on how fast it’s done. Also, if the wiimote is swung to the side, Link can still use his sword or choose another weapon to use while in flight/hover mode, which would switch his view to first person.

The Boss Room & The Opening Scene

Feathers are scattered along the floor, which is boarded up and obviously in need of repair. Hay is strewn everywhere and there are piles of it (much like piles of leaves from the Forest Temple in Twilight Princess) around the poorly hammered- together wood. These can be blown away during the battle or slashed like grass to reveal hearts. There are two places to fight in this arena, the bottom floor and two sets of stairs, each leading Link to the upper level of the room, which encircles around much like a horseshoe before leading back down to the first floor. The second floor is broken up, but still traversable thanks to the cucco balloon.

Link enters cautiously and immediately comes upon Cujiro pecking at the floor. Cujiro looks up at Link, and clucks in a flustered manner when he sees the master sword. Link looks at his sword and quickly sheathes it, but when he approaches Cujiro, the cucco flies upwards. Link steps forward and looks up, only to see a mass of white approaching from above and then slamming into the ground, sending him sprawling back, where he gets up to face…

~B.A.W.C. ~ Boss Description

Link will stare in horror at the biggest cucco he’s ever seen. Judging from the glare in those dark, deceptively innocent eyes, this cucco doesn’t want to be teased. The cucco crows and the battle begins.

Battle Begins B.A.W.C. Stage One

The first stage of defeating BAWC is simple, once you know the method. Unfortunately, nothing will do damage until Link outwits the cucco. On the first floor Link is simply prey for BAWC’s pecking attack, which takes one heart and a half. Climb to the second floor and use the new cucco balloon to float your way across the broken parts of the floor. There is a machine on a broken piece of the second floor. Using the cucco balloon, glide near the machine and start it. Don’t waste time, since waiting will cause BAWC to ram into the wall and send Link flying back to the first floor, losing two hearts. Once you start the machine, this will cause fans on the first floor to blow upwards. Now Link can hover. Keep in mind the machines must be restarted as they fade, or Link will no longer be able to hover. Using the ability to hover, as long as Link is on the second floor, BAWC cannot reach him with the ramming or pecking. Once Link is hovering, the camera switches to let the player see BAWC below from an overhead view. As the chicken tries to ram the wall, the player will notice a loose board near him jiggle.

This is the time to act. Drop down, being careful not to drop from too high or too fast to avoid falling damage. The board which jiggled needs to be destroyed. This can be done in two manners depending on how far the player is in the game. Link can either use the megaton hammer or wait for BAWC to attempt a pecking attack, rolling or backflipping out of the way in time for the boss to destroy the board. When the board is destroyed, BAWC will notice some wires beneath and mistake them for worms. Pecking at them with an amusing cutscene, the boss will drop to the ground, leaving Link free to attack. This must be repeated a few times before BAWC gets angry.

Stage Two BAWC's Revenge

Now things get harder and the strategy must slightly change. After Link ascends to the top floor once again, BAWC will unleash a new attack every Zelda fan should recognize from the pits of their deepest fears. The dreaded crow. Now every time Link is on the second floor or hovering, the barrage of smaller cuccos will fly towards him, trying to take him out of the air, but not following him after he’s knocked to the first floor. Again Link must take the overhead view, but now while avoiding the kamikaze cuccos. Once more Link must locate the weak board, and again destroy it, so BAWC electrocutes itself.

This time, in a burst of smoke, several cuccos will come from the previous huge one. You must destroy them all, but Link will only have time to take out three at most before they recombine (much like Floormasters in Ocarina of Time) and Link will have to go through the process repeatedly to eliminate more as the huge cucco becomes smaller. Do not take this for granted, not all cuccos will bounce around on the floor as they are known for in Ocarina of Time. The closer the player gets to the last few cuccos, the harder the targeting will be. Some cuccos will only fly, which will urge the player to use both the new cucco balloon and the new integrations of the wiimote to battle while in the air. After several repetitions, BAWC will be defeated.

*End Scene*

Along with a heartpiece, Cojiro will appear, seeing Link approach him, this time holding the sword tightly just in case of another attack. Cojiro will look intimidated and fly upwards, this time leaving an egg behind him. As Link approaches, the egg will hatch, revealing a key which will open a door to Anju’s father. Link will gain Cujiro after he approaches Anju in Kakariko village.

*Notes*

I wanted to create a boss somewhat based on something Link has seen before, something that would have a reason to attack him, but having nothing to do with Ganondorf in the long run. Honestly some of the bosses I've enjoyed the most in the past games focus more on storyline and don't have to depend on the "evil king creation" card to make themselves Zelda-applicable. It took a lot of brainstorming and thought about people Link has met, since I originally wanted to do an "evil" person twist, but with "Puppet Zelda" in Twilight Princess I thought it had been done before. I finally settled upon cuccos.

When you think about it, they're one of the biggest, most mysterious things in Hyrule. We don't know or learn much about them, yet they've been in nearly every game since the series began, starting with a Link to the Past. I don't think I've ever met a Zelda enthusiast who hasn't slashed at cuccos enough to die a horrible pecking-related death at least once. A normal-sized cucco might not pose enough threat, but a huge one? And the name/fighting strategy spawned from there.

Who's to say the breeding of cuccos couldn't turn ugly? There was that one cucco in A Link to the Past who turned into a woman when you sprinkled magic powder on her. Who knows. Maybe it's a conspiracy. Maybe they're plotting against Hyrule and no one knows. That's what's behind those beady little eyes. All in all, I think Cuccos would be great boss material, especially if the swarm attack is used. Every Zelda enthusiast would be tested.

I also wanted to add a little of the explanation of the thought behind the backstory, in case anyone is interested. Once the cucco idea popped up, it turned out to be a bit more difficult than anticipated to add the biography. I figured cuccos would make good pets, and like a lot of things, supply and demand would force breeders into mayhem. Anju having the allergy never really made sense to me since she must have been around them for a while. So I figured the allergy came with the experimentation her father brought. To my knowledge, what Grog mutters about his parents and being disgusting is never revealed outright. I think it all fits together very well and is an original use of a familiar "enemy". ~Thank you for considering and taking the time to read my entry!

Edit: Added some more concept notes, added notes to second stage of boss.

Dude, Sakume...I think a giant, vicious, man-eating Cucco is one of the most awesome boss concepts that I have ever seen.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection

All the entries that have been submitted to this point have been listed on the entries post. There are currently 35 participants from ZU and 8 from Nsider. I'm very pleased with the continuing enthusiasm for the contest, and I'm very glad many of you are enjoying and taking part of Design a Boss; however, I am kind of dissapointed that Nsider has not yet showed the same amount of interest. There's still some time left to join, so I'm going to see what I can do to get Nsider to tighten the competition.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection

THIS ENTRY IS OUTDATED AND HAS BEEN REPLACED BY A NEWER ENTRY
I wish they would of done more with Ganondorf, this replaces my second entry:

Ganondorf Dragmire
The Dark Lord of Evil

This is but one of the legends of which the people speak.
Long ago, there existed a kingdom where a golden power lay hidden. It was a prosperous land, blessed with green forests, tall mountains, and peace. But one day a man of great evil found the golden power and took it for himself. With its strength at his command; he spread darkness across the kingdom, crushing all that opposed him. But then, when all hope seemed lost, and the hour of doom seemed at hand. A young boy clothed in green appeared as if from nowhere. Wielding the sword of evil's bane, he sealed the dark one away and gave the land light. This boy, who traveled through time to save the land, was called the Hero of Time.
The boy's tale was passed down through generations until it became legend, legend became myth, and myth became forgotten. But one day, like all things immortal, they came back.

It was a day the same as any other, nobody would have even a little inkling about what was about to happen. It was just a little Kokori, but he stumbled upon the seal of the old king Ganondorf, and awoke him. But for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and so with the awakening of Ganondorf, Link too was awakened.

Link's quest:
This time, Link must collect the eight elemental stones (air, fire, water, ice, stone, electricity, light, and shadow) each one gives him new powers to use with his weapons for multiple combinations (light bombs, electricity arrows, ice boomerang, etc...) -however there's only three elements you can use for each item-. As well as a dungeon for each of these, there are also three dungeons Ganondorf takes you too. The first being the dungeon of time (in the past), the second being the dungeon of dimensions (in the great sea), and the dungeon of Death (in an underworld like place, where Ganondorf was locked away). It is in the dungeon of death were you finally are able to fight Ganondorf.

The boss fight:

Appearance:
This time Ganondorf is no skimpy armored dude, he is in a huge suit of smooth rock. He wields a huge double edged Gerudo Broadsword. He has a Purple cape, and a gem set in his head.

Intro movie:
As Link walk into the dark cave-like room Ganondorf turns around to look at him "They hate me, they look upon me with disgust, and I am forced to live in recluse. Even you Link, the most like me, hate me. Your entire life has always revolved upon killing me. Why? Is there some reason you want me dead? Is it for the glory? I've gotten what I deserved in the past, but why now? What did I do this time?" Link slowly puts his guard down for a moment to think about it, and within a second Ganondorf has him forced against the wall choking him. He kicks Ganondorf away, but he only has a split second to gain his breath before Ganondorf jumps at him, stabbing the ground where Link was a moment before.

Stage one item:
The boomerang, pretty self-explanatory.

Stage one fight:
Ganondorf's attacks are pretty simple here; if you get too close he slashes at you with an unblockable attack. Pretty simple, don't get close. The second attack he will jump at you and try and stab you from above, again simple, just roll out of the way. To hurt him you just roll out of the way, quickly turn around, pull out the boomerang and hit the gem on his head with the element that matches the color of the gem on his head and his eyes.

Movie 1:
Thee fourth time you hit him he tries to speak, but he is cut short by Link jumping a slashing at him, he flips back and the room slowly turns into a circular shape and the battle continues.

Stage two items:

Bombs, Iron boots, and arrows. all self-explanatory.

Stage two fight:

Basically the same as the first, but you must have the iron boots on to walk around the room. As he jumps at you take off the iron boots, you'll fall opposite to where your standing, then you must immediately turn around and shoot him in the back with a bomb arrow. The main thing that's different is that you have to remember the color of his eyes as he charges at you, and then when you shoot him you must use the corresponding element.

Movie 2:
After four hits the room will turn back into the first cave-like room. Ganondorf will fall on his knees screaming, slowly his scream turns into a roar and in a flash of shadow he turns into beast Ganon.

Stage three item:
The Dragon's breath is a long whip like thing, it consists of many small still big enough to tell what they are) side-view dragon heads, each connected by a small (but strong) rope, they also each turn 90 degrees to the side (so that every other one would rotate 180 degrees), and the last one is larger and has sharp ridges sticking out of the top and bottom of it's head. It may be used like the grappling hook or as a whip (has long range and can hook enemies, but you can't dodge well using it). You'd swing the Wii remote to whip. While you had the dragon's breath out certain things will have a circle around them when aimed at with the Wii remote, and in that case press and hold A while aiming at it and swing the Wii remote to hook it, and then depending on the object multiple things can be done to it.

Stage three fight:
The main concept here is to use one of the stalactites to swing onto beast Ganon's back. However, it is a lot harder than it sounds. He will charge around the room pretty wildly trying to hit you. If you do get on his back then you must steer him into the wall. Each time you do steer him into the wall, he will start moving faster and wilder.

Movie 4:
After running him into the wall four times beast Ganon’s back will start stretching outward, and after a long screech two wings will break out and his head will stretch into a beak. He then will screech again and the ceiling will explode outward and Link will be standing on a plateau. Then the battle commences.

Stage four item:
The Rod, it's a pretty simple name, but it can be infused with ice to freeze things, fire to melt ice, or even electricity to animate statues (like the Dominion rod in TP).

Stage four fight:

Bird Ganon's (I guess that's his name) attacks consists of simple things such as swooping down to scratch you, etc. The key to the fight is when he swoop down at you aim the rod at his wings, and freeze both of them (one then the other). When frozen he will crash into the plateau (watch out) and you can run up to his head and hit it with your sword.

Movie 5:
After 16 hits with your sword bird Ganon will hop around wildly until he jumps into the lava that is rising around the plateau. Then, as Link finds himself standing on an island, a giant serpent rises out of the lava.

Stage five items:

The clawshot, self-explanatory. The Goron's clasher is an axe. Although it can be used for combat, it can get stuck in the floor or ceiling if you miss the enemy so it's not advised. However if you do hit the enemy it can break their shield or block. It of course, will not be used for that in this boss fight. Its other use is to hack trees over, slash through ropes, or break through walls.

Stage five fight:

The attacks are again obvious ones, chopping at you, stuff like that. The main idea of how to hurt him is to use the clawshot when he tries to bite you. When he does you must clawshot his neck, after you he will try to throw you off, to stay on simply flick the Wii remote the direction he flicks his head (you can tell what direction he will flick his head by watching the lower part of his neck). After he stops trying to throw you off he will start sinking into the lava, what you must do now is pull out the Goron's clasher and hack at his neck.

Movie 6:

After Link hacks a gash in his neck (after getting on his neck 4 times) serpent Ganon will slowly sink back into the lava, defeated? No when all seems finally over a huge dragon rises out of the lava and starts flying around the island.

Stage six items:
The last two items needed for this fight are the Rito armor (used for flying), and the lens of truth. The later is just like in OoT and the Rito armor can be used to glide (like when holding a cuckoo) or to fly (press A).

Stage six fight:
Dragon Ganon will fly around the room clawing at you, biting at you, and shooting fireballs at you. What you must do is first hit a fireball back and forth until it hits him, and then well he's stunned fly up there using the Rito armor and the lens of truth. You will notice somewhere (it changes) on him where he actually has no scales, what you must do is fly up to that spot and swing the Wii remote to stab your sword into it. However be careful, as you not only have to do it before he's un-stunned, but you also have to watch your magic meter.

Movie 7:

After stabbing him in four places, he will crash too the ground and explode, and Ganondorf will rise from the fire and slowly start walking towards Link saying "you have bested me in all of my forms, now let's see who can win with a blade."

Stage seven items:
None

Stage seven fight:

As Ganondorf said this is one of the simplest forms of combat, it is a basic sword fight; the only problem is that you seem to be unable to hurt Ganondorf. He will use many different attacks ranging from charging at you, launching magic attacks at you, etc. What you have to do is wait for him to launch up in the air, when he does press A when it pops up at the bottom of the screen, when you do Link will jump towards one of the rocks that flew up when Ganondorf did, when you hit the first one flick in the direction of the second one and so on. But be careful, Ganondorf will try and you shoot you with magic blasts and you must press the shield button the second they hit you otherwise you will be knocked off of the rock. Eventually you will reach Ganondorf in the air, it will then go into a sequence with the Wii remote at the bottom of the screen, it will then flick in a certain direction, when it does, you must do the same thing with the Wii remote you hold in your hand. When you do it right within enough time, you will block Ganondorf's slash at you and hit him with your own slash. If you miss however, Ganondorf will hit you. You will be given the chance to hit him ten times. Once you hit him forty times the battle is over and you have conquered the dark lord of evil.

Movie 8:

Ganondorf will be sting there at his knees, he will stare at Link for a second with his mouth gaping wide, but in one swift movement Link stabs him through with the master sword. After that Ganondorf will speak “Link, you know I am not defeated.” And he slowly turns a crisp black (like he’s burnt) and explodes.

Talking CROMMORGOTTAH!!!!!

Crommorgottah!! The silk sloth!!!. This is an intricate boss that is a shiny, silky, creamy gold looking thing That has a creepy smiling mask on. The thing is it has a blood red orb that it uses to SMASH you. In its normal mode its floating and looks as if it's hugging the orb. There is a rubber-band like piece of flesh that holds the two together. One of his attacks is he throws the blood orb at you and you have to dodge, another is the blood orb excretes little flying bug things that swarm around you. The next attack is the one that you hurt him on: he lets the ball out and swings it around, if you press the action button you will hop over the flesh, if your too far in the back you will be hit by the big orb. The thing you want to do is slice the stringy flesh after this he will fall, keep slashing the flesh he will be damaged but get back before he recovers as he will pull back the orb and it will hit you. as this goes on he will swing faster and be more aggressive.

Note: This boss could be in a temple themed with misty and eerie surroundings.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection

Scratch that stupid Ganondorf entry, here is my REAL second entry, I really wanted to try and merge the description the attacks and everything else into as few paragraphs as possible while still being descriptive, and I think I nailed that goal:
Zareth
Master of Chemistry

Zareth was always first up in the morning, cooking breakfast for everyone, going about the kitchen almost always singing and smiling. He would make whatever was needed without ever getting paid, eventually becoming the most well known chef in all of Hyrule. That led him to become the chef of the King of Hyrule, unfortunately the King's adviser Ganondorf took the thrown. Slowly all the courteous knights of Hyrule were replaced by dirty, lazy, ugly slobs. And slowly he watched his life's work literally being thrown to the beasts. Eventually he couldn't take it anymore. He started studying every type of plant he could find, even going to the now deep dark bathrooms of Hyrule castle to find fungi and other plants, he tested it on rats and every other horrible creature he could find, he eventually no longer even considered himself a chef, he didn't even care. He now went about his new studies singing quietly and smiling. He tried many times to poison King Ganondorf, but each attempt left nothing to show, so he would intensify he studies. Then, after Link defeated King Ganondorf, he went off to the Gerudo dessert to live alone and was never seen again.

Then one day, while looking for means to stop a corruption spreading across Hyrule, Link stumbled upon Zareth's house. It was the most amazing place Link had ever seen, it started as just one simple cave, but it branched off. The deeper he got the more fungi he found, eventually he realized the walls almost seemed alive. Then started the monsters, horrible, mutant, beasts. They crawled around, their eyes were glowing but never seemed to be looking at anything. When Zareth found out, he wanted Link dead, he had never tried a human subject before. He tried to send his bigger mutant pets to kill Link, but he defeated every single one. Link was even able to use one of Zareth's creature's glowing eyes to illuminate areas and see things he couldn't see before. Then after conquering almost all of the caves, Link finally reached the one Zareth was in. He could only stare in dead horror at what was in front of him. Zareth, who looked almost dwarf like, just stared at Link with his bloodshot eyes as he slowly raises his arm, which is replaced by a butcher's knife, and wipes it on his ancient apron. Then the room starts shaking and mutant Baba Serpents shoot out of the floor, and the battle commences

For most of the match you must dodge his various attacks as well as dodging the gas that spews from the ground. His attacks include various slashes at you with his hand/knife, throwing a bomb/grenade at you, and slashing the ground causing more mutant Baba Serpents to pop up. To hurt him you have to wait for him to throw a bomb at you, then use your shield to hit it back at him, now this might seem like the classic "back and forth" game. But this time it's more like hot potato, you will notice the bomb is flashing red, the faster it's flashing red the closer it is to blowing up. If it appears to be that it will blow up when it hits you, roll out of the way. If it appears that it'll hit him, let it fly. After it hits him he'll be vulnerable to whacks from your sword.
After sixteen hits with your sword he will yell and you'll notice that some of the stalactites on the ceiling fall. So this time in order to hurt him you have to drop one down on top of him by shooting it with a bomb arrow, if it misses the floor will break underneath it and though it's not possible to break the floor enough to have to worry too much, it's still good to not knock them down unless you're going to hit him. If you hit him with one you can whack him with your sword again.
After sixteen hits he will run at Link, but Link will jump aside dodging it, you'll notice however that when he hits the wall it cracks a little. So this time to hurt him you wait for him to charge you, then when he charges you roll out of the way so that he rams into the wall, after hitting a spot on the wall four times it wall break and he will collapse through it, that is your chance to runs up and whack him with your sword again.
After you hit him sixteen times he will fall to his knees, mouth gaping wide, burning red eyes staring at Link, and slowly he will open his mouth as if to say something, then close it to spit at Link. Then he just falls over and explode leaving a heart container.

10th, you should go back and edit your previous second entries and erase them so as to simplify things for the judges.

I'm leaving them so that people can read them and maybe get ideas or something (or as an example).

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection

Nightmare of a Sage

Setting
Link ones again faces the difficult challenge of saving Hyrule from Ganondorf and his army of evilness. With the aid of the sages he is seeking ancient relics which hopefully will grant him access to the sacred realm. He ventures into the depths of uncharted onyx caves, in which according the legend, one of those relics sleeps. The caves are mostly composed of pitchblack onyx rock, but here and there are gemstones and diamonds that radiates the very limited lighting of the caves. There are several underwater lakes and currents aswell.

Aiding him in this dungeon is a gorgeous female sage of the same age as himself. She is optimistic and is eager to help but alas she's physically not strong at all and isn't very helpful in combat. Link and her relationship through the course of the dungeon will be "Ico-ish", if you know what i mean.
But somewhere in the dungeon they get separated and Link does not find her until...

Intro
Link enters the boss room, a large room where a spring of light sneaks through a crack in the onyx ceiling and illuminates the floor where heaps of onyx stones of different shapes and sizes lay. In the middle of the room he spots the sage, she's standing in some sort of trance looking at him with pale eyes and appear to be holding something in her arms. As Link approaches her she recoil in fear and starts to scream, Link is shocked and don't what has gotten into her. Then the fight starts.

Boss Design

At first the sage is sorrounded by a sphere of light (summoned by her sage magic) and that represents the "Heart" of the boss. The tricky part is that the sphere attracts (like a magnet) the onyx stones that are scattered all around the stage. These stones form a protective armour around the sphere (with legs and arms), but the important thing is that it's puzzled together of the stones that happen to be in it's vicinity and therefore does never look the same each time you fight him. And the boss will constantly repair itself with new stones, so Link have to be aggressive in order to break down the armour. The sphere shines brightly at all times, so the boss won't be camouflaged by the black walls.

So how do you kill it?
Simple, Link has to break or make the stones fall of the armour in order to make the sphere vulnerable. To do this is very simple, you use your powergloves that you found in the dungeon to lift up and start hurling rocks at it, or bashing it with them. Imagine those giant black pillars you could lift in the end of OoT, Link could barely lift up and throw them and they were several times his own size. Stones of those portions, and several smaller should make up your arsenal in the fight. The trick is that the boss keeps repairing the armour, so Link have to attack aggressively in order to get to the sphere. When he breaks the sphere, he wins. But the boss AI will also be full on aggressive, so the idea is that this is a battle of power. There will chill out and maybe go find some hearts, the player have to constantly focus on the boss.

Boss attacks
The boss attacks primary by either stomping and bashing Link or throwing rocks at him. The only way to counter hm is to fight back with idealy even bigger rocks that are heavier than his.
Other than that Link has to be careful when he is attracting new rocks, becouse they can hit Link on the way towards him. Also if Link does not attack him fast enogh he will channel a "Tornado of Onyx" where he attracts several onyx stones that spin around him and is very hard for Link avoid.

My entry is "Jail Guard Botan," not just "Botan."

ALSO: Boss Appearance: He has broken black and red armor on his torso, with spiked gloves. On his legs, he has broken armor, with tattoos. His head is a revealed face. Long and messy black hair. Insane expression. He has black root like tattoos leading to his left eye.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection

My boss would be called terross, a final boss. He has a lot of parts, one part for each item you get. You wou have to stay out of the center. Also, each part is 2 times as hard as the origional boss, defeated in the same way, or a new way. (For the all-item use, of coarse!) When defeated, you still have a trial, escape the dungeon! It would be long, and about 5 minuites to escape. After which, a really hard sword fight. But, this boss would then unlock the following features. :

-different graphics

-other games (any or just Zelda.)

-you can fight any boss or mini-boss again.

-you can change your tunic color.

-you get a mii of all bosses and important characters (If you can)

-anything else fans think of.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection

Corrupted Wooden Slave
Possesed Deku Tree
Someone else had an idea similar to this, but mine is a little different.
Origin:
Not long after The Hero Of Time had saved Hyrule and crept away from the land that had made him a legend, Gannondorf had taken the remains of the former Deku Tree from the forest. He had then used his power to turn this husk into a beast...
Temple:
The Temple will be a forest that never ends, and it will be easy to get hopelessly, hopelessly lost. The boss door will actually be a wall of petrified trees and the only way to open it will be to use the boss tree on a catapault that will throw a rock at the trees.
You'll then rush through the trees while they're falling (in a cutscene) and they will fall behind you, blocking the way back. The Boss room will be a huge clearing and you'll notice the Former Deku Tree's body.
The Battle:
When you see the Deku Tree, it will suddenly start floating. Then, dozens of deku babas will start popping in and out of the ground. There are four torches in the corners of the room. You have to shoot an arrow through one at the Deku Tree's leaves. They'll instantly catch fire and the tree will come crashing into the ground, with its mouth open.
Then you must rush into it, avoiding as many deku babas as possible. Now, you'll have less then a minute before the Deku Tree starts floating again. If this happens, you'll be forced out of the tree and miss one of your four chances to attack the Deku Tree, as the torch will have gone out. The boss will become impossible to beat then. The inside of the tree will be a carbon copy of the first room of the Deku Tree in OoT. But this time, there are stairs on the second floor leading to the top of the Deku Tree. You'll have to hit a knob in the middle of the tree's head. You'll only be able to hit it once, though, as the Deku Tree will now toss you off and start floating again.
Repeat this all two more times and the tree will start shaking dozens of deku nuts from its branches. Do everything one more time and the onslaught of deku babas and nuts will finally end. The deku tree will burst into flames, leaving behind a great, gaping hole in the ground. You jump in and end up in the boss room from the Deku Tree in OoT. It contains the item needed to collect from the temples in this game, as well as a piece of heart.
Warping out, you will come across the Deku Tree Bud, already halfway grown. He will thank you and it will now be the time to leave the forest.
