Re: NEW ZELDA: LoZ : Spirit Tracks (Tentative title)
The game would be cool if the train could be upgraded. I enjoyed switching around parts of the ship in Phantom Hourglass.

Re: NEW ZELDA: LoZ : Spirit Tracks (Tentative title)
I've thought about it for awhile now. And I just don't see myself getting too excited for this Zelda. Yeah, I'll probably play it anyway. But it seems very much a recycled PH. The train, on the exterior is different. But it's essentially the boat without an ocean. The dungeon(s) seem to just be exactly replicating the models used for the ocean king temple in PH and so that is just rehashed. The "control a phantom" thing is cool. But I can't see it being THAT different that a whole game could revolve around it.
For the most part this looks like PH with a train. And trains themselves I could see in the Zelda world. But Link being a conductor of all things? I'm OPEN to change. I thought Wind Waker might be kind of lame when it was about to come out, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. But the whole Link in a boat on the high seas is a much more compelling change than from boat to train. I mean, it was supposed to take place hundreds or thousands of years after OOT so obviously technology or whatever has changed. THe land was flooded which gave a good reason for the rise of ship travel. It still seems very adventerous. But trains? That doesn't, in my mind, seem as adventerous as the high seas or especially the medieval theme of most Zeldas with Link on a horse. Most of my friends think it's a pretty lame concept, just a gimmick really. I'm sure it won't be a bad game. I haven't really played a BAD Zelda yet. But I can't see it being great either. I'm going to give it a chance, obviously. But that's just how I feel about it right now. It's just difficult to imagine trains with a hero running around with a sword. What he hops off the train and starts slashing at enemies with a sword? It kind of seems, out of place doesn't it?

I thought FF7 had a pretty cool intro, myself. But to each his own.

I've never played FF7. But from what I gather about the Final Fantasy series. It's not set up like the Zelda series. FF is not Zelda. They aren't teh same kinds of games. And their worlds are different. I would assume it would make more sense in FF.

Re: NEW ZELDA: LoZ : Spirit Tracks (Tentative title)
I dont really like the idea of spirit tracks because of the train but I mean it could be something new, whats with all the ds versions all about phantoms and stuff I wanted to fight gannon...

1- What do you mean you don't like the train because it could be something new? That doesn't seem to make sense 2- There is only one DS Zelda besides Phantom Hourglass so what on earth do you mean "whats with all the ds versions..."? 3- Do you even know who the villain will be in this? Phantom Hourglass, despite its name, wasn't even "all about" the phantoms anyway and in Spirit Tracks, the only instance of phantoms we see is the one you control. We have no idea who the villain is and it could be Ganon for all we know. Though it would better if it wasn't, he isn't exactly being used well lately and we could do with a new villain that stands out like Vaati |

Re: NEW ZELDA: LoZ : Spirit Tracks (Tentative title)
Although I do have hope for this game, Link had lots of transportations in the other Zelda games.
I mean really... He rode in ships, boats, horses, mine carts and so on... Next thing you'll know is he'll be riding sports cars in L.A. But I have looked at the trailer of this game and I think it might just be another great Zelda game. Who knows...

If Hyrule were a real place, Nintendo obviously wouldn't add in every single element of it. I mean look at the map for Hyrule in each Zelda game, its vastly different each time. There is no moving mountains or anything, Nintendo are merely placing down these locations and including or excluding certain ones depending on whether they fit the story or not. So there can be already existing Zelda games in the timeline after ST |

The trains could all get destroyed. I really don't think the fact that they have trains will drastically alter the timeline. I will get this Zelda and enjoy, this i'm sure of because PH was fun and this game looks fun too. Also the music that plays during the trailer is awesome!

Re: NEW ZELDA: LoZ : Spirit Tracks (Tentative title)
Doesn't anyone understand that the train is going to work in the exact same way as the boat in Phantom Hourglass? You know, extra pieces are to make your train look better? Get a certain number of pieces from the same set and you get more hearts for your train?
The speed will be the same from the intro to the ending sequence.

Look at Hyrule in any of the Zelda games, you don't really believe that if Hyrule was a real place it would actually be that size with everything you see being exactly the same and nothing more? |

I came up with two ideas: Maybe their called spirit tracks because during the game, Link gets some kind of item/device that lets Link draw the tracks on the touch screen and they magically appear on the over world and disappear when Link draws new tracks. Or you simply select the location you want to get to and the train gets their in the shortest way possible using the already made tracks on the over world. I like the first idea better.

I'm pretty sure they just meant that you could speed up, slow down, and come to a stop with the touch screen control.
