Zelda: Oracle of Secrets
============LEGEND OF ZELDA: ORACLE OF SECRETS============
This would be for the GameBoy Advance, I guess. It would kind of run off the Minish Cap engine, but look more like the art for the Oracles games.
Where Ages was about puzzles and Seasons was about action, Secrets would be about doing "courageous" things like exploring high mountains and occassionally taking risks with Link's health, with secondary emphasis on stealth gameplay.
SETTING:
Dungufar: Dungufar (pronounced Dun-ja-far) is a mostly desert region. The main city, Dungufar City, is a fairly advanced city, with high walls and defenses. It has a shady underside, known as the City of Rejects, which is a nickname for the criminals, thieves, and rogues who inhabit the city, or the underground parts of the city. The deserts are all around Dungufar City. There are high mountains in the southwest, which are tests for courageous people, and are home to the Gorons. The similarly advanced Poh culture lives across the massive desert dunes. They are a race of spirit summoners.
Grand Library: The Grand Library is an ancient structure, built a long time ago. The upper levels used to be open to anyone, but the Sages of the city closed the structure to normal people, thanks to the machinations of a certain member of their council. The secret lower levels have books that relate to the lore of the world, the location of it's holy artifacts, as well as spells that would be useful to Link.
Link
-Link is sent to Dungufar by the Triforce.
Farore
-Farore is the Oracle of Secrets. She is usually found inside the Maku Tree, although she is unavailable for the first part of the game. Once she is rescued, she will play a greater role in the game, accompanying Link for a dungeon, and she is never captured again since she is very good at evading the enemies. She plays her previous role in the other games with passwords, but also plays the role of the emphasized Oracle in this game.
Maku Tree
-The Maku Tree is a grandma tree. Her children are the Maku Trees of Holodrum and Labrynna. She has three grandchildren, birthed by Labrynna's Maku Tree, who are scattered around Dungufar.
Tamra
-Tamra is a politician in Dungufar, and is hoping to sieze control of the city. She is currently on the Council of Sages, and hopes to become the High Sage. She is attempting to rally the city around defeating the Poh on the other side of the desert. However, her true goal is to make it so that she can dig up the 8 artifacts of truth so that she can make it so that she can lie to anyone without being found out and see everything that is invisible and secret, and thus root out her enemies and plan perfect battles against neighboring countries (such as Labrynna, Holodrum, and Hyrule). To meet these ends, she decides to capture Farore, the Oracle of Secrets. However, Farore is too clever and eludes her capture after the 2nd dungeon, with the help of Link.
King of Poh
-The King of Poh lives lavishly in his city of Zheng. He is said to be a decent King, but he hasn't done enough to fight the threat of Tamra in Dungufar.
Twinrova
-Twinrova came and attempted to deal with Tamra, but where rebuffed, and Tamra is actually trying to defeat them. After Tamra is defeated at the end of the game, they state that they wished to light the Flame of Sorrow with Tamra's death, but it didn't work; so, instead, they decide to use the "Princess of Hyrule."
Zelda
-If this game is linked with either Ages or Seasons, then Zelda will come after the fourth dungeon on a peace mission. Instead, Tamra plans an assassination, but Zelda is saved by Link, and hides in the Maku Tree for the rest of the game. Zelda distracts Tamra in her prison, and Twinrova mark Tamra with the Flame of Sorrow's seal, thus lighting it. So, an attempt is made to sacrifice Zelda to the other flame.
Impa
-At the beginning of the game, Farore is sitting in the Grand Library, and Link goes to the Library to learn of his quest. When Farore is arrested, the old Librarian reveals herself as Impa, who had been planted in the city to meet with Link to tell him how to save Farore.
BOOK OF SECRETS
-Farore gives Link her Book of Secrets, and Link can see his passwords on the fly. When he goes to Farore to retrieve an item from a linked game, she will ask for her book back. The Book of Secrets contains three blank pages, which detail possible spells.
-Spell of Shrouds: Allows the user to be completely invisible in the shade or in shadows.
-Spell of Truth: This allows the user to see everything that's been hidden, and see through people's lies.
-Spell of Secrets: This allows only a user (Link, Farore, or Zelda) who has committed no crimes to hide in plain sight.
DUNGEONS
Magma Grotto: Bond of Friendship
-A magma filled grotto in the southern mountains. Farore is captured and placed here by unknown assailants.
Snake's Belly: Love of Country
-A petrified, dead snake peeks it's head above ground in an oasis in the Lost Dunes. It is here that Link rescues a Sage on the Council of Sages who was imprisoned here, with the help of Dungufar citizens.
Black Well: Protection of Innocence
-A Well in Dungufar City, long thought to be a source of strange spirits. In reality, the well is the place where an evil being was once sealed. Farore actually assists Link here, as a "secondary character" and uses the Book of Secrets herself.
Pillar Canyon: Restraint of Power
-In the Northern Canyons, a singular, secluded Canyon covered in strange pillars exists, where an ancient evil sleeps.
Light Temple: Sealing of Evil
-In the Light Temple of the Poh Empire, light floods the entire temple.
Demon Tower: Confrontation of Injustice
-In the Demon Tower of the Poh Empire is where demons congregate. The Demons have been leaving the temple, and need to be put in their place.
Shadow Palace: Trust of Family
-The opposite of the Light Temple in the Poh Empire, shadows flood the entire temple.
Great Temple: Openness of Society
-Farore helps Link find an ancient temple in the heart of Dungufar City, connected to the Grand Library.
ITEMS
The items were chosen by me to complement the items found in Ages and Seasons.
Boomerang
-Link finds the Boomerang fairly early
Bombs
-Link can buy the Bombs any time
Lava Boots
-Link can find the Lava Boots before the next dungeon, which allows him to walk on the lava.
Level 1: Seed Satchel
-The regular Seed Satchel.
Level 2: Crossbow
-The Bow makes sort of a return from the old Zeldas, and allow Link to pretend to be James Bond. Sort of.
Level 3: Pegasus Boots
-More old items! Yay! The Pegasus Boots are good for running out of hairy situations...or running straight into them like Rambo. They're also good for running up walls and smashing your head into stuff.
Level 4: Roc's Feather
-Roc's Feather, of course
Level 5: Power Bracelets
-Let's you pick up stuff, blah blah
Level 6: Hammer
-BAM! BAM! HAMMAH TIEM
Level 7: Cane of Byrna
-Unlike the old Cane of Byrna, this makes statues of the user, Link. This can be used to fool enemies into thinking the statue is you, in addition to it's use as a weight.
Level 8: Megaton Hammer (Hammer L-2)
-The only level upgrade for any item in the game. The Megaton Hammer is a beefier hammer, obviously.
