Re: TWW ending: Can Ganon return?

I think it's highly unlikely that someone would be able to pull out the Master Sword, since it only allows the one chosen by the gods to wield it. So unless Link is retarded enough to pull it back out himself, i don't think Ganondorf is gonna return

And even so....

*returns to normal after the sword got pulled out*
"OMFG, there's a hole in my head!"
*dies of Master Sword wound*

Re: TWW ending: Can Ganon return?

Twilight Princess is in the other timeline, it has no connection whatsoever to Windwaker. (and it's the Windwaker Ganondorf we're discussing here )

Re: TWW ending: Can Ganon return?

Ganondorf "turning to stone" was a way to depict the death of a human character in an E-rated game without having the game receive a more mature rating. Note that Phantom Hourglass's intro shows something more evocative of TP's death than him turning to stone.

And piercing someone's head with a sword, pretty much all the way down to the hilt, isn't evocative?

I personally think that Ganondorf is dead, but Ganon still lives on.

Re: TWW ending: Can Ganon return?

Gannons gonna be really pissed if he gets woken up a bazillion years later when the ocean is gone. For one theres gonna be alot of silt and other sediment around him, so its probably gonna be covering most of his tower. If it takes as long as it would naturally its gonna be a very different world.

He has come back from death before, trapping seems the best option cuz it keeps him harmless for eons.
That gives him a rare chance to lepfrog through time.

Why does it make no sense. It seems to me that Ganondorf is but a mere incarnation of the larger being that is Ganon.

unless someone revives him, that particular Ganon is dead for good. he got stabbed in the head. But there can always be a new Ganon.

Last time i checked, Ganon and Ganondorf are the same being. Ganondorf being the humanoid form, Ganon being the boar-like demon form.

They may be two seperate forms, but they were always the same being.

Re: TWW ending: Can Ganon return?

Even though Ganon came first in the games, Ganon would be derived from Ganondorf, and not vice-versa. I honestly wish they would stick with Ganondorf instead of Ganon, because, let's face it. Ganon has NO personality, and it's pretty much impossible to give him one. Even if they made him into a speaking entity, it'd still feel entirely more shallow and ridiculous. I'd rather see Ganondorf remain as the man, the King of Evil. While Ganon isn't bad, I'd like to see him remain as he was in say, Ocarina of Time, a beast that is the last physical manifestation of his last power before he sees defeat. This was kind of achieved in Twilight Princess, but not really, because Ganon just seemed like an excuse to have a Wolf part in the final battle.

Actually come to think of it. After centuries of sediment building up around him while the ocean disappears Ganon is going to be way underground. I would imagine any mystic or anyone attuned to powerful magic is gonna sense him.

I would imagine any responsible mage would build a temple of imprisonment over Ganons resting place to help keep him trapped there.

Re: TWW ending: Can Ganon return?

Didn't Aonuma say in an interview that Ganondorf died and wasn't exactly 'sealed' in stone?

I don't think he'll be coming back.

[QUOTE=maian;2766563]The Master Sword has always acted as a sort of seal throughout the Zelda games. It was the gateway to the Sacred Realm in OOT, and kept Hyrule frozen in WW, and I imagine it's doing just the same for Ganondorf. He has the bloody Triforce of Power. QUOTE]

errm in TWW didnt all 3 lose there triforces as it was join into one and the king made the wish to flood hyrule for ever?

Re: TWW ending: Can Ganon return?

That's true, but maybe the effects of the triforce will last on all of them, they'll find a way to bring him back, if not they'll just make alternate timeline and/or prequels.

He should, by that logic, be brain-damaged from Ocarina of Time.
Or does it not count when he's in pig-form?
