Zelda Party Games

Well, after playing Mario Kart Double Dash and various Mario Parties lately, I've realized how cool it'd be if the same types of games could be made for the Zelda series. I mean I know the first Four Swords is kinda like that, Tetra's Trackers is coming out, and there's been many mini-games in the Zelda games, but I think there should be games dedicated to them! Just imagine a Zelda rip-off of Mario Party! Have a bunch of boards from the Zelda lands, throw in the famous Zelda characters, have the items from the Zelda games, play tons of games that deal with the Zelda series and just everything else! It'd be awesome!!!

Then just imagine a Zelda rip-off of Mario Kart! I think that'd be possibly better than the Zelda Party game! There could be raceways from certain areas of the Zelda lands, musics and tunes from the games, battle items for the racing from those of the games, and especially monsters and animals from the Zelda games to race on!

What do you guys think of this all!?

I think all these party games are getting a little old... it was fun when Mario Party 1 came out... then the Mario Kart franchise... then Crash Bandicoot threw their hat into the kart and party business... and so many ripoffs...

I think the Zelda franchise should be left to action/fighting genre...if anything, make a Zelda fighting game, something like Street Fighter or Soul Caliber... just fighting matches between strictly Zelda characters... like Impa v. Zelda, or Link v. Ruto...

I think it is a horrible idea. It would ruin the Zelda series horribly. It's easy to do with Mario, because Mario is a platformer, and can easily be converted to MK: DD!! or Mario Party. Link would be ruined. There wouldn't be enough characters, either.

I agree. Zelda games are for gameplay and story. There is no point of a bunch of rip-offs. And party games are boring anyways. Now I am not one of those whiney fanboys, but still I hate the idea. I wouldn't mind a Zelda RPG though.

The Zelda Party idea is another story, but I could do it! :p

Hyrule Castle (Maybe you could alternate between the one you see as child Link (Happy, Normal) and than you could see it as Adult Like (Dark, Scary)
Graveyard(Underground in all the caverns and stuff)

I've written down a bunch of ideas for certain aspects for the Zelda Racing game. I wanna have 20 characters, a bunch of rides *no clue how many* and 20 or 24 courses. Here's my lists

Four Swords Adventures seems pretty party game-ish to me, and it looks fun enough.

One of my quotes:
"If you think more then needed, then do not throw away your ideas, but hold them away and use them later"

I think it's a great idea to make a Zelda Racing Game. if you are an amateur then you could use the game to explore some land and see solutions to your problems

This is off-topic, but I feel the need to point out an error in your signature, Fllying Dutchman. System of a Down did not make that Zelda song, it was Rabbit Joint. You can get the song from Overclocked ReMix, as well as read the disclaimer that Rabbit Joint did indeed make the song.

Back on-topic, I don't like the idea of a Zelda racing game, or any Zelda game that distances itself from the exploration and RPG elements just spells disaster. At least Four Swords Adventures sticks to what makes Zelda games great, and simply re-tools them to accomodate multiple players.

Maybe I should just give up on this. I have 2 people who like it and I still need help with it, there's no way I could do this on my own...

i can only see a zelda racing game as a GBA game, would it work well on the gamecube?

A Zelda racing game would never hold on its own, but I think some sort of mini-game would work all right. In fact, I think there is a horse racing mini-game included in Four Swords Adventures.

That is darn good idea!!! Although, you should throw Tetra and Aryll out.

Okay. I hope this is enough for you. Lets try to make this into a real game by trying to convince Nintendo somehow.

Mind-boggling problems and dungeons are what I like about Zelda...I think that Mario can keep his little go-karts and parties. Besides, real-life go-karting is much more fun. And also, who needs a solely zelda 'party' game? I think SCII and SSBM are enough fun that we don't need to make a completely zelda one (plus, what can beat pummeling Kirby as Link?)

I think some of you are mis-understanding this concept. It is not about racing with cars or go-karts, it is about racing with things that would be in the zelda world. And this is something that could lighten up the series, even as just a fan game for one of two sites. People on Zelda Domain like it, and the webmaster there is willing to help me. I mean the series is good, but it's too serious. It needs a light-hearted game that doesn't stress a player out with monster fights and insane puzzels.

Okay, this is great. I have a few people who like this. Now listen carefully. I'm already making this game exclusively *sp?* for Zelda Domain, but I would like to have this for ZU too. If I talk to Anakin, I'd like to try and get it on the site, and give ZU another special, one-of-a-kidn aspect taht no other Zelda site has *besides ZD of course* But if I wish to do that, I must have volunteers from Zu to help me with this. If you'd like to assisst in making this *you'll gte as much credit as me* I'll gratefully appreciate it and you'll get the job.

Hmmm....If you're gonna have Nayru's Love then Din's Fire should be included too. The Potions are also questionable since hearts would also do the trick, or are we planning a "Magic Meter" in this? Or suppose the potions could build up the Magic Meter for a powered up item. I dunno, but these are just a couple suggestions...

The potions will be used as temporary boosts in certain aspects of your ride. There'll be speed, strength turning yadda yadda yadda. And I might use Din's Fire still, but it's a bit questionable. And no there will be no hearts or magic meter.
