Connection element in the next Zelda game

WW was a great game, the one that got me into liking the Zelda series. Because of one thing, the linking of the story with OOT, it talked about how the hero of time traveled through time to save Hyrule. And how WW link entered the legendary flooded Hyrule. The intro was also really cool because it talked about the story of OOT and what happened after the events. The hero of time was always mentioned in the game. The connection element in WW made both storylines in WW and OOT a legend. Thats why i played OOT.

What im saying is, how about having a connection between the next Zelda game with an older one. Like for example, They could mention TP and how the chosen one saved Hyrule. It makes the storyline more like a legend.

Anything could probably change in the next Zelda game, like the gameplay, plot, story. Im just saying that they should add this simple element to the storyline. So what are your opinions?

I'd prefer that they do a TMC and reference other Zelda titles through cameos, but for the main storyline, just pretend that none of the other games in the series ever happened.

I agree, though connecting the games worked well with TWW & to a lesser extent MM. But too many connections between the games cause all the timeline drama, which can annoy me a little since I don't believe in a timeline.

But I agree on the cameo aspect, like referencing the other games via music, items, spells, minor characters, dungeon/town designs, etc

Re: Connection element in the next Zelda game

Most of the Zelda games have alot of references to others, so it would be normal to see references in the next game. Seeing a connection in it could make it better, any Zelda game could work. Its just a simple idea that could be added to make the storyline more interesting.

Perhaps a game set much earlier...
With references to or eplanations for mysteries in other games that would be in the far/nearish future...

I agree, Zelda storylines that draw me in the most are the ones that pertain to past games. I was on the very edge of my seat for almost every cutscene in The Wind Waker. It's something that's pretty important to the die-hard fans...so, it'll probably continue. Subtle or extremely obvious...it's still nice.

The storyline is what makes the game more epic and fun. I loved every cutscene in the WW too. The storyline of it is what made WW a cool game.

Direct copypasta or not, I still agree. Usually, when a Zelda game references an older one, it's bound to spend the entire time trying to be like the game its referencing.
