Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
Above the Clouds (Lightning Dungeon).
Many doors in the dungeon consist of lightning operated doors, so Link must disrupt the flow to open or close them. There are open rooms where Link must dodge lightning blasts, or avoid the water at correct times. Some of the enemies can only be defeated by knocking them in the water and activating a lightning blast. Mini-boss: Raima A yellow imp with electricity crackling around it. It attacks by jumping in the air, shooting lightning at Link, or doing a lightning dive at him. To defeat it, you must either throw your boomerang through him and onto one of the small metal panels on the wall, or trick him into diving at you and hitting a pool of water instead, thus shorting out his electricity. Then, he is safe to attack with your sword. Defeating him upgrades the gale boomerang to the Storm boomerang, which generates a length of electric conduit while it flies, so you can connect two things with electricity. Boss: Twilit Thunder, Fulgarine (fulgur is latin for thunder, if memory serves) A giant mass of electricity in the shape of a dog. It is fed by three orb-shaped conduits, one in its forehead, one in the floor (not the arena floor, but one far below), and one on a tower. Fulgarine attacks by swiping at him with its paw, snapping at him, or shooting lightning from its tail while running around the arena. To stun it, you must either disrupt the feeder stream by using a bomb arrow to dislodge a rock, by firing an arrow, or something else (the bigger the obstacle, the longer Fulgarine's electricity drains), or by creating a short circuit between the two stationary nodes using the Storm Boomerang. As Fulgarine's electricity drains, it becomes smaller and faster, until it is nothing but the orb. The orb can be attacked with the Ball & Chain, Hammer, Sword, Bombs, etc. Eventually, the orb explodes into a fragment of the Sword of Light, needed to defeat Ganondorf.

First boss
A little History: Karna was a powerful tyrant who had came overseas to conquer new lands. Arriving in the seas south of Hyrule, Karna set out to rule the land. With his armies and him at the front leading them, they took control of Hyrule one village at a time. None of this conquest would have been possible without Karna's golden spear. Made up of ten magical items, each giving him a unique power that aided him in battle. Others had tried to weild these items, but at a severe cost, it seemed that Karna was the only one who knew their secret and did not get affected by them. Just when Karna was about to take over the last city far in the north, where the Royal Family had resided, as well as the Temple of Time, he was stopped at the front walls by six beings. These six were the sages who watched over Hyrule's safety. The sages used their magic, as well as Karna's own spear's magic against him and sealed him away into a massive golden sarcophogus, with his spear separated into it's ten individual pieces placed on it's sides. With their leader gone, the armies fled in fear, returning to their ships and sailing away, never to be seen of heard from again. The sages took the sarcophogus and placed it into a cave. They then built a temple around it to make sure no one could find the chamber which they kept Karna's still living body, along with his ten magical items. However, they knew that one day, someone would find this, and possibly release Karna from his prison. If Karna was to rise again with his spear and new found revenge, he would swipe over Hyrule with no mercy, killing all in his path. And so, the sages placed a spell on the sarcophogus. Whosoever disturbed the chamber or the sarcophogus, would send the ten magical items flying into the four corners of Hyrule. If the ten items were found and brought back to Karna's chamber, then nothing could stop Karna from being released, but the items were to be hidden, hoping never to be found again, once scattered. Now it is the present, 222 years since the sealing of Karna. The tale has become a myth to the civilians of Hyrule and all have forgotten about Karna or even that he was sealed away. Peace had been granted to Hyrule since then. However, one of the new monks of the temple that Karna was sealed in, has been studying about Karna and wishes to release the tyrant from his prison in order to control of Hyrule. The monk finally finds Karna's chamber and tries to open the coffin. But when he so much as touches the sarcophogus, the ground begins to shake and the ten items vanish from the room as the spell was meant to do. He escapes the temple, realizing what he had done, and ventures off in search of the ten items so he could release Karna. Off someplace else in a forested and rocky village, a boy named Link and some of his friends are journeying around some of the more rocky territory outside of their village. After awhile, they find this cave, all wondering if they should go in or not. Just then, a large flash came from the cave. Without another thought, the group ventures into the cave seeing if they could find the source of the light. Being too dark and no one even thinking about bringing a lantern, the group gets separated from Link. Link being all alone, stumbles in the dark, falling into a crevice. He was not hurt too bad, but seemed to have found a cavern, and at the end of this cavern, was a beam of light coming from the roof, down onto a shiny object wedged into some stones. Pulling it out, Link finds that it is a fairly long blade made of gold, with a thin hilt like it was to be placed into something. Everyone managed to find their way out of the cave and headed back to the village, all surprised at what Link had found. But after a few days his friends have all gone missing leaving only a note behind. It said that if Link was to save his friends, he was to aid some one in finding golden items much like his own. Instead, Link goes after them with his blade. He gets into a fight with another swordsman and was getting beaten badly, until he somehow activated the magical ability and defeated the enemy with ease, freeing his friends. Now Link must travel across Hyrule in search of the other items and to stop Karna from coming back to reign once again. (Now that you guys got some history into what, why, who, and how things are going on. We can get to our boss.) Who: Falis, a tiger who had stumbled upon one of the ten magical items deep within the forest. Which was Karna's emblem, placed onto his staff. Wearing the Emblem on his head, the tiger was bestowed with a golden skeleton-like armor on his body, along with a dragonic helmet, bearing teeth to further it's biting damage, along with dragonic claws on each paw and a tail. There were also three bladed tails emerging from the emblem. With this Emblem, Falis also possess a higher intellect, as well as greater speed and strength than that of a normal tiger. Purpose of Fighting: Ever since Falis had found the Emblem to Karna's spear, the tiger has taken control of the other tigers living in the forest and having them spread their territory out further and futher. Eventually, the tigers reach a village. Some of the villagers see tigers making scrath marks or marking their territory on the trees. When one dared to walk near, he was instantly attacked by the tigers, making it out just barely alive, he warned the rest of the village, as they vacated the village, making it the tigers territory as well. The villagers have now become a nomadic people moving further away as the tigers territory increased. To regain their village, Link must go deep into the beasts' region. He has some difficulty trying to remain invisible to the tigers, but was found out by one at night, Link killed the tiger and skinned it for camoflague, enabling him to walk freely amungst the other tigers. Place of Battle: There is a system of caverns know as the Tiger's Den. It is along a steep cliff with holes up and down the wall of rock with massive roots as pathways on upper levels. The place is crawling with tigers as well as some other unwanted creatures lirking about. Luckily, Link had the tiger skin with him, using the skin and crawling slowly, he was able to blend in with the tigers and not attacked by them. The other creatures are another story though. The boss room is found at the top of the cliff where there seems to be a dead spot in the forest. This is where Falis awaits you, noticing now that you have come too far into his territory. Items used to fight: The spear blade that Link found in the beginning has become his first sword, which is what you'll use to cause most damage to Falis. The blade also has its special ability, being able to heighten Link's reflexes, making it seem that the enemy is moving at a slow rate. However, there is a price to pay for using this ability. If it is used, then Link will recieve damage each time he uses the ability. So if Link is low on health, it is best advised as to not use this power. Another item would be the Tiger Claws. A pair of metal guantlets with claws for each finger. These were used primarily for climbing along the roots that intertwined within most of the caverns. The Tiger Claws will allow Link to take on Falis head on, when the tiger comes close enough or when it jumps at him. How to Fight: There are two phases to this battle. It all starts with Link finally reaching the top of the Den and walking onto the dead region of the forest. Link looks around as he stands in the center of the stage, searching for the cause of this tiger uprising. However, off in the woods, unseen by Link, Falis is stalking him, walking around the stage. Then without another moments notice, Falis leaps out of the brush coming at Link from behind. Link manages to evade the first attack, and his sent to the edge of the stage, leaving Falis at the center. Link turns around to see his opponent to be a large tiger covered in the golden skeleton armor. With a mighty roar that made the trees move by the amount of wind, the battle starts. Phase 1: Falis gets into s crouching position, slowly creeping towards Link with each step. The tiger will follow wherever Link goes, but only slowly. However, if Link thinks he can not get harmed by just running away from Falis as soon as he gets too close to you, think again. If Link gets too far away, then Falis will come at him with a running charge, as it seems that his prey is escaping him. A running charge will be harder to dodge then a slow crawling one. However, in order to defeat Falis, you need to not dodge any of his attacks. Equip the Tiger Claws and wait for Falis to make a creeping leap against Link. At the right moment (probably something like the parry in Windwaker) Link will get into a claw to claw grip with Falis. In this part, Link will need to overpower Falis by pressing a button rapidly on the controller. If Link succeeds, then Falis is thrown away, if not, Falis pushes Link down, causing him some damage. If Link does not have the Tiger Claws equipped during the attack by Falis, there is no chance that Link will stop the tiger and will be automatically thrown back, still recieving damage. When Link throws Falis back successfully, Falis will return to his normal crouching attack, but this time, there is no telling whether Falis will come at Link running or leap at a different distance, Falis may not leap at you until he is mere feet away from Link, so it is best that Link keeps his distance and be ready to counter. After Link has succeeded yet again throwing away Falis, the tiger will become furiated and will change his tactics from not just leaping, but to clawing and biting Link as well. Link must try his best to keep away from these attacks. The attacks can be seen coming quite easily, so as long as Link sees them coming, he can jump to the side or flip backwards to avoid. After the third toss away, Falis will be lying on his back, showing the exposed area of his armor, his belly. Link must run over to Falis' weaken state and use his blade to deal some damage to Falis. After awhile, Falis will throw Link away, no damage, and run into the woods surrounding the stage. Link must be on his guard now awaiting for Falis to come out of the trees and attack him from anywhere. Watching his surroundings, Link can see bushes moving around, or leaves falling from trees (A/N: This could be much better if applied to surround sound, that way, Link could hear the rustling of leaves and tell where it's coming from.) If Link is facing Falis when he leaps out to attack, Link can either dodge it by side stepping, or use his Tiger Claws to throw Falis away. If Link sides steps Falis' attack, then Falis will either go back into the forest if he is close enough, or start attacking Link like the time before. Only when Falis attacks Link from within the stage, can Link actually throw Falis away and then cause damage to the tiger. After another strike in the belly by Link's own blade, Falis will go to phase 2 of the battle. Phase 2: Falis flips up, seeing blood on the ground, knowing that it's his own. The beast lets out another mighty roar at Link. And then another. And another, this time longer. A fourth roar, but this time, longer and harder. With this final roar, two of the three bladed tails on the emblem disappear and reappear on two new tigers who have appeared out of nowhere. These tigers are smaller than Falis and their armor is the same except that they are colored silver instead of gold. Now Link has two more tigers to handle. The two new tigers are not as strong, fast, of durable as their original, one throw and attack to the belly would kill them instantly. Link could deal with these first, and then with the original Falis, but he could waste valuable time and possibly at a cost of some hearts. However, it is wiser to do such as by leaving the two be and just going after Falis, Link is succumbed to more attacks from the sides and/or behind, as these two new tigers will also go into the forest if not dealt with quickly. Once dealt with the two recently added tigers, Link can return his aim on Falis. The tiger has become more resiliant than before, and will not stand for most of Link's throws. If thrown to close to the forest, Falis will run back in. If thrown in the center of the stage, Falis will confront Link, but at a faster pace again, and when Falis is on his back, he will only stand for one strike to the stomach, only to perform a spinning claw strike, and if Link is too close to him, Link will recieve damage. However, after three or four strikes to the belly of the beast, Falis is defeated. When Defeated: Falis will let out one final, mighty roar, as he writhes in pain on the stage. He finally rolls onto his stomach and lying his head down on the ground. Link walks to the side of the tiger to make the final blow on the beast, knowing full well that it was still alive. However, when he lifted up his sword to plunge it into Falis, he heard a small meow of in the distance. Out from the bushes, a small tiger kitten popped out and ran over to the wounded Falis. The tiger baby began examining Falis' wounded body. As it was, another tiger kit came along followed by a female tiger as well. Obvioiusly, this was Falis' family. Seeing the kittens as well as their mother, Link lowered his blade. The Emblem on Falis' forehead fell off, and the armor went away, leaving a tiger who was injured badly. Link picked up the emblem, and placed it in his pack, leaving the tiger family at peace with their father still alive. Alternative: There is an alternate way, which is quicker but at the cost of hearts no matter what. Link could use the spear blade's special ability and slow down Falis' leap attack towards him. Link would be able to perform a much more effective parry, by ducking underneath Falis and slashing at his stomach while in mid-air. This would instantly send Falis into the forest, and when he leapt at Link once again, performing the special parry, would bring about the duplicate Falis', all the way up to Falis' defeat. Afterwards: The tigers retreated back to their original territory, and had become less hostile to the villagers. Link was granted access to the village anytime he liked, free food and a discount on their weapons that they sold. Also, a few people who had been studying on the tigers behavior have gone back to the Tiger's Den, to find Falis. In time to treat him back to health as well. Later on, Falis would become a massive ally for Link, fighting with him after he had been restored to full health. Author's Notes: At first I wanted Falis to be a human in the armor, given animalistic fighting skills, but I could not figure how that could work, and so an actual animal suited best for being a boss. I also made this armor to be a sort of weapon in a favorite anime series of mine, Buso Renkin, however it once again fit perfectly with this boss and so stayed with Falis. Other abilities of Karna's staff, but not all, are: Moving swiftly across open spaces not being stopped by obstacles such as trees and boulders, increased damage upon impact but light to use, a floating shield that deflects projectiles, and rings used as long distance boomerangs.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
MALIGNANT DEKU TREE
Wicked Forest Oppressor One of the many legends of Hyrule speaks of a great and benign spirit who guarded the Hylian forests. This spirit took the form of a great tree, towering above all others. It is said that it even had the ability to speak. This tree was known as the Deku Tree. History tells us that in those times all the forests were safe for people to wander through, only having to fear getting lost. However, at some point between the Hero of Time saving Hyrule from the evil king Ganondorf, and Zant’s reign over the land, the Deku Tree vanished. Many theories arose to explain this sudden disappearance. Some people claimed that Ganondorf had killed the Deku Tree. Others claimed that this was false, that the Deku tree had lived on in another form, but the Kokiri had turned against it and burned it to the ground. Still others claimed that Zant had destroyed it to stop it fighting back against the Twilight. Another theory was that such a tree had never existed, and that it was all a load of nonsense. However, no one had even got close to guessing the truth. When the Sages were forced to banish Ganondorf to the Twilight realm after a failed attempt to kill him, an exit from the land of darkness into the land of light was temporarily opened. This fatal oversight allowed one of the few remaining Dark Interlopers to escape. The twisted being kept to the shadows, flickering between places where it would remain hidden from the Goddesses. It knew that if they intervened, it would be cast back to the shadows from whence it came. Therefore, it needed to find a stronghold beyond the Goddesses’ powers. It had often been said that the forests were the only places in the land of Hyrule that the Goddesses did not have a strong hold over. In all other places, their word was law. However, on the very fringes of the Hyrule, the Deku Tree was the only being with any real authority. Unfortunately, this made him a perfect target for the Dark Interloper. After putting up a desperate struggle, the Deku Tree finally succumbed to the shadows. The Dark Interloper immediately set about its scheme to poison the forest. Fortunately, the Deku Tree’s powers were not as strong as the Interloper might have imagined, and the darkness’s progress was an incredibly slow one. So slow that by the time it had swallowed half the woods in Hyrule, the power of the Goddesses had already been bestowed upon a new child. The next hero had been born. Link, in his quest to reform the Triforce and save Hyrule, was forced to venture into what had once been the Lost Woods, but had recently been renamed “Deadwood” by the locals. It seemed that a piece of the Triforce had been bestowed upon the Deku Tree to protect, and Link had to find him. Deadwood Forest was a bleak landscape, with gnarled, dead trees and brambles covering the landscape. At times Link could still see the sky, but it was discoloured by a heavy fog that coated all the forest. From within the fog, the sky appeared to be the colour of parchment. There was no grass growing, and the ground was covered with dirt and mud, which impeded Link’s progress. As Link moved further into the woods, he got more nervous, and started seeing faces in the twisted trees. The only enemies Link encountered were Redeads, Stalfos, and Poes, and although the puzzles he had to overcome were difficult, he felt as if he were being forced into a trap. Impassable trees would suddenly move, offering Link a way forward; however, as soon as he had passed through they would suddenly move back into place, blocking his exit. Eventually, Link reached an area of open space with trees branching overhead and thick roots bursting out of the ground at odd angles. Behind Link, thick branches snaked into place, completely blocking his exit. Link spied a large tree at the other end of the clearing. Its broad trunk broke through the canopy of trees above and its red leaves were almost invisible through the thick branches. Its roots stretched out for a while before diving underground. Link wondered if those roots continued to stretch out to the very edges of Deadwood. Towards the base of the tree were two hollows that looked uncannily like eye sockets. Beneath this was a gap with jagged, teeth like edges above and below it. In Link’s mind, this was the tree’s mouth. All of a sudden, a root shaped uncannily like a hand burst from the ground, lifting Link up and turning him to face the tree. A small, glowing red light appeared in each of the hollows, making it look even more like the tree had a face. To Link’s surprise the tree suddenly spoke. It informed Link that even though it could instantly kill him if it wished, it would give Link a chance to beat it in battle. The hand places Link back on the ground, and an epic battle commences. Malignant Deku Tree Battle- Stage 1 In the first stage of the battle, a large amount of obstacles appear in the clearing. Roots and thorny bushes burst from the ground, creating a sort of maze blocking Link of from the Deku Tree. Link can slash through the thorns, but the roots are unbreakable. More “root hands” will appear from the floor, grabbing Link if he steps too close. They will then proceed to throw him in a random direction. This can either help or hinder Link, as it might throw him in the direction of the Deku Tree, or it might throw him back towards the exit. If Link is unlucky, he may land in a thorny bush, which will deal out damage on contact. As well as this, skeletons with nooses around their necks will randomly drop from the canopy above and hang motionlessly above the ground. If Link walks too close, they will pull him into a bear hug which will cause Link to lose half a heart. Also, the Deku Tree himself will attack at intervals of about half a minute. One of the Deku Tree’s attacks is a wave of fire that jets out from its “mouth”, burning away all obstacles in the clearing and harming Link. This attack is devastating if Link gets in the way, because not only does he lose health, he gets blown back to the opposite end of the clearing from the Deku Tree. Luckily, this attack is easily avoidable if Link allows one of the “hand roots” to grab him. If timed right, the root will lift Link off of the ground and out of the path of the fire. The root will then burn away, and Link will land back on the ground in a temporarily empty clearing. Unfortunately, the roots and thorns will grow back, but for a short while Link can run forth unimpeded. Even if he was blown back to the start of the room, he will have a brief period in which to gain back his lost progress. The Deku Tree can also emit a gust of wind that either sucks or blows Link into the thorns, causing further damage. Link can also use this attack to his advantage. If he is thrown by a “root hand” when the Deku Tree is sucking in wind, Link will be caught up in this gust and pulled up into the empty space between the maze and the Tree. Once there, the Tree’s mouth will suddenly shut to prevent Link enter it. Link will have to use the Clawshot to pull himself into one of the eye sockets. The eye socket is actually a little hollow in which the red orb is suspended. Link can slash at the red orb for a while before it explodes, knocking him back to the other end of the clearing. When he destroys the first “eye”, the trees around the clearing will burst into flames. These flames will increase in intensity when the second one is destroyed. Malignant Deku Tree Battle- Stage 2 When both “eyes” have been destroyed, a series of branches will suddenly burst out of the Deku Tree, creating a path to the top. Link will have to fight through the clearing once more and then use the Clawshot to climb up these branches. His path is impeded by a swarm of Poes, who will fly around Link in circles, occasionally dive-bombing him. Link will have to make sure he is on a branch when this happens, because otherwise he will be unable to slash at the Poe and will fall to the ground. Once Link completes the climb, he will be enshrouded by the leaves, standing at the point where the trunk of the tree breaks into branches on a round platform. Link must shoot down eight more Poes with his bow. When the Poes are dead, a trapdoor in the platform will open, and Link will fall through the inside of the tree, which is actually hollow. Link will land in a cylindrical room with dark, wooden walls, a dirt floor, and a giant wooden heart suspended in the middle. The heart will be surrounded by some kind of dark magic shield, and attached to the walls by a series of black tendrils. Link must use a variety of weapons to slash through these. Ones lower down the walls can be easily cut with Link’s sword, but higher ones will need to be shot with arrows. More Poes will appear to hinder Link. Once he has cut down all of the tendrils, the heart will fall to the floor and the shield will disappear. If Link shoots a fire arrow at it, it will burst into flame. Link will then be able to use a finishing move to shatter it completely. Upon doing this, Link will be rewarded with a Heart Container, and one of the walls, which is actually the Deku Tree’s mouth, will open. Link can then exit the room. Malignant Deku Tree- After the Battle Link walked calmly out of the mouth and away from the Deku Tree. Once he was halfway across the clearing, the tree burst violently into flame. Link watched for a moment, but then had to close his eyes to protect them from the heat. When he opened them again, he was shocked to discover that not only had the Deku Tree burned to the ground, but so had every other tree in at least the immediate vicinity. All he could see was piles of ash and dying flames. He felt a cool wind on his face, and observed as bits of ash lifted themselves off the pile sitting where the Deku Tree had been. Suddenly, the wind intensified, and the ash was blown into the air in a mini hurricane. It disappeared into the atmosphere, and in its place stood a small green shoot. Link walked over to it. As he watched, the shoot’s single leaf began to shake. All of a sudden, the shoot burst from the ground, bringing with it a small yet beautiful tree. This tree also had a face, but its features were much softer than that of the Malignant Deku Tree. For some reason, it filled Link’s heart with joy. Glowing green lights appeared in the eye sockets, and the tree began to move about, as if it were dancing. “I’m the next Deku Tree!” it claimed proudly. Link smiled. The Tree rewarded Link for saving it by giving him the piece of Triforce he needed. “You must continue on your quest to complete the Triforce, Link. Only then can Hyrule be saved. I will do my part too, when the time comes, but for now, I will begin the arduous task of regrowing the Lost Woods!” with these words, it began to shake and radiate a pale green light. A look of intense concentration covered its face. Small green orbs began to float off it towards the ash. Each one buried itself in a pile, and soon the air was thick with the green lights. With a blinding flash, the lights burst, each one leaving behind a tree. The forest was slowly returning to what it once had been. Still smiling, Link turned and left.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
THIS ENTRY IS OUTDATED AND HAS BEEN REPLACED BY A NEWER ENTRY
Magical Maestro of Matter Once Lurid Knox was a normal man, gentle, kind, and caring. But one day peace was shattered, the king's new advisor, Ganondorf, stole the throne. Life for Lurid had become hard; he was no longer able to support his family. So in the end he was forced to pledge his service to Ganondorf as one of his knights. And so Lurid's life changed drastically, he no longer had any time for his family, all his time was used up in training for Ganondorf's army. Then on the day of his final test, the Chief of Ganondorf's guards brought him into the deep dungeon of the castle into its dark dungeons. There bound in chains, was his family, the chief of the guards handed him an axe, he looked from the axe to his family, and then with one swift stroke he chopped of the chief guard's head. It was at that moment Knox fell to the ground and died, he had broken his pledge to Ganondorf and would now be forced to serve him for eternity. Ganondorf quickly dismissed this and it never occurred to him the value of having a ghost that was completely loyal to him, until one day... ...Many years later Ganondorf was once again vying for power in Hyrule, and Link's quest required him to collect three medallions. These medallions belonged to rich families across Hyrule, one of them -the medallion of matter- had been passed down through the Knox family. It was then Ganondorf remembered Lurid Knox, the man who centuries earlier broke his pledge to Ganondorf. So Ganondorf order Lurid to guard the Knox mansion, and he was forced to comply. And so one day Link entered the Knox mansion to end something started hundreds of years earlier. The dungeon: The dungeon is like a mansion; its puzzles involve the use of many illusions and other strange things. The item: The item for this dungeon is the Staff of Legacy, it is used to show things for what they really are, and can be used to manipulate certain things. It basically looks like a black wooden staff, with a smooth egg shaped crystal on the top. The way it's used is: you take out the staff. You can just aim the remote at something to see it, and then channel magic power into it by pressing and holding the button it is equipped to (the longer something is charged, the longer it stays visible). Or for manipulating things, you simply aim the remote at something and target it with Z (well you have it out more things will be targetable) and point the remote to one end of the screen, up or down to make it taller and skinnier, left or right to make it shorter and fatter. This item may seem a little to simple and un-useful, but it could be used for things such as: stretching a hole out so you can crawl through it, making a hole round so that enough light shines through to reflect off of your mirror shield, shortening pillars so you can stand on them, widening or making blocks taller so you can push them through a certain hole, etc. The Room: Is basically a basic room, four walls, a floor, and a ceiling. It has only one entrance and the rest of the walls have pictures on them. It has a fancy red wallpaper, gold trimming, and tile flooring. The Boss: The boss is a ghost of a man; he has a long gold-trimmed red robe. He has a gold helmet with a visor, and his hair under it is black, long, and messy. He has a medallion hanging from his neck, and wields a 10ft. long lance. He floats and the lower half of his body fades away, so that he has no legs. The Battle: When you walk into the room he is floating there facing the opposite wall, he slowly turns around A lance slowly appears in his hands, he pulls down his visor and the match begins. The battle is mainly consisted of stages with the boss not present some of the time. The first stage is pretty basic, one of the tiles rises up (or more a copy of one of the tiles) and turns into an orb, hit it back and forth until it hits him. After hit with the orb he will disappear and the floor will morph so that there is spiked poles sticking out, these will start spinning around the room. You have to find him with the staff of legacy and charge him up enough so you can shoot him with an arrow, after you hit him with enough arrows he will sink into the floor. For the third stage the room morphs into an orb, and fireball spinning things (like the things in the castles in Mario) will pop out of the floor. You have to find him, charge him up with the staff of legends, and run on top of him allowing you to press A to thrust the sword into him. After stabbing him enough times the room will form back into a square, and the paintings start coming off of the walls and turning into the person who's shown on them. Defeat each of the paintings (no real strategy to it) and Lurid will reappear. When he reapers a couple of the tiles on the floor will disappear and the tiles will start shuffling around the room, switching for tiles that are there. This time, well keeps trying to stab you, you have to stretch out some of the tiles so that there are no more holes (but if you don't do it fast enough they will revert to there normal form). after that he'll start floating close to the ground, and it will be an fairly normal fight, what you have to do is hit him with enough attacks (it's about as hard to hit him with attacks as it is to hit a darknut in TP, you'll know when you hit him enough 'cause he'll start glowing red), and then you have to get out the staff of legacy and stretch him out, but instead of him stretching out he will just slam into the floor, walls, or ceiling. After you do that enough times, he will collapse to the ground and you can run up to him and press A to finish him off. After stabbing him he will start glowing black and then explode, and then by the door of the room e will reappear with the rest of his family, he will walk over and hand you the medallion, and one of the kids will walk over and set down a heart container that he's holding. Then they will all fade into nothingness and you can go pick up the heart container. THIS ENTRY IS OUTDATED AND HAS BEEN REPLACED BY A NEWER ENTRY

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
Mad Psychs Tech He is not of this planet. In fact he is of a far and distant solar system. Red Delta was the codename given to him, he was never given a normal name like "Luke" or "Keith". The reason for this was that he was intended to be a powerful experiment, one that only required a codename. Created under the galaxy's greatest scientists, codename "Red Delta" came into being with the intention of being a super scientist, creating weapons of mass destruction and protecting the people. It did not go as planned, and Red Delta escaped almost immediately and teleported out of existence. Records say that the men and women in the laboratory were thrown aside and knocked out once the unyielding walls met their craniums. His appearance is of a normal man. He has hair at about mid-back level, and when viewed from behind resembles a delta. He wears a black laboratory suit that is tattered near the bottom. The dungeon would be like a corrupted forest. Withering trees with pipes through them, plants burned to cinders, and enemies resembling cyborgs (more machine than organic) putting in new pipes and wires. The room you fight him in appears to be a workstation. There are a few forges and rivers of fire off on the sides where chained slaves (Kokiri, Hylians, Gorons, etc.) are being forced to work under the supervision of larger constructs like the ones in the dungeon. The middle is a raised area with ten chains connecting it to the roof, which cannot be seen due to there being no light. This is Red Delta's workstation, which is currently being installed, and some larger pipes and wires are connected to the platforms with desks on the spots they come up. The item in the dungeon is a special mask. The mask allows the wearer to resist effects that are being put on the mind. Link uses this throughout the dungeon to help defeat the cyborgs, which seem to somehow slow him down when he does not have the mask. Stage 1: Upon entering the room, Link will see what was described above. As he reaches the top of the stairs leading to the platform, the platform will violently jerk up about fourty feet and the stairs will collapse. Ahead is a man with his back to Link fiddling with something. His hair seems to be in a style where the scalp is a river and it starts branching off once it reaches the neck. Link will be prompted to put on the mask (if he has not done so already) and will see that it's actually a trick, and Red Delta is standing in front of him. Red Delta smiles, grabs Link, and tosses him towards the workstation the illusion where Link believed he was. Red Delta reaches into his labcoat and pulls out four squares. He tosses them like Caltrops around Link, and they form an electric barrier around him. Red Delta will start firing electric bolts from his hand at Link. Link's only option is to dodge in the limited space he has. As the battle goes on, it becomes more and more clear that four of the chains holding up one side of the platform are rusted (thanks to the mask). While dodging the oncoming attacks from Red Delta, Link must fire bomb arrows at the chains to break them. They break with two each. Once four are destroyed, the Platform begins to tip. Stage 2 As the platform starts shifting to try and find balance, the cage holding Link will slide down. Red Delta, seeing this, fires small charges at the square things creating the cage. They will begin to hover slightly and fire at Link. One will get a shot off and send the mask flying down to the forges below. Without the mask, Link slowly gets dizzy. Red Delta will slow down his attacks now that all four squares will be firing at Link. At this point the controls become a little more difficult due to the dizziness. Link will have to run around and try to get the boxes to shoot Red Delta three times. Doing this will make him prone. Then he must get the boxes to shoot each other. Once two are destroyed, the other two will explode. Stage 3 With the explosions, two more chains break, causing the platform to tilt even more. Link must grab onto one of the destroyed chains and swing to safety. At this point the player will notice that the slaves and cyborgs have been fighting, and the slaves were winning. Once he reaches the bottom, a Hylian will run up to Link and give him his mask. Link turns around and sees the body fall into the lava below. At the same time the last of the Cyborgs are destroyed. They start cheering as Link puts on the mask again. This time, however, things happen faster. He notices that the slaves he saved are nothing more than statues that have limited animations and no speech. As he looks around, he is thrown across the room, and Red Delta comes flying out of the lava. His body is blackened and his hair is still red, but it is much brighter. Link gets up and has a final duel with the wicked creature. It uses electric attacks, but also incorporates its' psychic powers, causing rifts to trip the hero, throw him aside, and draw him in closer. Link must beat him down using the trusty sword and his head, for if he should drop the mask he will be unable to harm Red Delta. In the end Link will best him with his trusty sword, and Red Delta will be torn apart by the psychic power he can no longer contain.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
Grisixius Info. Grisixius was the ancient Sage of Shadows who created the Shadow Temple and the many traps and torture devices within. Soon after, he was stripped of his position as Sage of Shadows by the King of Hyrule for cruelty to both prisoners and citizens alike. Grisixius was then banished to the dark world as additional punishment. At the time of his imprisonment, the other sages all foresaw a telepathic prophecy: When the Hero of Time steps into the world of eternal shade, then Grisixius shall leech off of the Light World's energy and turn it too, into a world of shade. (Note that this game takes place AFTER ALttP and the Light World is dark, similar to that of the Twilight Realm). The dungeon is called Dark World's Penitentiary. The main item of the penitentiary is the Longshot. The penitentiary consists of one very large main room with several floating blocks over an abyss. There are a total of ten different branching pathways. Seven of the pathways lead you to prison cells for the Wise Men. Once you have freed the seven of them, you will be teleported back to the main room with them and they will grant you the longshot. The longshot is used in this dungeon for reaching up and hitting a target which reveals a large, floating trap door which leads to Grisixius. The other three branches lead to parts of the boss key. You can only get to them once you have the longshot. Grisixius is pretty small compared to other LoZ bosses. He is approximately 1.5 times the height of Link. He has pale gray skin rippling with huge muscles, bug mandibles for a mouth, black eyes with a red center, a bald head, tattered black clothes, and blood red wings (a little over the size of Link's head). The Battle Arena The battle arena is a large circle with spikes coming out from the walls. You can see several longshot targets hanging from the ceiling. There are also many large blood stains on the walls and floor that glow. There are four pots located around the room each containing one recovery heart. The Fight Once you fall down the trapdoor, you see Grisixius kneeling down, his arms and legs are chained to the floor. He looks up and says, "Are... You? Yes...". He gets up and says, "I humbly thank you with the wretchedness of my jet black heart from which sorrow, despair, and destruction flow. But now is not the time... Hero of Time... For nightfall has come for you and the foolish light dwellers. Can they not see that darkness is the true light through which everything comes forth? The light has blinded them. Allow me.......... to show you the vehemence of darkness!!!" With that his eyes glow a burning red. He floats a little, curling himself into a ball. He then extends his arms and legs at the same time and a huge explosion of dark fire erupts from him, breaking his chains. The fire then contracts back to him a little faster than it erupted from him. This dark fire cools, forming armor for him: a crimson helm with 3 pitch black spikes protruding from it, jet black boots with a singular spike coming out from the toe, onyx platemail with crimson streaks and spikes on the shoulders, and finally he has ebony leggings with a carmine spike jutting out from the knees. Three tendrils of darkness then coil around his right arm forming a sword. Due to all this armor Grisixius moves somewhat slowly. Attacks in this form: Hell Flame: He spews out a shadowy flame from his mouth that does 1/2 a heart every second Link is in it's path. Just dodge-roll, the shield does not block this attack. Slash: When Link is close enough Grisixius slashes at him very quickly with his arm-sword doing 1 heart damage. Swarm of Ravens: Grisixius leaps up, floats in midair, and screams a very low, loud scream and 7 fiery ravens fly out of his mouth 'cawwing'. This attack does 1/2 a heart for each raven that hits him. Each raven dies in three hits. Simply kill the ravens or dodge-roll several times quickly. This form is very aggressive so you must always keep your guard up. To defeat Grisixius in this form you must be near him and smash him with your hammer to get rid of the armor (all other weapons are useless against him in this form). Once all of the armor is removed, Grisixius glows red and new armor sprouts from his body. Remove the armor twice more to have him enter a new phase. Grisixius then leaps into the air. His body then stretches, transforming him into an ebony flying snake with a lion-like mane ablaze. Laser Vision: Grisixius twirls around while shooting lasers from both eyes. Each hit does 1 heart damage. Just raise your shield to block this attack. Snake Smash: Grisixius splits into 4 smaller snakes which hover in the air, all spinning around Link. They then all charge at him at the same time. If they all hit Link then the full version of Grisixius' snake form comes out of the ground right underneath Link. He then grabs Link in his mouth and bites down several times. Each small snake does 1/4 of a heart. If Link takes the full attack he loses 3 hearts. To dodge the snakes just run and roll away from them. Collapse: Grisixius smashes into the ceiling several times causing a ton of rocks to fall down. Each rock does 1/2 of a heart. To dodge just run around quickly. To defeat him in this form you must longshot one of the targets. When Grisixius flies underneath the targeted target, the 'A' button flashes on screen saying 'Pull'. If you pull, then the target crashes down on him and he is covered in rubble. Throw a bomb at the rubble covering him to hurt him. Repeat twice more to have Grisixius enter his final form. Grisixius then transforms back into his original form (the one in the description, without the armor) but he keeps his sword. He is very fast and he is much smarter in this form. He is also always hovering about an inch above the ground. Blinding Evil: Grisixius swirls around chuckling and everything suddenly turns black for about 30 seconds. It is impossible to see anything (or so the ancient Sage of Shadows thinks). The glowing blood gives off a little bit of light. While using this attack Grisixius becomes more aggressive and will attempt to attack you at least once. Eruption: Grisixius stabs his sword into the ground opening up a fissure of lava. The lava follows Link around for a bit. The only way to escape is to run around as fast as possible while making complicated movements. Each second the lava hits Link it does 1/4 a heart damage. Sword Combo: He rockets towards you and slash his sword 4 times in a complicated combo. Each hit does 1 a heart. Hell Flame: Works Exactly like the Hell Flame in his first phase. Black Orb: Grisixius raises his hands and summons a huge black orb. The orb shoots little orbs at you in quick successi0n. Each shot makes the orb shrink. Every time Link gets hit he takes 1 heart damage. Fire Face: Grisixius shrieks, and a blazing apparition of his face grows pretty large in size and shoots out from him towards Link. To dodge Link must roll several times to escape the path of destruction. This attack does 2 hearts damage. Death Combo: Grisixius raises his right arm and the arm-sword uncoils and he faces Link. He then shoots out a ton of super tiny darts in a 90 degree angle (45 degrees to the right and 45 degrees to the left of where he aimed the attack). If Link is hit he is thrown against the wall and is impaled on one of the spikes. The little darts bind him to the wall while Grisixius goes up to him. He then does the sword combo against Link which is now impossible to block. This combo does a total of 6 hearts! The only way to dodge is to run away IMMEDIATELY. As long as you are out of the range of the darts you are safe. This final form is like the second stage of a Darknut in TP, it will block your attacks but if you are aggressive enough you can land several hits on it. Either that or use the longshot to pull Grisixius towards you and you can get in several free attacks as if you were fighting a grounded Aeralfos. After you finally defeat Grisixius he flies up in the air (again) and screams, his head rocking in random directions. You can see spit flying from his mandibles. His body then turns pitch black and turns into a sphere. A huge wave of energy explodes from said sphere washing away the blood and spikes. The arena that was once black, now shines brightly. A Heart Container drops from the middle of the room and you see the TP depiction of the Sage of Shadows floating in midair. He smiles and says, "Thank you for freeing me from my corruption and foolishness. The power consumed me, insanity devoured me and I... Was transformed into that... that hellion. Now... I can head to the afterlife without fear. I humbly thank you and wish you the best of luck on your journey. Perhaps we shall see each other again. Farewell... Hero of Time." With that, Grisixius dissolves and then it flashes to the Light World. The darkness that covered the land before is now restored to the normal. The music for this boss fight is here |

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
Just the dungeon itself will be intense. It would be like the OoT Forest and Shadow Temples’ baby on steroids. There would be ReDeads and Stalfos and “Black Wizzobes,” a Lich looking thing. This is the first level, mind you. As you descend to the B7 floor, where Lamia is located (Yes, there are indeed eight floors.), things would get darker. The lights would be dimmed and further apart. ReDeads would be on fire. There would be flaming, black Aeralfos. The poes would be dressed like the great poes of TP, just a little shorter. Some POES would be on fire. (Coincidence? I think not!) You could not return to the above floors. You would continue until you stood at the boss door that looked exactly like any of the other doors in the dungeon- a simple door made of vertical wooden slats held together by iron with a simple doorknob on one side and only a knocker on the other. Upon entering, it becomes apparent that you are in a large, arena/torture chamber. Skeletons hang for the ceiling by their toes and there are a few here and there in the arena stands. You step forward into the middle of the arena, and a gate crashes down on all entrances. Lamia rises from black smoke on the floor in front of you and does a banshee wail in your face. He draws his two swords (a scimitar and a katana) and begins to fly around the room. Lamia was born hundreds of years ago. He became fascinated with the dark arts, a spell backfired, and he became the creature he is today. That is all that is known of his past, as this is all he remembers Lamia appears to be a floating cloak with hands, but a closer look reveals differently. His face is sullen and gray; his cheeks and eyes sunken. His eyes are completely white, and he has flowing white hair and ugly yellow teeth. Lamia’s hands don’t have much more that skin and bones. His attacks are as follows: - Slash (½ heart): He slashes one of his swords at you. Pretty generic. - Dual Slash (2 hearts): He slashes both of his swords across you in unison, dealing large damage. - Dead Breath (1 heart): He breathes his noxious death smell in your face, paralyzing you for two to three seconds. First things first: the dungeon’s main item is the Axe of the Dead, a giant axe used by the king of Hyrule in the war that precedes OoT. Don’t use the axe. Wait for the next dungeon. Instead, break out your trusty lantern, which can now be set on the ground and reflected by the mirror shield. Use the mirror shield to reflect on him, go up to him, and beat him with your lantern. Yes. Beat him. With the lantern. Go ahead. It’s fun. Anyway, after about three times, you can no longer set the lantern on the ground (he’s learned by then), and since you’re seven stories underground, there’s no chance of any light coming through the ceiling. So what do you do now? Set your arrows on fire with the lantern, hit him, and go beat him with your trusty lantern. Rinse, lather, repeat, and he’s dead... or is he? There, you beat him. You grab your heart container, fill the lantern, and warp to the first room. Wait, is the front door closed? And why are all the lights out? Suddenly, a single, dim light comes on and Lamia shrieks in your face. Again. You see his yellow tongue and green gums. Nasty. Quickly, still in the cutscene, you pull your lantern and break it over his head, at which point the lights return and the door opens. You’ve beaten the devil. The dungeons quest item as his body, flat on the floor, turns to ash. Congrats. |

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
(So you know, you get the Mirror Shield at the end of this temple, not half way through!)
Name: Legendary Armos Knight Description: A knight, made of stone. His height is 15 Link Spans from feet to head. His sword is 8 Link Spans from handle to blade tip. He has a giant pink crystal on his back spanning 4 times the size of link, and above that, a circular target for hookshotting. His face is a grey colour, with glowing green eyes and a grim smile. He has greay-plated armour, and has crescent moons on his shoulder plates. He is using steel gloves, and his platelegs are a dim grey with crescent moons on the knee pads. He is also using gigantic boots. History: A Hylian knight that was turned to stone by the evil monster, Twinrova. After that, Ganondorf came to him and granted him some of the ToP. Arena: A circular room with black and white tiled floor. There is several pillars around the outside of the arena. There is also a chest hanging from the roof, containing the Mirror Shield, and 2 doors, one on the left and vice versa. This is basically made from the TP : ToT Darknut Miniboss Room. Regular Attacks: As Kozer is one of Ganondorfs minions, the reason he is alive is to destroy Link, so he will jump-slash at you doing between 1.5 hearts. It can slash at you (Horrizontally) you for 1 heart worth of damage. Sometimes he will knock down a pillar, creating dust to cover the room, making it harder to see. Link's Methods: Option 1 - First, you will need to shoot him in the eyes (Both eyes) twice with any magic arrows, now, he should be frozen with his mouth open. At this point in time, you must chuck a bomb into his mouth, using the Boomerang (Multi-lock feature). When he swallows the bomb and it explodes, he will go white. Now, chuck another bomb in his mouth, using the boomerang. When you do this, he will start spinning around and jumping around the room. Now hit him with the boomerang to stun him for a short time, and then quickly hookshot onto the target to fall onto the crystal. Drop down to the platform below the crystal (It is just below it) and now jump slash. If you do it correctly, you should just hit the crystal, but now he will glow red for 1.5-2 seconds. While he is red, you must jump off the platform and start rolling away to take minimum damage. Now, after the time is up, he will explode and lose a piece of armour. Keep repeating this and he should be dead in no-time. Hit Points: 5 succesful go-throughs of method 1. Intro: The room dims when you first enter, and fills quickly with grey smog and debre. Then, you must roll into any pillar, and the room will start shaking. Then, there will be a crash and the smog clears, revealing Kozer, the Armos Knight. Spectacular Death Scene: Kozer starts glowing bright red and white lines start to shine out of him. Theres an explosion, leaving the whole room in ruins, and Kozer on the floor. When this happens, the mirror shield drops from the roof.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
^ A new post it is then.
This is my second boss submission, the first being Cursed Puppetmaster STALREX (I just HAD to put that in bolded letters, lol). Here we go... Liquid Crystal Spirit CRYSTERRA I just thought of this today, so its backstory is extremely weak... Backstory: Crysterra is the cursed spirit of the former owner of Snowpeak Mansion, Sir Christopher Terrantos (Chris-Terra, geddit?), long before Yeto and Yeta moved in. He was killed and his spirit was cursed because he would not give in to the demands of Twinrova, who wanted access to the area behind Terrantos' mansion (Snowpeak mansion), where he was mining a sort of magical crystal. Twinrova wanted access to this magical crystal and Terrantos refused, so, well, they killed him and cursed him with their black magic. Then Twinrova took all of the crystal from the mine, and eventually squandered their magic. In time, Terrantos' crystal mine is lost to nature, empty as it is. But the magic crystal with which Twinrova had cursed him, the last known piece of this magic crystal, still has some magic in it, and it is still inside Snowpeak Mansion. Link is sent to retrieve this piece of magical crystal by Zelda to help him combat Ganondorf. However, he is not exactly sure as to how he is to fight Ganondorf with the magic crystal… Description: Terrantos' cursed spirit takes the form of an opaque, blood-red bubble (not one of those skulls on fire which are famous within the Zelda series, just a bubble). Infact, he almost looks more like a floating ball of blood-red liquid than a bubble. However, this red bubble has the ability to infinitely spawn crystal spikes from within itself, and then to forcibly break most of that crystal to form any shape. This is Crysterra. This red bubble, has a diameter similar in length to the height of Link’s Hylian Shield. The battle contains four phases, each of which is dramatically different. Dungeon Item used to defeat boss The item used to defeat the boss is a slightly-modified version of the ball-and-chain, which takes more advantage of the Wii remote than TP’s version. Hold the B button, and Link twirls the ball-and-chain around beside him on his right side (like in TP, but turned 90 degrees towards Link’s right side). While being twirled, the ball-and-chain hurts any enemy that comes in contact with it. While holding the B button, swing the remote like you would for the sword to swing the ball-and-chain like a sword. In fact, this weapon is like a secondary sword. However, while the ball-and-chain is being twirled around, you cannot use your shield, you cannot sidestep, and you cannot backflip. Also, you move slightly slower than normal. But when you point the Wiimote at the TV screen, and use it as a pointer, you can use the ball-and-chain exactly like it was used in TP. Just point at your target and let go of B, and Link will through the ball on the end of the chain towards your target, before pulling it back into his arms. Start twirling it again by holding the B button. Stop twirling it by pressing A, or by pointing away from the screen and letting go of B. NOTE: For asthetic purposes, the ball on the end of this specific chain is about half as big as the ball-and-chain in TP. Umm… the battle? Link enters the boss room. The boss room is one big, hollow, hexagonal crystal with a flat floor and a ceiling shaped like the inside of a hexagonal pyramid. He only sees a red bubble, floating in the middle of the room, suspended by nothing. All of a sudden Link sees a crystal spike sprout out of the bubble, followed by another. More and more crystals sprout from the bubble, until the bubble is covered in crystal spikes. Link draws his sword as more crystal spikes grow and grow from the already-present crystal spikes. In under ten seconds, the bubble has gone from being barely twice as big as Link’s head, to a ball made of crystal spikes which is six or seven times as big as Link. … and the TV screen reads: Liquid Crystal Spirit CRYSTERRA Crysterra Phase 1: Spiked Ball Attacks: • Touching Link (crystal spikes, remember?) 2-3HeartDamage • Dropping itself on Link 4HeartDamage • Crystal Shrapnel (explained later) 1HeartDamage Quickly pull out your ball-and-chain as Crysterra rolls towards you. Smash him with the ball-and-chain so he’ll roll backwards into the wall, and some of the crystal spikes will break off due to the ball-and-chain. Sound familiar? See Blizzeta Phase 1, lol. The difference between Blizzeta phase 1 and Crysterra phase 1 is that, while Blizzeta moves in a 2D axis, Crysterra moves in a 3D axis. He’ll be bouncing off not only the walls, but also the floor and ceiling. Also, he isn’t affected by gravity, so when he’s left alone, he’ll float slowly around the room, like a bubble. He’s still really big, so he could still get you even though he’s moving really slowly. As you break off more of the crystal, he’ll get smaller (duh) and move faster. This is also a good way to show what the Wii can do concerning physics, as, depending on where you hit Crysterra in this form, you can add backspin, forward spin, side spin, etc. Note, if you happen to be really close to Crysterra when you smash him with your ball-and-chain, you’ll get damaged by some of the broken crystal shards (“crystal shrapnel” attack). After you have hit all of the crystal spikes off of Crysterra, Crysterra will split into two red bubbles (much like an amoeba), and Link will be forced to knock the crystal spikes off of two Crysterras. Effectively, there are now two as many giant balls of crystal spikes. After you have dealt with the spikes surrounding one of the bubbles, hit it a lot with your sword, and it will pop. However, when you knock the spikes off of the second bubble, it will not pop. Instead, it will initiate... Crysterra Phase 2: Crystal Magtail NOTE: A magtail is an enemy from the first dungeon of Wind Waker, those millipedes with one eye and a massive pincer-jaw (like a beetle). Crysterra’s red bubble forms the “eye” of the magtail. Here is a picture of the Magtail from Wind Waker. The form that Crysterra assumes is a giant, crystal version of this with no legs. It moves by flying around the battlefield much like Volvagia in OoT. Attacks: • Crystal “Icicle” (Crysterra makes a whole lot of Crystal “Icicles” fall from the ceiling) 1HeartDamage • An attempt to impale you on the spike at the end of its crystal tail. 3HeartDamage • The giant crystal magtail grips Link in its giant crystal pincer-jaw, shakes him and then drops him. 3-5HeartDamage (dependent on your control-stick capability). Crysterra once again turns itself into a gigantic ball of crystal spikes like before, but instead of attacking Link, he rises, rises… and then drops with massive impact, breaking most of the crystal spikes encasing its bubbly body. When the crystal dust clears, Link sees the crystal that has not broken has taken a shape. A red “eye” (Crysterra), a crystal pincer-jaw and a segmented tail made up of roughly-shaped crystals. It is a Crystal Magtail, and it is ten times as long as Link’s height. It starts flying around the battlefield. First, feel free to ball-and-chain the Magtail, to make its tail shorter and to make your life easier. The aim of this phase it to hit the flying Crystal Magtail’s “eye” (which so happens to be that red bubble you all love so much) with an arrow. The catch is, the Magtail’s long tail will be in the way of most of your shots, and lots of crystal icicles will keep falling from the crystal ceiling, so it is up to you whether you want to shorten his tail by ball-and-chaining it. Once you hit the eye with an arrow, the Magtail will face you and attempt to stab you with the spike on the end of its tail. Dodge it. Then, the Magtail will open wide its pincer-jaw (with the red bubble in the center) and charge towards you, attempting to grab you in its pincer-jaw to initiate the third attack in the above attack list. If it does manage to grab you, just follow the prompts on which way to smash the c-stick to escape with as little damage as possible. But what you really want to do, is hit the red bubble in the center with, well, anything, while it’s charging at you trying to grab you. Confused? Just think of how you stunned Bongo Bongo after you shot both of his hands. You hit his eye, correct? Well that’s exactly like this. When you hit the eye, the Crystal Magtail will stop in place and you need to slash the bubble with your sword a lot. Repeat the phase until… Crysterra Phase 3: Crystal Dormitory This phase could be the longest or the shortest depending on your skill. Crysterra will rise from the broken crystal exoskeleton of the Magtail and move backwards into the far wall. There, he will enter the crystal wall as if it was made of water. Coincidentally, the entire boss room is made of one piece of crystal. (Visually, it’s as if the boss room was surrounded by water on the outside, and there was a red bubble “swimming” in it. Remember, the boss room is made of crystal, so you can see Crysterra through the walls, floor and ceiling. Effectively, you’re fighting the boss room itself!!!) Attacks: • Crystal spike pillar (if Crysterra is inside the floor) 3HeartDamage • Crystal dart (if Crysterra is inside the walls) 2HeartDamage • Crystal “Icicle” (if Crysterra is inside the ceiling) 2HeartDamage. Crysterra is “swimming” inside the walls, floor and ceiling of the boss room. Which part of the boss room he is “swimming” in determines the attack he will use (see above). Your objective is to smash the bubble through the crystal surface with the ball-and-chain. This turns out to be hard because of the fast and erratic movements of Crysterra. If you don’t know where Crysterra is, watch his attacks, because they come directly from Crysterra. But be careful, because Crysterra will unleash one of these attacks every second. All you have to do is smash Crysterra through the crystal surface of the boss room three times… while dodging all of the attacks he throws at you and keeping track of his fast and erratic movements. When you hit the crystal, a crack will form, but it will disappear in time due to the presence of Crysterra. This is harder than it sounds, because Crysterra will break a part of the crystal wall open (like a window), revealing a blizzard outside of the Snowpeak Mansion, which in turn, makes the floor slippery because Crysterra has just let the cold ice in. After you smash Crysterra three times, Crysterra rises from inside the Crystal floor, as if it was made of water and begins to make itself into another gigantic ball of crystal spikes, like the beginning of Phase 1. The spike ball rises, rises... and drops with another massive impact, breaking most of the crystal encasing Crysterra and spreading crystal dust throughout the room... Crysterra Phase 4: Crystal Link As the dust settles, Link sees a humanoid shape, all made of crystal, about as tall as himself emerge... in fact, it is also as wide as him. Wait, what's that thing sticking out of that space between his shoulder and neck? It looks like a sword handle, a vaguely familiar sword handle... ... It is shaped like the Master Sword. Crysterra has created a crystal version of Link, Crysterra himself inhabiting the place where Link's heart would be. Crystal spikes form around the opening in the crystal wall Crysterra made earlier, effectively sealing the room from the blizzard outside. Attacks: • In this form, Crysterra has all of Link's sword and shield attacks, including TP's hidden skills. 2-4HeartDamage. • Crystal Link attempts the "finishing blow". 5HeartDamage • When Crystal Link attempts the finishing blow, as above, four small, sharp crystal pillars rise from the crystal floor, one by one, towards Link (real Link). 3HeartDamage Crystal Link moves faster than Real Link, but has less traction. Later in the battle, he'll learn to use this to his advantage. The trick to defeating Crystal Link is to wait until he attempts a Jump Attack or a Finishing Blow (he has Link's attacks, remember?). When he does so, jump to the side to dodge it (for Finishing Blow, and then jump attack him. Then, while he's open, slash Crysterra (Crystal Link's "heart") repeatedly with your sword. Sometimes, you can just backslice him to stun him. Eventually, he'll begin to block everything you throw at him (he has a crystal version of the Hylian Shield). When he does, just do a shield attack to open his guard. After you shield attack him, he'll attempt to hit Link's legs with a quick low-slash. Since you've already done a shield attack, you can initiate a helm-splitter to dodge it and hit him. Do so, and then, while he's open, repeatedly slash Crysterra with your sword. During this phase, if you start to feel a little threatened by Crystal Link, just swing your ball-and-chain at him, knocking him back (but not inflicting any damage unless you've already stunned him) Continue until Crystal Link smashes into pieces, and Crysterra falls to the floor... Boss fight ends here Crysterra rises from the floor, shudders angrily... and pops (he’s a bubble, remember?). The magical crystal and the heart container appear to have been inside the bubble the whole time, as they appear when Crysterra pops.

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
Dark Malignant Canine Backstory: Living as the only boy in a place full of woman was lonely for Ganondorf. Nothing much was interesting until a dog strayed into town. The dog was a normal dog but it was his first friend he begged his mother to let him keep the dog she agreed to let him do so. He loved the dog he kept him and named him Gan. Though getting food was tough Ganondorf took care of Gan like a brother. Then one day a mysterious man came to Gerudo Valley he called himself the King of Hyrule Ganondorf did not know much about Hyrule until he sat down with the King he found it a wondrous place. The King explained to him the three races of the land other than Hyrulians and Gerudos he spoke of the Gorons, Zoras, and the Kokiri. He explained that each carried a special stone that was a key to a new world. He also explained that there were temples throughout the Land and that there was one in his home called the Spirit Temple. The Sages kept the Temples protected and help the power the Master Sword. After the King left Ganondorf studied magic so he could become the Sage of Spirit. He worked diligently to master the art of magic. Until it all went horribly wrong Ganondorf was testing out a energy spell and it struck his friend and pet Gan. He then started onto the path of darkness he looked for any way to revive Gan. He then after agonizing years of searching he found within the Dark Codex a spell to revive Gan. When he revived him Gan had become Ganth through the arduous tasks of the afterlife. His revival came with the corruption of Ganondorf’s soul a corruption that could never be removed even through Rebirth. He turned Ganth into Ganthion through evil means as the final barrier for any who had cleansed all the temples. Hammer, Arrows, and the Mole Gauntlets While large and powerful Ganthion has many weaknesses such as 3 weak spots on his body. You have to first use the hammer to trigger a catapult so you can strike the weak spot on his back. You repeat this until he loses the weak spot and starts close combat at this point you must use the arrows to shoot him while he is trying to bite you. When you break the weak point on the head you must start to dig into the ground under him and strike his soft underbelly. Aftermath: When you kill Ganthion it frees his spirit in exchange he gives you his heart(heart container)as a gift of gratitude and says to forgive his master...

Re: Design a Boss | ZU Connection
I've already done this for the original "Submit your boss ideas" or whatever thread, but i'm going to improve on it.
Vengeful Captain )~SpiteBeard~( Background Not too long ago, just 90 years or so, there was a pirate captain, feared by civilians and pirates alike. He roamed the oceans, stealing from ships, towns, and monsters. It didn't matter to him. Treasure was treasure. Everywhere he went, he ruthlesssly killed, stole from, and crushed everyone and everything in his path. Everywhere he departed, he left his mark; two swords crossing blades behind an enraged skull, be it left on a tree, a house, or the ground. It was the sign on his flag as well. Anyone who saw this symbol floating above the waters knew their fate had been spelled out for them. Anyone who found it on a seemingly deserted island could tell what took place there One day, the pirate heard of a town on top of a great mountain, and how it guarded the secret to “Ultimate Terror.” He knew if he had that, the people would evacuate before his ship even landed and he wouldn't even have to work for his treasure! They would quake at the mention of his name! Life would be easy and he would have immense power over the innocents of the world! However, nobody knew where this mountain civilization was. He sailed for days, months, and, eventually, years, in search of the mountain, all to no avail. Years later, while searching, Ganondorf appeared in front of the pirate. He offered him a deal. Ganondorf would reveal the location of the mountain, if the pirate would serve him after life. To the captain, money and treasure overrode torture and slavery. He agreed gladly. The deal was done. Biggest mistake he ever made. He sailed straight for the location, quickly almost completely wiped out the population, and found the structure where the power was kept. This was what he had waited for for years. He was too excited to even think the treasure had a curse on it. Second biggest mistake he ever made. As he opened the door and saw the treasure chest, just sitting, unguarded, on the floor, he just as quickly made a mad dash for it. But as he opened the chest, he felt not power, nor did he see anything that could make him more intimidating than anyone in the world, rather, he experienced anguish rushing through him. Anguish and torture. It was a trap, set years ago, simply to kill anyone greedy enough to come and plunder the town's treasure. The peaceful townspeople had anticipated that anyone who was horrible enough to search for this incredibly well hidden island was probably a horrible plague on the world. He was no longer alive, but not dead either. He was… somewhere in between. Just then, Ganondorf appeared before him. The captain knew what he wanted. The pirate argued that he wasn’t his slave because he wasn’t in the afterlife. But Ganondorf, of course, had a loophole. He had said “after life.” Not “in the afterlife.” He was trapped in his own bargain. Ganon erased his true name from all minds—even I don’t know it—and he is now known as SpiteBeard. Literally a skeleton of his former self. All that remain are his bones, outfit, and weapons. SpiteBeard, when he was alive, unknowingly had a sacred sword fragment in his treasure hoard. Ganondorf forced him to guard that part of his treasure that would allow the fabled hero of time to defeat him. he was forced to remain in an underwater cove near the remains of his ship, sunk long ago, and guard it until this hero showed up. But SpiteBeard is filled with rage and vengeance for the dark king. He desperately wants to move on, but can’t, because he’s tethered to the living world serving Ganondorf. Every day, The same horrid pain surges through his skeletized body. SpiteBeard Desperately wants to move on to the afterlife, but can't. he is tethered to serving Ganondorf until he either succeeds... or fails his duty. Intro & Item Link has been searching for a part of the sacred sword that could destroy Ganon and finds that it is in the Cove of Hyspiti, an underwater temple from centuries ago. The items he finds in here are the Pegasus boots, which not only allow him to run over water, but run up certain walls as well, using air-tight undersides. He can even stay on the ceiling for a limited time. If he lets go of the ceiling and attacks in mid-air, he does a downward sword slam (used earlier to destroy flimsy floors). Onto the battle intro. As Link walks into the room, a couple of bones and tattered clothes lay about. Link does his standard, “walk slowly, look about” thing, when, all of a sudden, the bones and clothes glow an eerie purplish glow. As they rise, more bones come from the water below, and they form the terrifying shape of an unusually large skeleton. But... it seems more spectral than skeletal. His tattered pirate clothes wrap around him and a captain's cap, adorned with his symbol, drops on his head. His empty eye sockets become filled with dark blue orbs of light. He then tilts back his head- ...er, skull, clenches his fists and roars which results in him becoming enveloped in a purplish flame, representing his feeling of vengeance towards the world and more so, Ganondorf. A fast-paced but somewhat dark nautical tune plays. They cross sights, and as Link unsheathes his sword for battle, two scimitar swords rise from the water and fly into SpiteBeard's hands. They point at each other with the tips of their blades in challenge. The battle begins! Arena There is a fair amount of light, but it's more because of the light gray walls and the two torches' dim light reflecting off the water in the room than the light coming in. A large, square platform is suspended over a large body of water. There are some narrow walkways on the edges leading to the special walls that allow you to run up them with the Pegasus Boots. These will come in handy later. There is also a waterfall coming from the back of the room. Battle Phase 1: SpiteBeard's Spirit Phase 1: Attacks: Sword swipe (1/2 heart): several versions, all using his swords in a simple attack and taking ½ heart Flame eruption (1/2 heart x5): 5 pillars of purple flame erupt wherever you may be standing Contact (1/2 heart): you can’t attack or touch the boss because he’s enveloped in purple fire, which--obviously--hurts Flame blast (1 heart): SpiteBeard shoots a continuous stream of purple fire from his sword Fireball (1/2 heart): a small ball of purple flame erupts from his sword Sword plunge (2 hearts,Critical point): a deadly attack where SpiteBeard plunges his swords directly on top of you--only activated when you get close enough, he stops attacking if you go away. Strategy: Stay on your toes to avoid most of his attacks, but be careful, as they’re all quite quick. To avoid the fastest ones, such as fireball, use the Pegasus Boots or simply roll in time. First of all, get close enough to trigger sword plunge. The only way to avoid this one is the boots, but you have to time it right. It's not too hard--you should see it when he's about to plunge; His hands will start shaking. After avoiding it, the swords will get stuck in the ground. When you do avoid it, lay a bomb near his feet, or else he will remove his swords. It will stun him for about 30 seconds. Quickly as possible, run up the special walls and onto the ceiling and then position yourself directly above him. Use the downward slam on him to knock him into the water fall at the back of the room, extinguishing his flames. I think you know what to do. Slash him about 10 times. Repeat thrice or more, depending on how much you get to attack him each round (note: he gets faster each round). (CutScene) SpiteBeard attempts to make a last ditch effort to kill link, but, as he walks towards him, his legs fall apart. He resorts to crawling, and his midsection falls apart. Finally, his arms fall apart and his head rolls towards link, but the fire in his eyes dies out and he lands right next to Link’s boots. The water fall stops flowing, revealing the exit. As Link tries to make for the now open door, it closes in front of him. He turns around. The music swells gradually and SpiteBeard’s skull gets enveloped in the flame and rises in the air. His eyes light up again. His swords begin floating around his skull. The rising musical score reaches a climax and the next part of the battle begins. Phase 2: SpiteBeard's Vengeance Phase 2: Attacks: All the same fire based attacks as above, as well as these. Sword thrust (2 hearts): both swords fly towards link in a spiraling attack. Avoid with the Pegasus boots or roll under them Flying tackle (3/4 heart): SpiteBeard’s skull tackles link. Spite tornado (1 heart, lasts ten seconds, critical point): The boss spirals around the room in a devastating tornado of purple flame Strategy: like the first phase, stay on your toes and use the Pegasus boots often. The sword thrust move is the hardest to dodge. You can avoid it by using the boots or rolling under it, however, it's less likely you'll take damage if you roll under it. if you shoot an arrows or two at him, it will irritate him into using Spite tornado. Then use your boots to rush PAST him, not into him. Be sure you watch how he spins, because if he's spinning clockwise, you have to run past his right side, and vice versa as well. This will change his tornado's direction and make him move faster. Repeat the same strategy three times to send him spiraling into the water. He’ll resurface, fire extinguished, near the edge of the platform. Attack him ten times with the sword. Rinse and repeat roughly three times(depending on how many times you hit him each round) to defeat him for real. NOTE: as with Phase 1, he'll change a little each round, this time just in frequency of sword thrust and flame eruption. Fantastic Death Sequence SpiteBeard’s fire goes out and his swords fall down. His eyes' flames die down and his skull crashes to the ground. The same purple light from the beginning surrounds his skull and lifts him, spinning, into the air. Just before the skull disappears, it looks at you, as if to say “thank you,” but the look has also got something of an angry glare to it. A fantastic glow emerges from him and he disappears. Where he once was, a pirate's hat drops down, and a heart container appears. Link goes through the finally open door and claims his sword fragment. __________________________________________________ ___ that's it. hope it's satisfactory.
