How would you feel about a TP sequel on the DSi?

I'm just wondering. How would you think it'd be.
It doesn't have to be Cel-Shaded.

It can be a bit realistic like Twilight Princess. I personally wouldn't want it.
I'd rather have Zelda Wii to be a Twilight Princess sequel than that.

Re: How would you feel about a TP sequel on the DSi?

First of all, it shouldn't be exclusive to the DSi.

Secondly, no. I don't want a TP sequel. Zelda is stagnating, and right now it desperately needs new concepts, ideas, and innovation, not a sequel to a game that did none of that.

1. No TP sequel.
2. No console game should sequelize on a handheld.
3. OoT had a sequel, and look how that turned out.

Re: How would you feel about a TP sequel on the DSi?

I don't think any sequel to Twilight Princess should be on the DS. The DS just doesn't have the graphics capabilities to display a game as rich in detail as the original game, and it would be disappointing if the sequel had to look less beautiful as a result.

Not really, and no sequels please. TP was a boring game that brought nothing new, not that it was an oot clone, it just brought nothing new.

I think the graphics would only work well if the more detailed objects used 2D sprites... oh, wait.

Re: How would you feel about a TP sequel on the DSi?

No sequels. Especially a TP sequel. As far as the DSi goes, though... I wouldn't mind it if another Zelda game (aside from ST) ended up on a handheld. Phantom Hourglass was amazing and fresh, yet there were bits and pieces of older games in it (turtles, hammer, fairy, Wind Fish-esque character, the whole dream world thing, etc).

But still, I do want a Wii title...

Re: How would you feel about a TP sequel on the DSi?

Every major Zelda deserves a sequel...don't give me that crap. Eiji said that realistic graphics don't work on the DS, they just look messy. So no...we don't need 2 Zeldas coming out on DSi.

Re: How would you feel about a TP sequel on the DSi?

I don't understand why you make the DSi distinction, instead of just saying "on the DS". Would it make use of the camera? The SD slot?

Anyways, Twilight Princess could use a sequel. The way I see it, making a direct sequel is going to make them feel obligated to change it more than if they were making a new individual entry. But the DS is totally not the platform for TP's art style unless it were a side-scroller like Adventure of Link (and it seems like I'm the only one who wants a side-scrolling Zelda revival).

I think that the sequel (if there is one) is probably going to be on the Wii. When has there not been a sequel on console Zeldas besides ALTTP?

Majora's Mask is considered to be an amazing, breathtaking game regardless of reviewer. Many place it under OOT, but every game ever is placed under it. It's considered across the board to be a fantastic game, and to many hardcore Zelda fans, the best in the series, or even of all time. (That's what I think, anyway)

So...sequels aren't always a terrible thing.

That's like saying: "There was another Final Fantasy after VI, and just look how that turned out." Personally, I don't like FFVII, but I understand that the mainsteam busts nuts over that game, so I would never say that. It just doesn't make sense to make such a statement when only a minority will agree with you.

Instead, you could have said "OoT got a sequel, and I thought that was a disaster." It's a more personal statement, and it will upset less people.

Re: How would you feel about a TP sequel on the DSi?

The way I see it is this. OoT was an aLttP carbon copy, and MM was breathtakingly original. TP was an OoT carbon copy, and TP2 will be (hopefully) breathtakingly original, simply because Nintendo is much more keen to trial out new ideas in the sequels. So yeah, give TP a sequel.

Re: How would you feel about a TP sequel on the DSi?

I would certainly like to see sequels to Zelda games, but not necessarily to TP. I'd rather keep TP as a one time thing, simply because there were too many mistakes with it. They should just start with something original. But in my opinion, we'll never ever see a Link that even rivals The Hero of Time if we never get a sequel. I've been waiting for a Link that carries as much of an impact or emotional connection as OOT/MM Link, and we've never gotten one. Making a second adventure for the next Link would make it possible to explore his character more, just as MM did. I don't think I'll ever feel as connected to any Link or his adventure until I can see more.

ZeldaUniverse was flooded with threads about which one is better, and from what I can see, MM threads over rule OoT threads by a long shot. There's more discussion about MM than OoT.

The sequel is washing away the original.

When I said "In your opinion", I was saying that I didn't like MM very much, and I didn't expect you to agree.
I was going to come back and edit more into that post, but I had to leave before I got the chance.
