Music

There few things I really want the new game to have.
here's some examples:

1. Amazing plot
2. Master Sword
3. Epona (NOT A MOTORCYCLE)
4. Ganondorf

but the one thing I really want is, you guessed it, music.
Two types:
Fully orchrastrated (I misspelled, didn't I?) music
and a small item that has to do with music.

In OoT, it was obviously the Ocarina of Time.
In WW, the Wind Waker
In MC, the Ocarina of Winds
In MM, the Ocarina of Time, Goron Drums, Zora Guitar, Deku Pipes
InAoL, the Flute
etc, etc, etc.

But Twilight Princess lacked in that. It was the only thing that disappointed me. I don't care about all the other flaws, it's still an amazing game.

All I really want is an item that has to do with music.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Please, no negativity

Re: Music

I want the next game to stop sucking OOT's musical wang and come up with more original tracks that will eventually become timeless classics. And if they must bring back older music, they should take it from the more obscure corners of Zelda history (Zelda II, Link's Awakening, Minish Cap, etc.) rather than shamelessly remixing even more tunes from ALTTP and OOT.

Oh, there was the wolf's howl. Even though it sounded horrid I think it can be qualified as music, heh.

But some kind of an instrument would be nice, maybe something new though. Violin, maybe?

Violin could work wonderfully with the Wiimote-Nunchuk combo; hold button combinations (analog stick and trigger buttons) with the Nunchuk whilst making smooth gliding movements with the Wiimote.

I'd love both of those things in the next game. Especially the first one.

Re: Music

TP had the Howl Stones and other areas where you had to howl. So TP still had a music theme in a way.

And you forgot ALttP, LA and OoX. ALttP had an ocarina (which was just called flute.) LA had a red ocarina, and the Ballad of The Wind Fish was a strong, reoccurring theme in that game. OoX had the animal flutes.

I agree with the above.

In regards to the game's soundtrack, please, by all means Nintendo, use a live orchestra. It would be amazing.

first of all if you ask for no negativity your obviously not asking for everyone's thoughts, because some will be negative.

secondly, Twilight Princess had the wolf howling for music. its not an instrument but it's close enough to the Ocarina, although I guess it played less of a key role

oh okay well that's good i agree.

and yeah they definitely should have an instrument in the next one
although I really liked changing into a wolf, plus wolf link is just badass. but the whole howling thing wasn't as great as playing an instrument

And logic states that Link would indeed ride with a motorcycle instead of a horse if he lived in a futuristic world, hmm?

True, and to name other instruments, I think that drums could use the wiimote to a great effect too.
Maybe some kind of a magical, shamanistic drum?

Re: Music

Violin would work badly with mote and chuk. How would you play every different note?

The drums would work pretty fine, but they're not the best way the bring out the musical value of the songs played.

I'm thinking of some kind of magical conductors baton, like the wind waker, or maybe some kind of flute/recorder (hold the remote with your thumb on the "B" button, the rest is self-explanatory).

As for the music itself, I would really want to see some orchestrated versions to some of the n64 classics (e.g. song of healing, gerudo valley, etc.)

you could press differnet buttons for different notes and then use the nunchuk or wiimote like the violin bow

orchestrated versions of those songs have already been done, or at least for some of them.
i think the series really does need new music

The Flute/Recorder thing wouldn't really work...thanks to Wii Music.

Hm? As far as I know, there are only 2 buttons on the nunchuk. That's like, two different notes.

... Zelda has never had any orchestrated music. Besides, I just want a few songs from the n64, not the entire soundtrack.

The remote held like a recorder would work pretty good. It has like 5 possible buttons (2, 1, A, D-pad and B) for use in music, and they could make some kind of gameplay mechanic where you turn the remote so you're holding it like a recorder, and Link would instantly whip out his recorder. Then you return to holding the remote properly and Link would put his recorder away.

And what of the control stick?

You know, since every other musical instrument in a 3D Zelda game has used the control stick for note making?

4-directions = 4 notes
4-directions x 3 (because of the extra buttons changing the stick notes) = 12 notes
4 directions x 3 + 2 (the triggers being used stand-alone) = 14 notes

Funny that. Those 2 notes of yours multiplied pretty fast.
