Zelda Needs:

Orchestrated music
Voice acting (except Link)

Other things that would really amp up this franchise:

High-res textures with bump mapping (come on Halo ONE had this...)
Hi-Def (I know the Wii can't do this but Nintendo's main franchises need it badly)


In any case I think that the Zelda franchise it the best game franchise I've ever played. Nintendo could easily compete with other popular next-gen franchises if they stepped up and got some more realistic features. I want music that doesn't sound like some dude sat in a studio and played it on a Casio Keyboard. And I want my characters to say something please.

What do you guys think. What else would beef this franchise up to where it deserves to be?

Yeah, I agree. I was pretty hyped up about orchestrated music in TP...Eiji Aonuma promises it'll be in future titles though. Voice Acting, hm, hm, hmm. As far as I know VA still isn't accepted by stubborn fans, but it is needed, Zelda's cutscenes are too quiet without it. As for graphical suggestions, that stuff is nice, but we're not exactly sure where Zelda's graphics are going.

But, aren't there rumors that the Wii may be re-released with HD? Or did I just make that up?

Orchestrated music pleeeeeease! ;_; TP just...didn't satisfy my needs for it, but it's ok, because it was one stop closer to getting just what a lot of Zelda fans want. Super Mario Galaxy had orchestrated music, so why can't Zelda?

Voice acting...oh boy, that's a touchy subject. Um, I kinda liked what they did in TP: they made the characters move their mouths and stuff, and what they did with Midna was also pretty cool. I'm just scared that they will ruin the voice acting and give them voices that just don't fit at all. D: But....I know that if Nintendo decides to finally do it, they will do it right.

As for graphics...no more blooming, please. That got annoying.

I agree yes I do.What about better graphics,armor,tunics,weapons.Zelda really needs that stuff.

- Zelda needs a character named Link, not an avatar.
- Zelda needs to grow up. Give me some blood! Give me some genuinely scary moments!
- Zelda needs challenge. A final boss that does only 1/2 a heart of damage is absolutely unacceptable.
- Zelda needs better dungeon, map, character, etc. design.
- Zelda needs to get rid of the tunic and replace it with something reminiscent of a tunic but cooler, such as a lamellar and a tasset.
- Zelda needs to stop sucking OoT's wang and get some original ideas.

Lol, the problem with Gibberish and fake language is that when I hear voices I have to listen to them, and so if I hear gibberish I have to stop reading my text and listen carefully to gibberish, and if I proceed to read before listening I confuse myself, so, you'll find me pressing A twice in order to skip Midna's sounds so that I can read faster. xD (Okami is another great example)

And even in Shadow of the Colossus, I was busy listening to gibberish thinking that he was talking English, only to find out that I missed out on what was being said in the subtitles. (And The Wind Waker, I used to miss out on what Gohdan said because he was speaking Ancient Hylian. xB)

It's sad, but gibberish doesn't help me at all, I guess I have a fragile concentration for reading, or I can't stand reading while I should be listening...or looking. If I'm hearing voices, I want those voices to be comprehendible. And if there is an important action scene that have non-controllable text (like the ones in TP) I want to watch all the visuals and know what's going on at the same time. X_x

I...pretty much agree with all of these. Especially the challenge part. Seriously, I don't think I ever got down to three hearts in TWW or TP. Your voice acting idea is actually pretty good, and one they should seriously consider.

I agree on all points. I had never thought of them making up a language. That's actually a really cool idea.

Seriously, there's no reason to not have voice acting. PSOne games had full voice-acting. That's two generations ago, and tradition/fear of change is no longer a viable excuse.

on the subject of voice acting:

Sometimes when more than one person spoke I didn't know why was saying what, if the camera was on Link or something like that. Voice acting worked great in MP3 and it didn't have Samus talk, so it's absolutely possible to make it happen. On the other hand, I can't see people like Zelda or Ganondorf talk... I have to vote no.

Because TP was originally made for the GCN, and also released for it, not just the Wii.

I hate it when people forget about GCN TP and go on to complain about its beautiful graphics and music.

Just because TP was made for GCN doesn't mean that it shouldn't have been graphically better. The GCN was more powerful than the PS2. The GCN's only downfall were those terrible mini-Discs.

I expect more from the next Zelda. -_-

Orchestrated Music: YES, HECK YES!

Voice Acting: I don't really care if Nintendo chooses to incorporate voice acting into the Zelda games. However Link must remain without a voice. It would be unsettling to me to all of a sudden hear him talk.
