So true. Everybody just has to accept that there WILL be complaints, because of course you can't have everything. There will be some parts of the game that in all likelihood, people will complain about. It's human nature...we're rarely satisfied with what we have. I voiced my complaint about the train usage because, well, I didn't like that aspect (or at least am not used to it yet) as well as what Darius Andreas (I think) said about the "unspoken rules of fantasy". I very much enjoyed the whole medieval, yet fantastical feel of OoT. I gotta admit that I probably don't like MM as much partly because of its more developed town...etc. So inevitably, we argue.

^ judging by the trailer it looks like there'll be a few villages, but free-roaming... not so much.

If you really think about it, there really wasn't a lot of free roaming in PH either. Ok, sure the sense of being on a train track makes the game feel a little bit limited, however if you take all the islands and made lines between all of them, you'd find something that would look like train tracks. Yes I'm aware that you're able to draw your own route where ever you'd like to go in PH, but if you just take the essentials (like going through a speed-run), then you'll find yourself traveling on the same monotonous routes over and over again.

Some predictions (and hopes) for the game?
-There will be a Coal Mine sort of dungeon (this will be the "earth elemental" dungeon) where there will be a whole lot of Coal Mine carts to ride on...which is something Link has gotten used to in OoX & tMC.

-Salvatore will return in another Canon-related/targeting mini-game. Why? Well not only has he been in tWW & PH (all games involving canons...), but also in PH his mini-game involved the ship to go on a pre-destined route throughout the game, and since ST will have a train, I can see the similarity in there. What I could expect in a Salvatore game? Imagine the same game as in PH however you must also hit alternating targets in order to change tracks (as in left or right).

-There will be some sort of mail/package delivery sidequest. Hey, if there was one in PH (with Jolene & Joanne), I think it would be a smart bet there will be another in this game aswell.

-With the exception of FS (because I haven't played the game, so I don't know all the facts), it seems that a new race has been introduced in every major Zelda game since OoX, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's going to be a new race introduced in this one.

-The three ship boss fights in PH were pretty fun (and unexpected, which is something I love in any game, it keeps any player on his/her toes), so I wouldn't mind a few train-related battles.

-New Sword? Well the way I see it, the Hero of Winds has had experience with the Master Sword, and the Phantom Sword, and with this new game coming along, he could have a Spirit Sword?

-One more time-dungeon. Why? Well maybe it won't be the exact same set-up as before, but Link still posesses the empty hourglass from PH. Maybe that hourglass will play a role in this game aswell.

-BGS

could this be direct sequel of PH? somehow?
just random thought :\
judging from the ending of PH, it seems that he could still face another problem somehow

Re: NEW ZELDA: LoZ : Spirit Tracks (Tentative title)

It looks like an unusual concept, but i'll accept new technology in Zelda as long as it's not anything like cars or (fast, modern-style) guns.

Pretty much my only complaint is the graphics.....i'm sort of hoping that the trailer was just a concept-video, and that they might touch up on the graphics a bit before releasing.

This is sorta a weak argument, but considering the King asked Tetra & Link to make a new Hyrule and since Zelda is wearing the exact same dress as she did in tWW, I think this is still the Hero of Winds (plus the same graphics. I mean, even FS/FSA Zelda had a different dress)

If this is a different Link & Zelda, (I'd be surprised) but it must be the next generation right after the Hero of Winds saga.

Come on, seriously! How in **** can it be same Zelda and Link. The outfit doesn't say anything about the generations (Tetra doesn't even want to be called Zelda). And how on earth could the hero of wind turn into a conductor.

Re: NEW ZELDA: LoZ : Spirit Tracks (Tentative title)

I'm inclined to believe that this takes years and years (100+ years, maybe?) after Tetra and Link discovered the new Hyrule; however, I do NOT believe that the Link and Zelda we see in the trailer are the same Link and Zelda from TWW. The one thing that throws me off is...why is Link kneeling in front of Zelda? They were good friends both in TWW and PH, right? It...just doesn't fit.

Well, I guess Link is just trying to be cordial and polite by kneeling in front of the princess, even though they are good friends and all.

Arrrgh, I can't wait until they tell us if they're the same characters from PH or not. :\

^I'm also doubting that it's the same Link & Zelda from TWW/PH. It is too much of a change, too big of a leap after PH's ending.

Ack, I know! It's bothering me so much! I wish they'd tell us. I just want to figure out the setting here.

Unless, that is, if it's Tetlink. Tetlink is adorable. Wait, that doesn't REALLY count as Zelink, does it? I mean, it does, but it's not the same Zelink as it is in the other games. And it's still considered Tetlink in the end. But it's still officially Zelink, right?

Re: NEW ZELDA: LoZ : Spirit Tracks (Tentative title)

You know, this could be a somewhat indirect sequel to PH, since it could be taking place in the "New Hyrule" that WW/PH Link and Tetra/Zelda settled, but it doesn't show the actual settlement, so it skips forward a few generations...

I like the idea of a train, it's new and fresh and just a touch weird. As long as there is some free roaming and the train is just not there to take you everywhere!. But I can't wait to play this. I think every new Zelda game on the Ds and future Nintendo handhelds will be in WW graphics.

People! There's no point in buying a DSi especially for this! When you get a game it says Nintendo DS. Not Nintendo DS Lite. It says Nintendo DS. Thats any! Otherwise those Nintendo DS games wouldn't work on my Lite. Don't worry k? Just wait till its release in July.
