The Legends of Zelda
Rise of Final Darkness
There have been many speculations whether or not Gannon is the final evil link is to defeat, if he plans on restoring peace to hyrule. Although, many have suggested excellent theories of what the next Zelda game could have in store. Some may say it will take place between Twighlight princess and Wind waker, because in WW, you begin in a world that is more less run by Gannon. You will also realize that, in the beginning of WW a story that speaks of no hero being able to save the doomed land of hyrule after they tell of the hero (link saving it long ago). They also confirm its been 100 years since the hero saved hyrul. But, as you begin to play through the game, it hits you that you’re in a time of great evil, and it must be slain. So? What happened in the 100 years? Something dark and evil, as explained to you in the beginning of wind wakers story, no hero returned. This would leave many to speculate, how hyrule became a great sea. That is what the game in between Twilight princess and wind waker will answer. That is of course if they choose to go in this direction. On the other hand,
TP seems like it takes place before wind waker and pretty much kicks off the whole dark time theory. You’ll quickly find out that in
TP the world your in is corrupted with darkness, brought on by Gannon, in an effort to return to hyrule. He somehow frees himself from the sages, which sealed him in the sacred realm, as shown from
OOT. Of course at the end of
TP it leaves you with an eerie feeling like something isn’t quite done. Nonetheless, the game ends, with the player dazed in thought, of if link truly destroyed Gannon. But maybe that misguided thought is correct, could it be possible that Gannon was not defeated? Thus leading off into the wind waker’s 100-year dark story? But if Gannon were really to return wouldn’t link have come back? Well this seems there are years apart from years in this theory. One thing is for sure, WW takes place in timeline B stated just last month by Miyamoto, saying this direct quote, “I would contradict that many gamers would come to the thought that WW story, does not particularly match up with the line we are so familiar with (timeline A). He than goes on to say “link as we know him does not cease to return, cause the whole conception of him not existing makes the whole idea insufficient for timeline B.” That could only mean one thing that the wind waker is in timeline B because, its story in the beginning states that link doesn’t return. That’s because, he doesn’t exist in the B timeline anymore! Which allows you to see that if the link that we know and love had existed in the timeline, he would have came back once and for all to end Gannon. Sure it may have been 100 years since
OOT and WW, but if link were there the 100 years would have been good because link would have slain Gannon to begin with. Thus, even after link has died, the hyrule of WW would have been great! 100-year difference didn’t really matter, it just matters what happened at the beginning of those hundred years to kick what happens between them and at the end off. However, with all speculations and theories that people have come up with over the years, few have mentioned dark link and his role in this great series. I feel that his role towards this story will bring on a great ending to the darkness of the Zelda Franchise. You’ll be surprised how dark link, will contribute to the already, twisted and breath taking story. As Next month I review The Legends of Zelda: Rise of Final evil, and what Nintendo had to say about it.
For next months issue!!!
Now, first off who is dark link, and where does he fit in, in the storyline? Maybe he’s even more evil than Gannon. Maybe its him that drives Gannon so when link defeats Gannon, now its dark links turn. I mean tell me something; in
oot is Gannon a harder opponent than dark link? I think not. Dark link always is the toughest opponent link faces because he is links dark side. Which leads me to believe that he plays a very strong role in this link vs. Gannon thing. I think dark link is in other Zelda games besides
oot, can’t remember I’ll try to look it up. However, if he was I know he was one of the toughest opponents of the game. I mean Gannon’s been trying to bring link and his ancestors down for years and has NEVER succeeded in doing so. So, don’t u think it would take link to beat link! Sounds like Gannon has his special creation dark link fighting link throughout Zelda games to see how much are green hat hero has improved over many years. Until the final day when link must face his present fighting style self. It makes for a great story, and doesn’t look bad to the storyline ether I mean, dark link will want to make the world dark, and link will have to stop him, and because dark link is also link, the sages will not be aloud to intervene, they will just have to see which one will rise to the occasion. I mean there can only be 1 number 1. Anyway, to finish things up I believe dark link has something to do with this story, maybe link and Gannon must team up to defeat this evil more powerful link Gannon created threw hatred of the real link. But i don’t expect a Zelda game like this to hit anytime soon, this would have to be at the VERY END of the series. I will explain in the best way I can how this could be the last installment of the Zelda series. I guarantee you. Expect to see another installment of dark link, in the next coming Zelda games; I’d hate to say I told u so.
